Focus: Russia strengthens military aircraft with new fighters
Russia continues to actively modernize its combat aircraft, reports Focus Online. The Russian VKS received reinforcements in the form of a new batch of Su-30SM fighters - a significantly improved version of the highly maneuverable Su-27 fighter. Su-30SM have already shown themselves in Syria, where they were used to accompany strategic bombers and struck at the positions of terrorists.
Russian air force received reinforcements. The last assembly stage of the new arrivals, including 14 Su-30SM fighters and 10 combat-training Yak-130 aircraft, is taking place in the factory workshop in Irkutsk.
Su-30SM is a thoroughly modernized version of the proven Su-27. The fighter, famous for its maneuverability, was first put into service in 1985. Su-30SM is a double multipurpose fighter. It differs from its predecessors, among other things, by controlling the thrust vector of the engine and modern onboard radio-electronic equipment. He does not have the characteristics of technology stealth, so the manufacturer calls it a fighter generation 4 ++.
Currently, about 100 Su-30SM are at the disposal of the Russian air force. They have already been used in Syria. There they accompanied strategic bombers. However, beyond this, they also supported the Syrian army, hitting ground targets in the fight against terrorists. New combat aircraft show that Russia continues to modernize its largely outdated aircraft fleet.

RUSSIA TO GET 10 SU-35S FIGHTER JETS BY YEAR-END.
RUSSIA TO GET 10 SU-35S FIGHTER JETS BY YEAR-END.
The Russian Defense Ministry will receive ten highly maneuverable multirole fighters Sukhoi-35S and four Sukhoi-27 will be upgraded to the Sukhoi-35 level, by this year end.
Last year, we concluded a long-term contract for building Sukhoi-35S planes. This year we expect ten newly-built Sukhoi-35S fighters and another four Sukhoi-27s upgraded to match the Sukhoi-35 capabilities, First Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov told TASS on Thursday while visiting the Gagarin Aircraft-Building Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Borisov spoke highly of the Sukhoi-35S parameters. The pilots say the plane is great. It boasts unique flight and technical parameters. It was baptized by fire in Syria to have displayed excellent capabilities, Borisov added.
The plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur was commissioned to build 50 Sukhoi-35S jets for the Defense Ministry by 2020. Ten planes are to be delivered every year. Since 2009 the plant has provided 48 planes for the Russian Armed Forces.

Mikoyan MiG-29
The Mikoyan MiG-29 (Russian: Микоян МиГ-29; NATO reporting name: Fulcrum) is a jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. Developed by the Mikoyan design bureau as an air superiority fighter during the 1970s, the MiG-29, along with the larger Sukhoi Su-27, was developed to counter new American fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The MiG-29 entered service with the Soviet Air Force in 1983.
While originally oriented towards combat against any enemy aircraft, many MiG-29s have been furnished as multirole fighters capable of performing a number of different operations, and are commonly outfitted to use a range of air-to-surface armaments and precision munitions. The MiG-29 has been manufactured in several major variants, including the multirole Mikoyan MiG-29M and the navalised Mikoyan MiG-29K; the most advanced member of the family to date is the Mikoyan MiG-35. Later models frequently feature improved engines, glass cockpits with HOTAS-compatible flight controls, modern radar and IRST sensors, considerably increased fuel capacity; some aircraft have also been equipped for aerial refuelling.

SUMMARY
=======
War crimes perpetrated by the Soviet Union and its armed forces from 1919 to 1991 include acts committed by the Red Army (later called the Soviet Army) as well as the NKVD, including the NKVD's Internal Troops. In some cases, these acts were committed upon the orders of the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin in pursuance of the early Soviet Government's policy of Red Terror, in other instances they were committed without orders by Soviet troops against prisoners of war or civilians of countries that had been in armed conflict with the USSR, or they were committed during partisan warfare.A significant number of these incidents occurred in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe before, during and in the aftermath of World War II, involving summary executions and the mass murder of prisoners of war, such as in the Katyn massacre and mass rape by troops of the Red Army in territories they occupied.
When the Allied Powers of World War II founded the post-war International Military Tribunal to examine war crimes committed during the conflict by Nazi Germany, with officials from the Soviet Union taking an active part in the judicial processes, there was no examination of Soviet Forces' actions and no charges were ever brought against its troops, because they were also an undefeated power which then held Eastern Europe under military occupation, marring the historical authority of the Tribunal's activity as being, in part, victor's justice.Today, the Russian government regularly dismisses the war crimes as Western myth. In Russian history textbooks, the atrocities are either altered to portray the Soviets positively or omitted entirely. In a June 2017 interview, Russian president Vladimir Putin acknowledged the horrors of Stalinism, but he also criticized the excessive demonization of Stalin by Russia's enemies.

