The start of my vacation. I couldn’t be more excited. I began on the Qing Ming Holiday (Tomb Sweeting Day) in China. After getting the necessary Starbucks breakfast, I head over to the Leeko Hotel in Xiaolan to catch the free shuttle bus to the Zhongshan Port Ferry Terminal.
Headed over to Hong Kong for a few days, this time I elected to spring for the 1st class cabin. It’s a bit of an upgrade in terms of comfort and amenities, and the additional price isn’t much. However the best thing is that you are allowed to get off the boat before everyone else which means you’re the first one to the immigration lines and ATM.
From there, I took the short walk from the China Ferry Terminal in Kowloon to the Star Ferry to head across to Hong Kong Island where, after many months, I got to visit with my family.

Starting form the Silvermine Beach hotel, Lantau Island, (where I was staying) here are some photo's and videos of the views from the ferry. Starting with a daytime approach of Hong Kong and finishing with night shots leaving Pier 6.
Hong Kong is very impressive both day and night.
