CRRC worker: I feel 'glorious' making Chinese high-speed trains
As a debugging worker at the CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., Luo Zhaoqiang is responsible for identifying and removing errors before Fuxing bullet trains leave the factory. From an electrical repairman to gatekeeper, Luo has worked here for 30 years. He told CGTN that it is the grand stage of the Chinese high-speed railway that fulfills his personal dream as a high-speed train worker.
How is the Fuxing bullet train built? How can it run smoothly at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour? CGTN will soon unveil the answers in an exclusive 360-degree panoramic video of the entire process.

NANNING-HANOI by rail! Easiest rail border crossing ever, or were online reports correct?
This overnight rail journey was the crossing I was most worried about, having read some scary reports online. After one last look around Nanning, I boarded the Chinese train across the China-Vietnam border to Hanoi. I end up at a very quiet station 5km from the city centre.

First Time On The Great Wall, CHINA - The Father & Son Way! - China Adventure v4
In today's video, we take a stroll on the Great Wall, China for the first time. Kaleb and I continue our China Adventure taking to the slopes and attempt not to fall off!!
We start at the Water Town replica city, 2 hours out of Beijing, make our way up the Gondola and walked down one of the steepest parts of the Wall. I do have to say, I felt like I was going to fall off or backward for most of the adventure, it'll make sense when you see the video.

'Silk Road' train from China reaches London
A train full of Chinese goods has arrived in London after making a trip halfway across the world.
This is the first freight train from China's Zhejiang province to Britain and it is hoped it will be the start of a new trade route from China, emulating the ancient Silk Road of more than 2,000 years ago.
Al Jazeera’s Sonia Gallego reports from London.

The World's Largest Highway Network,China
The World's Largest Highway Network,China
What country has the largest highway system?
United States of America. The US road network exceeds 6.58 million kilometres in total length, making it the world's longest and biggest road network
China. China has the world's second biggest road network, exceeding 4.24 million kilometres (as of
India
Brazil
Russia
Japan
Canada
France
China now has over 130,000 kilometers of highways nationwide, according to an official census on the country’s expressways. That’s enough to go around the globe more than three times.
Every year since 2011, another 10,000 kilometers has been added to the network. And China now has the world’s largest highway system.
The Jinggang’ao Expressway, which links Beijing to Hong Kong and Macao, is the country’s busiest highway. Every day some 140,000 tons of cargo travels this road and it’s the country’s No 1 expressway for congestion.
It makes sense, as the area around Beijing also has one of the country’s most vibrant economies.
“If you look closely, it’s obvious that highways contribute a lot to the regional economy. The busiest sections, with their traffic, and load capacity, show economic hubs are often linked with highway systems,” said Liu Fang from China Academy of Transportation Sciences.
That’s why China continues to add more pavements.
The Yanhuang Expressway, which runs 800 kilometers along the Yellow River, will open to traffic soon.
“We have very high hopes for the highway’s opening. There will be so many more tourists here. We can sell them dates and introduce them to scenic spots along the route. Our investment will definitely pay off,” said Zhang Tianxiao, a travel agency manager.
The Chinese saying may still hold true after all: Want to get rich? You have to first build a road.

STOPPED AT THE BORDER | China & San Francisco (USA)
Guangzhou & Wuhan (China) | San Francisco, CA (USA) | June 16th 2016
It was a long journey from Phuket to San Francisco. We had two stops in China on our way. One was a proper stopover where we changed planes. Our flight from Guangzhou to San Francisco had a 'hidden' stopover in Wuhan (also China) meaning the first portion of the flight was technically domestic and we had to transfer to the domestic terminal - this was pretty confusing as nobody would explain this to us and just kept saying no, domestic when we tried to go to international transfers/departures with our boarding pass that said San Francisco! We then had to get off the plane in Wuhan to go through immigration (and then immediately exit the country again - very strange) and then got back on the same plane. We'd been told by the airline when we booked that we could stay on the plane but this didn't end up being the case!
When we arrived in San Francisco, Armenia got sent to secondary screening whereas I got through fine. I had no idea why she'd been taken aside as we went through seperately and I had had to wait at baggage claim for 45 minutes imagining ridiculous scenarios of what could have happened! Turns out her passport showed up as being reported lost/cancelled, which it obviously hadn't and we'd just been to 6 other countries without an issue. US immigration contacted New Zealand who said that her passport had not been reported lost and wasn't cancelled - very strange!
To top it all off, one of my suitcases had the lock/zipper broken off and a leather bag (which I'd only bought a week earlier) and ONE shoe were taken - not a pair of shoes, just one shoe! We had to spend even longer at the airport to file a claim with the airline. Upon arriving at our hostel we discovered my other suitcase had also been tampered with and I had to break the combination lock/zippers on that one myself to open it! Drama!
But we made it - next vlogs are much happier as we explore San Fran!!

Chinese City Review - Guangzhou (Canton)
Guangzhou (simplified Chinese: 广州; traditional Chinese: 廣州; Cantonese pronunciation: [kʷɔ̌ːŋ.tsɐ̂u̯] or [kʷɔ̌ːŋ.tsɐ́u̯] ( listen); Mandarin pronunciation: [kwàŋ.ʈʂóu] ( listen)), traditionally romanised as Canton, is the capital and most populous city of the province of Guangdong in southern China. Located on the Pearl River about 120 km (75 mi) north-northwest of Hong Kong and 145 km (90 mi) north of Macau, Guangzhou was a major terminus of the maritime Silk Road and continues to serve as a major port and transportation hub.
Guangzhou is currently, the third most-populous city in mainland China, behind Beijing and Shanghai; holds sub-provincial administrative status; and is one of China's five National Central Cities. In 2015 the city's administrative area was estimated to have a population of 13,501,100 and forms part of one of the most populous metropolitan agglomerations on Earth. Some estimates place the population of the built-up area of the Pearl River Delta Mega City as high as 44 million without the Hong Kong SAR and 54 million including it. Guangzhou is identified as a Beta+ Global city. In recent years, there has been a rapidly increasing number of foreign residents and illegal immigrants from the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia, as well as from Africa. This has led to it being dubbed the Capital of the Third World. The migrant population from other provinces of China in Guangzhou was 40 percent of the city's total population in 2008. Most of them are rural migrants, and they speak only Mandarin.
Guangzhou was long the only Chinese port permitted for most foreign traders. The city proper fell to the British and was opened by the First Opium War. It lost trade to other ports such as Hong Kong and Shanghai, but continued to serve as a major entrepôt. In modern commerce, Guangzhou is best known for its annual Canton Fair, the oldest and largest trade fair in China. For the three consecutive years 2013–2015, Forbes ranked Guangzhou as the best commercial city on the Chinese mainland.
Let's take a proper look at Guangzhou, one of the four 1st tier cities in China...
