Street Food in Thailand - NIGHT MARKET Thai Food in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

T-shirts and caps:
One of the top things to do in Chiang Mai is walk around and eat through one of the many Chiang Mai night markets - I think Chiang Mai might be the capital of night markets in the world. There’s a night market for every day of the week and some of them stretch longer than you can see.
At night markets in Chiang Mai you’ll find a huge selection of things to buy, from clothes and antiques to even entertainment like music and Thai massage. But for food lovers, the best thing about visiting any Thai night market is the food.
On Sunday night in Chiang Mai the most popular night market is Tha Pae Walking Street (ตลาดท่าแพ) - it really is an entire street that shuts down for a couple of kilometers, and the entire street is filled with things to look at, buy, and eat. Most of the food is set up in designated area, especially in the small courtyards of temples.
In this Thai street food tour of Chiang Mai, the plan was just to walk around and see what looked good to eat.
Here’s what we ate:
Sai krok Isaan (ไส้กรอกอีสาน), Sai ua (ไส้อั่ว) - This impressive cart was filled with different varieties of Thai sausage, both Isaan style sausage, and Northern Thai herb sausage.
Total price - 30 THB ($0.91)
Pork meatballs (ลูกชิ้นหมู) - I’m usually not a huge fan, but these 100% pork meatballs were pretty tasty.
Price - 40 THB ($1.21)
Pork ham (หมูยอ) - After meeting up with my friends Tom, Joel, and JJ, they had already been snacking on some moo yaw, a Vietnamese style ham sausage.
Grilled egg (ไข่ป่าม) - This is a unique Northern Thai food, of grilled egg.
Price - 30 THB ($0.91)
Sticky rice (ข้าวหนุกงา) - One of the Thai snacks I had never tried before were sticky rice patties. They were interesting and quite tasty.
Price - 20 THB ($0.61)
Pork ribs (ซี่โครงหมู), Crab egg custard (อ่องปู) - We saw the ribs being grilled and couldn't’t resist. They were alright, but the paddy crab egg custard was more unique.
Price - 180 THB ($5.46)
Durian (ทุเรียน) - Finally, although a little overpriced, and not season, we couldn’t resist a little nugget of durian to end this Chiang Mai night market Thai food tour.
Price - 200 THB ($6.06)
Featuring Tom from Chaseki Tea ( and Joel (

What is ASMR?
ASMR is a complex name to define a very simple sensation: TINGLES mainly located on the top of the head.
These tingles may be triggered by a lot of things:
⭐ Whispers, slow speech, soft spoken voices
⭐ Massages
⭐ Personal attention from someone
⭐ Watching other people performing simple tasks
⭐ Any type of Role Play
⭐ Haircuts (yes my channel is based on this :) )
and lots more.

WHAT'S LEFT OF AN OLD THAI MARKET | Saphan Khwai, Bangkok, Thailand
This is what's left of an old Thai market in Saphan Khwai, Bangkok, Thailand.
You can see from what's left of the sign at the front that it says RAJCHAVASU MARKET. If I made the letters out correctly, that's the name of this old market.
From the moment you walk into this market, there are restaurants lined up on both sides of the entrance. They are empty at the moment because they are closed.
The lady said they usually open from 4am or 5am in the morning. Till around noon or so.
But the further I went in, the less it looked like a market. I guess it's what's left of what used to be a small bustling market back in the heydays.
Now it looks more like a local residential area with a few shops hidden back here and there.
It's quite sad to see things change.

Floods deteriorate Thai prison conditions
Thailand's floods crisis has affected a growing number of people. Residents of 12 districts out of 50 in Bangkok have been ordered to leave because of rising water levels.
But Thai prisons, notoriously bad already, have been flooded, creating a dangerous situation for prisoners.

Thai Food at Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา) - Don't Miss Aunty's Fried Oyster Omelet!
►Read the blog for details on how you can visit Tha Kha Floating Market:
►Subscribe now for more food videos:
►Camera gear I use:
There are many floating markets you can visit when you’re in Thailand, and even there are some floating markets located right within Bangkok that are very nice (Khlong Lat Mayom is very nice in Bangkok:
Then there are also many floating markets about a 1 or 1.5 hour drive from Bangkok in a province called Samut Songkhram. In Samut Songkhram there are a number of other famous floating markets. Damnoen Saduak is the most famous of all, and it’s very touristy and gets very packed on the weekend. Amphawa is another Thai floating market that’s big and busy. But I wanted to go to a quieter and more peaceful floating market, so we decided to go to Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), located very close to Amphawa.
It was my first time to visit Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), and I was pleasantly surprised by how small, friendly, and local it was. There’s not a whole lot to do, but there are plenty of floating boats serving food and you can also buy lots of fresh ingredients which come from this area.
Along with plenty of Thai food snacks I ate during this tour of Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), the best thing was the hoy tod (หอยทอด), a fried oyster omelet. There’s something about eating an oily fried oyster omelet when you go to a floating market - it’s kind of like going to a sports game and eating a hot dog - they just go so well together.
I also enjoyed the fruits available at the market, especially starfruit, which was likely picked right off the tree of the lady who was selling it.
When you’re in Thailand, if you want to go to a quiet and peaceful floating market that’s not overly busy and still remains quite local Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา) is an amazing option.

Rural Bangkok: Bang Kachao in Samut Prakan, Thailand
We decided to travel from Bangkok to the rural Bang Kachao in Samut Prakan, the black mass you can see at night from Bangkok. It's a crazy place that feels very rural Thailand but it's only 5 mins boat ride from Khlong Toey Pier to Bang Kachao (10 or 20 baht each). The boat driver might've been under the influence of that sweet Chang beer.
We rented a bike on Samut to drive around and explore (150 baht for 1 hour... a bit pricey but oh well). Really cool place to explore and easy to get there. Had some food back on the mainland in Bangkok at Khlong Toey... it's a bit of a slum area, rough, but not as bad as somewhere like the Philippines. Chicken and rice (40 baht) was decent enough.

Additional comments:
$1 moto taxi rides.
I went everywhere via tuk tuk or moto taxi and never paid more than $1 for a trip. Sometimes the tuk tuks on the riverfront will insist on $2 for a short journey.
Phnom Penh is not a place to wander around alone late at night, even around the tourist areas. Cambodia is a much poorer country than Thailand, and reports of incidents against tourists/expats often are suppressed in the news.
Street 136
Some ladies in the Phnom Penh hostess bars are only there for lady drinks, particularly the prettier ladies under 25 years old. It's best to know the score before you start buying them loads of drinks. Other times some girls will only go with Asian customers (eg. Korean, Japanese).
I heard a story about a Phnom Penh hostess bar where a Western guy bought a nice hostess 5 lady drinks, but in the end she wouldn't go to his hotel as she was only a drinks girl. He was really pissed off and was telling everyone about it...

Handmade shoes factory Vietnam
■ SAIGON, VIETNAM: Vietnam's economy is booming with small scale manufacturers popping up everywhere. Jeans, shoes, t-shirts and everything between heaven and earth are made in workshops where workers are laboring away at an impressive 17 hours a day.
So what does it look like inside one of these operations? And how are the good produced?
As Vietnam is quite far behind the West in terms of economic development and only begun the process of industrialization a few decades ago, it should come as no surprise that manufacturing here is a highly labor intensive endeavor.
So join me as I take a closer look at Vietnam's economy by touring a shoe manufacturing business that has been in the hands of the same family for 30 years.
