SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit Feskekôrka (fish church) which is an indoor fish market in Gothenburg, Sweden, and which got its name from the building's resemblance to a Neo-gothic church. It opened on 1 November 1874, and was drawn by the city architect Victor von Gegerfelt. Feskekôrka is an institution in Gothenburg as well as a tourist magnet, housing one of the city's oldest trades, fishing.
Apart from a fish market, there is also a fish- and seafood restaurant in the building.
Sweden is a Scandinavian nation with thousands of coastal islands and inland lakes, along with vast boreal forests and glaciated mountains. Its principal cities, eastern capital Stockholm and southwestern Gothenburg and Malmö, are all coastal. Stockholm is built on 14 islands. It has more than 50 bridges, as well as the medieval old town, Gamla Stan, royal palaces and museums such as open-air Skansen.

Feskekôrka Göteborg - fish church
The fish market hall Feskekôrka, (‘fish church’ in Swedish) is an indoor fish and shellfish market where you can buy all kinds of seafood delicacies caught on the day.
Feskekôrka was built in 1874 and was an architectural experiment the city architect by Victor von Gegerfelt. He was inspired by the wooden Norwegian stave churches and stone Gothic churches. The idea was to have a room without pillars.