SUMMARY
=======
The Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR, or Byelorussian SSR; Belarusian: Беларуская Савецкая Сацыялістычная Рэспубліка, translit. Biełaruskaja Savieckaja Sacyjalistyčnaja Respublika; Russian: Белорусская Советская Социалистическая Республика, translit. Belorusskaya Sovetskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Respublika or Белорусская ССР, lit. 'Belorusskaya SSR'), also commonly referred to in English as Byelorussia, was a federal unit of the Soviet Union (USSR). It existed between 1920 and 1922, and from 1922 to 1991 as one of fifteen constituent republics of the USSR, with its own legislation from 1990 to 1991. The republic was ruled by the Communist Party of Byelorussia and was also referred to as Soviet Byelorussia by a number of historians.To the west it bordered Poland. Within the Soviet Union, it bordered the Lithuanian SSR and the Latvian SSR to the north, the Russian SFSR to the east and the Ukrainian SSR to the south.
The Socialist Soviet Republic of Byelorussia (SSRB) was declared by the Bolsheviks on 1 January 1919 following the declaration of independence by the Belarusian Democratic Republic in March 1918. In 1922, the BSSR was one of the four founding members of the Soviet Union, together with the Ukrainian SSR, the Transcaucasian SFSR and the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR). Byelorussia was one of several Soviet republics occupied by Nazi Germany during World War II.
Towards the final years of the Soviet Union's existence, the Supreme Soviet of Byelorussian SSR adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty on 27 July 1990. On 15 August 1991, Stanislaŭ Šuškievič was elected as the country's first president. Ten days later on 25 August 1991, Byelorussian SSR declared its independence and renamed to the Republic of Belarus. The Soviet Union was dissolved four months and one day later on December 26, 1991.
2014 Russian military intervention in Ukraine
Following the events of the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution, a secession crisis began on Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula. In late February 2014, unmarked armed forces began to take over the Crimean Peninsula in Ukraine. Experts identified the gunmen to be Russian Special Forces and other paramilitaries. Russia at the time insisted that the forces did not include Russian troops stationed in the area, but only local self-defense forces. The local population and the media referred to them as martians or little green men. On 17 April, Russian president Vladimir Putin admitted that Russian troops were in fact active in Crimea during the referendum, claiming this facilitated self-determination for the region.
Russia has rejected the legitimacy of the interim Ukrainian government in favor of ousted-President Viktor Yanukovych, whose request for intervention has also been cited. Russia has accused the United States and the European Union of funding and directing the Ukrainian revolution.

According to traffic inspectors, Scania driver repeatedly grossly violated traffic rules. While overtaking, he went to the oncoming lane and nearly made a head on collision several times. Driver passenger cars, trying to avoid the accident, swerved and slid into a ditch.
Since the Scania driver did not obey repeated orders to stop, repeatedly violated the rules for overtaking, went into oncoming traffic, creating an emergency situation and a threat to other road users, it was decided to apply a service weapon to stop the truck reported Grodno police.
Three warning shots were fired in the air, however, the driver of the wagon continued movement.
At 20.37 the police asked for help from police members of the Baranovichi District: By this time, the Scania had left the M1 and was headed in the direction of Minsk. Members of the Baranovichy police crew intercepted traffic in front of the truck, warning of the dangers of drivers.
As it turned out, by the end of the chase in Scania were only two wheels intact. In addition, inlets and bullets were on the fuel tank, and, apparently, the van stopped just because of all the shattered tank leaked fuel.
