First Direct Arena, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK - 25th May, 2013
The First Direct Arena (formerly known as the Leeds Arena) is a 13,500 capacity entertainment focussed arena in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is the first in the United Kingdom to have a fan-shaped orientation. The arena will be opening in the summer of 2013 with a Bruce Springsteen concert, followed by an opening season featuring Elton John, the Kaiser Chiefs and Micky Flanagan.
This video features footage from an open day which was held on Saturday 25th May, and features shots both outside and inside of the arena. Outside, the original architecture is apparent, and inside the large stage area, and 9,000 of the 13,000 seats which the venue can hold are featured in the film, as well as the entrance area.

BAM built the 13,500-seat entertainment venue that will bring world class entertainment to Leeds.
Work on the £60m arena started in February 2011, and the building was topped-out by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth during her Diamond Jubilee tour in 2012.
Leeds Arena will host more than 140 events each year including rock concerts, boxing matches, comedy shows and ice dancing.
BAM has used pioneering building information modelling technology to ensure the most efficient delivery of the arena. We have avoided waste of £350,000 by using BIM to run the entire construction programme virtually, identifying potential problems well in advance.
