Ferris Wheel Riders Safely Evacuated From 'Orlando Eye'
A technical crew with The Orlando Eye safely evacuated all 66 stranded riders from the largest Ferris wheel on East Coast, an incident that shut down the attraction that towers 400 feet over central Florida. Orange County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Kathleen Kennedy told The Associated Press no one was hurt following the Friday afternoon incident and all were taken off in an operation lasting about three hours with help from several firefighters. She said the attraction, which is billed by operators as the largest observation wheel on the East Coast, had initially stopped for more than 45 minutes.

New Year's Eve 2020 Fireworks - London, Paris, NY, Rio, Sydney, Dubai, Moscow, Seoul

SYDNEY
Australia ushered in the New Year with a huge fireworks display in Sydney, despite the calls to cancel the event as devastating bushfires raged across the country.
A petition to cancel the event out of respect for fire victims attracted more than 280,000 signatures. Fireworks displays were scrapped in Australia's capital, Canberra, and Sydney's western suburbs due to elevated fire danger and extreme weather conditions.
Critics had wanted Sydney to use the Aus $6.5 million ($4.5 million) spent on the display to fight bushfires ringing the city, but officials said the event was worth Aus $130 million to the economy and cancelling it would not have helped those impacted by the fires.
LONDON
The UK is among the last European countries to enter 2020. In London, party-goers watched fireworks displays over the London Eye ferris wheel.
In Scotland, where New Year's Eve is called Hogmanay, thousands flocked to Edinburgh for the UK's largest street party. Scotland's national poet Robert Burns is the composer of internationally well-known New Year's song Auld Lang Syne, which is traditionally played at midnight in many countries.
SEOUL
Thousands of South Koreans filled the downtown streets in Seoul ahead of a traditional bell-tolling ceremony near City Hall. Dignitaries picked to ring the old Bosingak bell at midnight included South Korean Major League Baseball pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu and Pengsoo, a giant penguin character with a gruff voice and blunt personality that emerged as one of the country's biggest TV stars in 2019.
MOSCOW
Russians began the world's longest continuous New Year's Eve with fireworks and a message from President Vladimir Putin urging them to work together in the coming year.
Putin made the call in a short speech broadcast on television just before the stroke of midnight in each of Russia's 11 time zones. The recorded message was followed by an image of the Kremlin Clock and the sound of its chimes. State TV showed footage of extensive festive fireworks in cities of the Far East.
DUBAI
Tourists and locals in Dubai kicked off the New Year with one of the world's top fireworks shows at the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. The New Year's Eve display at the 828-meter-tall (2,716-foot-tall) structure was just one of seven different fireworks shows across the emirate. Before the show, 14 skydivers with flares looked like meteors flying through the sky.
NEW YORK
Fireworks burst and confetti fell as throngs of revelers cheered the start of 2020 in New York City's Times Square. In one of the globe's most-watched New Year's Eve spectacles, the crowd counted down the last seconds of 2019 as a luminescent crystal ball descended down a pole.
About 3,000 pounds of confetti showered the sea of attendees, many of whom were also briefly rained on earlier in the evening as they waited in security pens for performances by stars including rap-pop star Post Malone, K-pop group BTS, country singer Sam Hunt and singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette.
The crowds packed into the heart of Manhattan mouthed lyrics and waved yellow and purple balloons in a frenzy as midnight approached.
RIO DE JANEIRO
In Brazil, it is traditional to wear white clothing on New Year's Eve. The celebration is known as Reveillon. White is said to bring good luck. In Rio de Janeiro, people gather at Copacabana beach to watch live music.

Falling light aircraft recorded DVR, informs LifeNews. The camera is located in the cockpit, and recorded the flight time of the fall legkomotora. After an unsuccessful landing approach the plane did not have time to get up to speed and collided with trees.
Airplane Company Aeroteh crashed about 11 am Nov. 3 near the runway in the village Razdolnoe Kolchuginsky District. According to the press service of the MES on the Vladimir region, one of the pilots of light aircraft, 44-year-old pilot-instructor 1st class died in the hospital on the day of the crash. The co-pilot, 33-year-old intern is KOLCHUGINO CRH in serious condition. He closed head injury, multiple bruises and fractures.
Investigation into the causes of the crash are employees of the Volga Investigation Department of Transport in conjunction with the Interstate Aviation Committee.

Расследование причин авиакатастрофы ведут сотрудники Приволжского следственного управления на транспорте совместно с Межгосударственным авиационным комитетом.

LIVE: Protest against Moscow’s housing resettlement hits the Russian capital
A march against the planned housing renovation and resettlement in Moscow is taking place on Sunday, May 28.
The organisers of the rally demand the draft law on Moscow’s housing renovation to be withdrawn from consideration by the State Duma. The organisers are demanding a guarantee that decisions on the demolitions are to be made with the voluntary consent of all tenants, as well as with a mind to the ‘preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the city'.
