RNLI Lizard Lifeboat Station
The Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall has one of the most remote and treacherous coastlines in the UK making the Lizard lifeboat station one of the most important lifeboat stations in the country.
The station's design had to safeguard the environment and re-use as much existing structure as possible. Set at the base of a 45m cliff, a twin-engine Tamar class lifeboat sits ready for launch in the boathouse. When called out, it slides down a slipway into deep water.

Filey is a small town on the North Yorkshire Coast. It is one of the most visited coastal towns especially in summer. There are plenty of gift shops, cafes and restaurants not only in the town centre but also by the beach front.

Places to see in ( Staithes - UK )
Places to see in ( Staithes - UK )
Staithes is a seaside village in the Scarborough Borough of North Yorkshire, England. Easington and Roxby Becks, two brooks that run into Staithes Beck, form the border between the Borough of Scarborough and Redcar and Cleveland. Formerly one of the many fishing centres in England, Staithes is now largely a tourist destination within the North York Moors National Park.
The name Staithes derives from Old English and means 'Landing-Place'. It has been suggested that it is so named after being the port for the nearby Seaton Hall and Hinderwell. At the turn of the 20th century, there were 80 full-time fishing boats putting out from Staithes. A hundred years later there are still a few part-time fisher men. There is a long tradition of using the coble (a traditional fishing vessel) in Staithes.
It was reported in 1997 that the Royal Mail were encouraging the occupants of Staithes to number their houses instead of relying on names. Whilst the regular postperson had no difficulty with the narrow streets and cottages, the relief postal staff were getting confused. Royal Mail also claimed it would aid efficiency by their postal machines which automatically read the addresses.
Staithes has a sheltered harbour, bounded by high cliffs and two long breakwaters. A mile to the west is Boulby Cliff where, for a brief period, alum, a mineral used to improve the strength and permanency of colour when dying cloth, was mined. The mining operation ended when a cheaper chemical method was developed. The ruined remnants of the mines can be seen from the cliff top when walking the Cleveland Way between Staithes and Skinningrove.
Staithes is a destination for geologists researching the Jurassic (Lias), strata in the cliffs surrounding the village. In the early 1990s, a rare fossil of a seagoing dinosaur was discovered after a rockfall between Staithes and Port Mulgrave to the south. This fossil has been the focus of an ongoing project to remove the ancient bones of the creature. Port Mulgrave remains one of the best places on the northern coast to find fossils of ammonites and many visitors spend hours cracking open the shaly rocks on the shoreline in the hope of finding a perfect specimen.
The permanent population of the village has dwindled due to more than half of the houses being second homes owned by outsiders from cities such as Leeds and York and further afield. Even though fewer than half of the houses in the village are occupied by local people, the traditions of the village have not yet died; many of the local women still buy Staithes bonnets from the sole bonnet maker, and the Staithes Fisher Men's Choir is still going strong. There is active local participation in the local RNLI Lifeboat crew. Locally, the name was traditionally pronounced Steers.
Between 1883 and 1958, the village was served by Staithes railway station which was on the Whitby, Redcar and Middlesbrough Union Railway. The southern end of the village is bisected by the A174 road between Thornaby-on-Tees and Whitby.
( Staithes - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Staithes . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Staithes - UK

Hastings Fishing Fleet Return
Unlike most fishing fleets, the one at Hastings is both launched from and landed at the beach. Winches are used to pull the boats out of the water and up the beach, while wooden planks are used to provide a smoother running surface than the shingle. These videos were taken at about 10am, the fleet had been out since about 5am - the boats featured had apparently been catching cuttlefish, which are sold onto Spain for processing and retail.

SCARBOROUGH WALK | Scarborough seafront walk
SCARBOROUGH WALK | A short video walk along the Scarborough seafront from the funfair near the harbour down to the lifeboat house and Scarborough beach.
One of the more pleasant Scarborough walks, we go along the South Bay seafront starts at the harbour entrance in the shadows of Scarborough Castle.

I would love it if you would give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel here -
The first thing we see is the Luna Park, a Scarborough fair at the entrance to the harbour that houses a ferris wheel, funfair rides as well as places to eat and drink whilst looking out at Scarborough fishing harbour.
As the camera pans around we begin walking along the seafront of Scarborough's South Bay and soon come to the fishing pots and nets that the Scarborough fishermen use on a daily basis when they head out to sea in their boats to catch the days fish.
On the other side of the road are the coffee shops, the tea shops and restaurants and the amusement arcades of Scarborough's busy seafront.
We pass by Harbourside Gift Shop on Sandside and the one stop rock shop on the left where you can buy a stick of seaside rock on your visit to Scarborough.
It was out of season when we filmed this (we filmed this video on the 29th December 2017) so that was closed but the food stalls next door were still open and trading despite the freezing North Sea air blowing in.
We pass the Harbourside Hot Food bar and Jenny's Ice Cream bar that sell Donuts, Waffles, Candy-Floss and Ice Creams.
Next up on the seafront is the ever popular seafood stalls where you can buy cockles, mussles and fresh fish prepared for you to eat straight away. Prawns, Crab Sandwiches, you name it you can get it here!
The Sanside Penny Arcade is further down on the right as we head towards the beach. Along the road is the Princess Cafe and tea shop where you can stop by for a pot of Yorkshire tea and Scones (recommended)
The Newcastle Packet is next door, a traditional Scarborough pub serving ale and pub food.
Over the road and on our left hand side are the Scarborough clocks and barometers that tell us the temperature, air pressure, time, wind direction and more. Fascinating to stop by and look at that bit of Scarborough history!
Right next to that is the Scarborough police box or 'Tardis' as I knew it as a small child. It definitely looks like the one from Doctor Who to a kid!
More seafood on Scarborough Seafront next as Curly Fletchers seafood stall is the first on the row of these terrific seafood stalls.
We end this video at Scarborough beach in front of the Scarborough Lifeboat house. A brand new modern lifeboat station that is definitely an upgrade on the old wooden boat house that stood there before it!
And there you have it. A short video tour of Scarborough Seafront with a walk from the Luna Park and Harbour down to Scarborough beachfront and Lifeboat Station!

Scarborough, Scalby Flood August 2017
Whitby
Whitby is a seaside town, port and civil parish in the Borough of Scarborough and English county of North Yorkshire. Prior to local government reorganisations in the late 1960s, it was part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. Situated on the east coast of Yorkshire at the mouth of the River Esk, Whitby has an established maritime, mineral and tourist heritage. Its East Cliff is home to the ruins of Whitby Abbey, where Caedmon, the earliest recognised English poet, lived. The fishing port developed during the Middle Ages, supporting important herring and whaling fleets, and was (along with the nearby fishing village of Staithes) where Captain Cook learned seamanship.
