Petra Cooper is relishing her second career. The former publishing executive is already an award-winning cheese producer as founder and CEO of Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Company and Fifth Town Productions, both branches of a company she incorporated in 2002. She says she moved to Prince Edward County with her husband and young daughter for a country lifestyle and the abundant business opportunities. The company has won international recognition for not only its cheese products but its remarkable building. Fifth Town opened the doors to its very own LEED certified factory in the spring of 2008. It is the first certified platinum LEED manufacturing facility in Canada and the first dairy in North America with the certification.

If you have never visited Prince Edward County, you've missed a great family adventure!
If you have been, you will know what I mean, Prince Edward County is one of those Ontario regions that needs to be explored, it has so much to offer!
Judi and I have been there many times and always find something new to explore ~ from its quaint village and hamlets to the amazing Sandbanks Provincial Park.
As you travle the Loyalist Highway, you will want to stop at the many interesting shops along the way. Another great feature of the area are the wineries. They dot the main road and by-roads. Prince Edward County is gaining the reputation of producing some of Ontario's best wines.
If you want extra fun visiting Prince Edward County, try visiting during one of its many events ~ Maple in the County, Canada Day in Wellington, Prince Edward County Studio Tour, Prince Edward County Music Festival, Picton Fair and The Maker's Hand artisan show.
If you can be there during one of these special events, plan on vexporing one or many of the County's 5 museums.
