Tianjin China. The greatest sky wheel — Tianjin Eye
China | Tianjin | Tianjin Eye Bridge | 天津之眼摩天轮 | Night light of Tianjin Eye Bridge
Tianjin Eye, also called as The Tientsin Eye, is a 120-metre tall giant Ferris wheel built above the Yongle Bridge (formerly Chihai Bridge), over the Hai River in Tianjin, China.
Construction started in 2007, with completion of the main body on 18 December 2007, and the wheel opened to the public on 7 April 2008.
At the time of its completion, only the 135 m London Eye, 160 m Star of Nanchang, and 165 m Singapore Flyer were taller. Tianjin Eye, also called The Tientsin Eye is electrically powered and has 48 passenger capsules, each able to carry 8 passengers, and takes 30 minutes to complete a rotation, giving a maximum capacity of 768 passengers per hour.

Gigantic Ferris wheel in Tianjin
It is said that this is the largest Ferris Wheel called The Tianjin Eye in the world because it is taller than The London Eye.
Also, it is reported to be the only Ferris wheel in the world that's erected above a bridge.
The 110 meter diameter ferris wheel will lift people 120 meters up into the air, as high as one 35-storey building, and promise a grand view of around 40 square kilometers over the surrounding city.
However, it won't be long to be the largest Ferris wheel, because Beijing started to build the world's largest Ferris wheel which will stands 208m.

Flawed Ferris wheel takes 138 Chinese on a rollercoaster of emotions
At an amusement park, it’s all fun and games, until you get trapped 60 meters above the ground – and that’s exactly what 138 people, including dozens of kids, went through when a Ferris wheel suddenly stopped at a theme park in Yangzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province, on Sunday evening.
Firefighters had to manually rotate the wheel using ropes, freeing passengers as each capsule reached ground level. Other rescuers comforted those still trapped, especially children.
However, the operation was momentarily hampered as the dysfunctional ride suddenly started to speed up. Luckily, it was quickly brought under control.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the incident is currently under investigation.

World's Biggest Shaftless Ferris Becomes New Landmark in the City of Kite in China
The world's biggest shaftless Ferris wheel has become the new landmark of Weifang City in east China's Shandong Province, a city known for its kite making industry.
The wheel, 125 meters in diameter and 145 meters tall, has quickly become one of the most famous tourist destination in the region after its was put into operation in May this year.
It has 36 compartments, each able to hold a maximum of 10 people. It takes about 30 minutes for the wheel to turn a complete circle.
Construction of the wheel took three years, and more than 5,000 tonnes of steel was used for the main structure.
The project was completed at the end of 2017 and underwent testing to confirm its safety.

More about Tianjin from Wiki:
Tianjin is a municipality and a coastal metropolis in Northern China on the shore of Bohai Sea, it is one of the nine national central cities in Mainland China, with a total population over 15.6 million. This makes it one of the largest cities in the world.
The walled city of Tianjin was built in 1404. As a treaty port since 1860, Tianjin has been a major seaport and gateway to Beijing. During the Boxer Rebellion the city was the seat of the Tianjin Provisional Government. Under the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China, Tianjin became one of the largest cities in the region. At that time, numerous European-style buildings and mansions were constructed in concessions, many of which are well-preserved today. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Tianjin suffered a depression due to the policy of the central government and Tangshan earthquake, but recovered from 1990s. Nowadays Tianjin is a dual-core city, with its main urban area (including the old city) located along the Hai River, which connects to the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers via the Grand Canal; and Binhai, a New Area urban core located east of the old city, on the coast of the Bohai Gulf. As of the end of 2010, around 285 Fortune 500 companies have set up base in Binhai. Since 2010, Tianjin's Yujiapu Financial District has become known as China's Manhattan.
