生地たいまつ祭り Ikuji Firewalking Festival
嵐に巻き込まれ遭難寸前だった漁船が、一筋の霊火の明かりにより難をのがれる事ができたという伝説に由来する新治神社の奇祭。10月26日の夜半から大小約400本のたいまつを神社の境内に敷き詰め、その燃えさかるたいまつの中を、厄年の若者にかつがれた神輿が「オタッチョー」（神様がお立ちになる）の掛け声とともに神殿まで駆け抜けます。 Ikuji Firewalking Festival is the festival of Niharu shrine originate in the legend that the fishing boat just before an accident in a storm was able to escape from a difficulty by the light of sacred flame. The approximately 400 torches spread all over the precincts of the shrine, and men who is unlucky year run through torches with carrying a miniature shrine on their shoulders with a shout of Otacyoo (God stands).
