Fisher Towers | Tallest natural towers in the United States
The Titan Tower is a large sandstone natural tower located in Moab, UT. The Titan is the tallest free-standing natural tower in the United States and is one of the Fisher Towers located in Moab, UT.
Hiking at Fisher Towers (near Moab, UT)
Fisher Towers is located near Moab, Utah. It is a natural sandstone structure situated near the Colorado River. It is a rock-climbing mecca for serious climbers and features the Titan, whose famous ascent is called the finger of fate and is named one of the 50 classic climbs of North America. The hike approaches the towers and ventures onward through a system of maze-like narrow ridges that terminate in a panoramic view. A strenuous upward hike to the endpoint marked by a sign on a huge boulder - on hot days when the sun makes the rocks sizzle.

Utah's Scenic Route 128 to Fisher Towers, Castle Valley
Here's the scenic drive along the Colorado River northeast of Moab, Utah. Route 128 follows the river through a canyon, then past some amazing scenery as it heads towards Interstate 70. This drive takes you to Fisher Towers, then the Dewey Suspension Bridge, which is now in ruins, following a fire several years ago.

I made this trip in January 2018. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Fisher Towers in Castle Valley near Moab Utah
Fisher Towers is a 5 star hike near Moab. The Titan is the tallest tower at over 700 feet. There were no climbers on the morning we were visiting, but there are amazing photos of people balancing on the top of Titan and the more dramatic corkscrew top of Ancient Art.
