West Vancouver Ferry Building Gallery - Artist Talk / Demo PART 1
Jane is at the Ferry Building in West Vancouver doing an abstract demonstration for artists. She starts in an unusual way, with a little play using a small brush to get into the rhythm of the piece with abstraction, nothing to do with landscape initially, while hoping to eventually get into a zone of landscape. She includes muted colours and the feelings she remembers nature expresses, such as freedom. She notices the small brush does not carry a lot of paint and decides to go right into using a larger flat brush with darker hues including Persian Blue, Jenkins Green, and Raw Umber.
Trying to keep a variation of intervals, she puts in big shapes and repetitions. Jane was timing her painting to see its progression in 37 minutes and is surprised to find that when she asks for the time only 7 minutes had been used up. Jane starts to play on the symbols and feeling of a winter landscape, explaining her thought process as she moves along.
Jane mentions artist Ann Kipling and says: “You can’t get an interesting line unless you have done it over and over again. Here Jane questions about whether the marks that are made add or take away from the painting, adding that because it is expressive she prefers it to have interest and is not so concerned about them at this point.
After some larger shapes are included and notan structure considered, Jane takes note of the evolution of her painting and comes across what she feels might be a problem….
Stay tuned for Part two where Jane hopes to resolve the large abstract landscape.

Horseshoe Bay - West Vancouver - Ferry Terminal Area - Relaxing Sightseeing Spot
This is a short video since Horseshoe Bay is quite tiny. If you're in the mood to eat some fish and chips, this is a good place to eat and then take a walk. There's a ferry terminal around here which will take to you to Vancouver Island... and other places.
The music was created by 2 people in Vancouver.

Downtown Vancouver BC Canada - Driving Tour in City Centre
This is downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
We start off on the Cambie Street Bridge and travel up Smithe Street.
We head down Nelson Street at 2:50.
At 10:20, we are on Beach Avenue where there is... a beach.
12:00 is where a lot of people reside in downtown Vancouver -- the rent around here tends to be cheaper since the buildings are older... but it's still expensive for what you get.
16:24 is the famous Robson Street (lots of shops and restaurants).
Hornby Street -- 19:25 -- is where the art gallery is (on the right).
22:05 is Hastings Street -- West Hastings is the business district while the East is infamous for its drug users.
24:35 is the Gastown area -- tourists seem to enjoy this area.
At 28:12 that big building on the right is the downtown library -- if you're interested in architecture it's worth a visit.
At the end of Seymour Street is the final station for the Skytrain (Waterfront) -- 35:55.
36:45 is the Vancouver Convention Centre and Pan Pacific Hotel.
The North part of Burrard Street has some high towers used for businesses (37:41).
41:25 is Coal Harbor -- if you have a yacht, you can anchor it around here.
Granville Street is where you can go to nightclubs at night -- it's also a nice place to get punched in the face if you get too drunk and become a nuisance -- 49:20.
50:52 is Yaletown, the perfect place to take an extended lunch break and have a few beers.
We pass by Chinatown (58:32) and end up around the Powell Street area towards the end of this video.

We are driving to Vancouver, British Columbia from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. By the end of the video, we have crossed over the Knight Street bridge into the most populated city on the west coast of Canada.

Robson Square Vancouver - beautiful afternoon walk (4k)
My walk around beautiful Robson Square Vancouver, starting off on Hornby Street until we reach the square. I take this downtown vancouver walk into Robson Square, which has man made waterfalls, greenery, a lower level outdoor skating rink, open spaces, and a great view of the buildings including the Vancouver Art Gallery and some of the downtown Vancouver skyline.
The Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver law courts, a UBC campus, and areas to sit and enjoy the views are all located within the square, and it is a downtown landmark.
The skating rink can be used off winter seasons for dancing (as seen in the video),but during the winter it's used for skating, and it's free. (You have to pay for skate rentals though if you don't bring your own.)
After exploring Robson square, I continued on northbound on Hornby until I hit GeorgiaSt and walked east until Granville Street, getting views of the downtown core and buildings. From there it was a northbound walk on Granville st to the entrance of the Granville Skytrain Station.
Thanks for watching!

Vancouver's Burrard Bridge and the False Creek Ferry's spans False Creek
Granville Street Bridge & The Burrard Street Bridge (sometimes referred to as the Burrard Bridge) is a four-lane, Art Deco style, steel truss bridge constructed in 1930–1932 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The high, five part bridge on four piers spans False Creek, connecting downtown Vancouver with Kitsilano via connections to Burrard Street on both ends. It is one of three bridges crossing False Creek. The other two bridges are the Granville Bridge, three blocks or 0.5 km (0.31 mi) to the southeast, and the Cambie Street Bridge, about 11 blocks or 2 km (1.2 mi) to the east. In addition to the vehicle deck, the Burrard Bridge has 2.6 m (8 ft 6 in) wide sidewalks and a dedicated cycling lane on both sides.
The architect of the Burrard Street Bridge was George Lister Thornton Sharp, the engineer John R. Grant. The bridge's two close approach spans are Warren trusses placed below deck level, while its central span is a Pratt truss placed above deck level to allow greater clearance height for ships passing underneath. The central truss is hidden when crossing the bridge in either direction by vertical extensions of the bridge's masonry piers into imposing concrete towers, connected by overhead galleries, which are embellished with architectural and sculptural details that create a torch-like entrance of pylons. Busts of Captain George Vancouver and Sir Harry Burrard-Neale in ship prows jut from the bridge’s superstructure (a V under Vancouver’s bust, a B under Burrard’s).
Unifying the long approaches and the distinctive central span are heavy concrete railings, originally topped with decorative street lamps. These pierced handrails were designed as a kind of visual shutter (stroboscopic effect), so that at a speed of 50 km/h motorists would see through them with an uninterrupted view of the harbour. The effect works at speeds from about 40 to 64 km/h.
Burrard Street Bridge has been assessed by heritage consultants retained by the City of Vancouver as being in the top category of historic buildings in Vancouver.[4] The bridge appeared on a stamp issued by Canada Post in 2011, in a series showcasing five notable Art Deco structures in Canada

Hi, CORVAIRWILD here. A little about me and what I do: First, I love my wife of many years, she is a wonderful lady. I call her Mrs CW. I can never go anywhere without her & my Dog Muggs! He's cool. You should have a dog like him too. Next, I am a landlord, NO, not a slumlord who does section 8 apartment rentals, but I keep my properties up like they were my own...they are my own! Like I live there. I have lots of apartment buildings, a farm out in the country and a house here and there. I am always doing something, driving rehabbing, you name it! I want to include you, so I bring my camera! EVERYWHERE! Haha.
ENJOY.
Did I mention I am a car enthusiast! I can't get enough Covairs and Vintage Chevy and GMC trucks. They have great reliability...all of em' the best vehicle on the road ever is a Corvair Spider Turbo. Back to the trucks, I love the diesel trucks and suburbans, Blazers too. That's what I plow snow with. A fisher snow plow. I'm a busy guy, but I make time for you. Thanks! CW
