When in Thailand, there is one thing you can never get enough of; the food! Having traveled around South East Asia for the last few months we have made it a point to go to every market possible. Koh Samui was no different! We went all through Bophut's Fisherman Village trying as much of the local food our stomachs could handle. After we had our fill, we made our way to the shopping side of the market and somehow ended up getting a Thai massage. lol

About Us!

If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Koh Samui Beach what a view dining at the Old Fisherman’s Village Bophut..They have a Friday market night market on Ko Samui one of the main attractions and Bophut beach is no exception you can see the Thai kickboxing and a large choice of many restaurants, bars, shops and Bophut attractions,

I liked it better than Chaweng beach easier to get around at Bophut beach and it has got to be one of the best attractions in Thailand the evening market or local market in Bophut brings many, tourist and local travel, It is one of Koh Samui best sites (sights). Bophut Beach is also great for bikini spotting as well takes on a whole new meaning...????

Fisherman's Village Bophut a Quiet Thailand This is a small area of Koh Samui Some great places to eat and drink. Also some nice little boutique hotels and boutique shops selling some nice clothes. It's a great place to wind down, a little pricier than Chaweng but worth it as all the restaurants and bars are stunning. So much choice so whatever you want it'll be here. Shops are nice too, and the market is fantastic.

This place very much a life at night. I find out that this place was the best area in Ko Samui, lots of restaurants here and on certain days they have night market, the area will full with local cuisine and traditional Thai snack. It is better to sit in a restaurant or bar and enjoy the view over the water than to explore the beach or have dinner on the beach!

Koh Samui attractions - We are at Fisherman´s Village (one of the top attractions for tourists in Koh Samui) at Bophut Beach located on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand. It is late afternoon as we stroll along the walking streets in Fisherman´s Village watching shops, restaurants, cafes and bars preparing for what is always a busy evening in this Bophut Beach tourist magnet.

This is raw video footage with very few edits which means that some panning does occur every now and again (sorry for that). While filming there was so much to see while walking on the road. We tried to capture the daytime atmosphere of Fisherman´s Village and at the same time tried to show the many many lovely, restaurants, bars, cafes and
shops available to tourists visiting this area. We have especially tried to film some of the menus on the sign boards to give travelers an idea of what kinds of foods are available and what kind of prices. Before visiting Fisherman´s Village (located in Bophut) for the first time, I expected that this place would be a tourist trap with high prices and nothing to offer. After visiting the place both during the day and on the Friday Night Market I can highly recommend this place to all travelers holidaying on the island of Koh Samui. There are so many restaurants , bars and cafe´s catering to all tastes and wallets all offering beautiful sea views looking out towards Ko Phangan island.

Whether you are visiting Koh Samui for the first time or whether you have been here many times the Fisherman´s Village Friday Night market is a Must See tourist attraction on Koh Samui. The Fisherman´s Village Night Market is held every Friday starting at 17:00 and ending at 22:00. Tourists come from Chaweng Beach, Lamai Beach and Bophut Beach to see this very famous walking street. Fisherman´s Village lies in the tourist town of Bophut (or Bophut Beach) which lies at the northern part of the island just north of Koh Samui International Airport.

Wiki writes about Fisherman's Village at Bophut Beach, Koh Samui, Bophut is one of the few places on Samui that retains some of the island's original Thai-Chinese atmosphere. It has recently experiencing a boom with new hotels and guesthouses sprouting up at a frantic pace. The traditional core of Bophut, known as the Fisherman's Village, is a charming village on the east side of the beach while the new developments are to the west. In contrast to Chaweng there has been a conscious effort to dissuade the more commercial elements of Thai night life from setting up shop and instead aiming for couples and young families. ..

This footage is filmed on the Thailand island of Koh Samui at Bophut Beach Friday night at the Fisherman's Village Night Market Walking Street bringing Bophut to life every Friday from 5: pm to 11: pm. The market with a diverse range goods available at some very low prices. Many of the stalls sell much the same items as you will find in markets throughout Thailand,
As with all market shopping in Thailand, a certain amount of judgment is needed when selecting your purchases.
Bophut Beach Road is already a great place for shopping with an impressive selection of small local and boutique shops.
The range of food and drink stalls (street food) is particularly impressive, allowing you to enjoy Thai treats like pad Thai, banana pancakes, pizza, tempura seafood, a host of cakes and sweets and a colorful array of street food. Prices are very low
70 baht and cocktails from 80 baht. Price tags across the market generally start low and can usually be negotiated down a little if you’re friendly about it.
The Fisherman’s Village Walking Street the most popular weekly market on Koh Samui and attracts a huge number of tourists but this also creates a great atmosphere, making Bophut Beach Road the liveliest place to be on a Friday evening.

Cocotams is the best restaurant in Koh Samui. The food at Cocotams is western and delicious. Cocotams has 3 bars, one on the beach, another on the main floor and one upstairs.

Cocotams restaurant is located in Fishermans village. This place is a little expensive for food and drinks, however if you are tired of eating pad Thai and want a delicious western meal then this is a great option for you.

Fishermans Village - Bophut Koh Samui

The Fisherman's village on Bophut Beach Koh Samui is small bar and restaurant area that was once the fishing village of Koh Samui.
The old pier is barely there now but you can still see it from the beach.

It has a long narrow street that houses restaurants, bars and souvenir/clothing stores.

The restaurants here do sell a lot of fresh seafood; so if you like seafood with a beach view, then this place is a must visit. It is especially nice because you can see Koh Phangan in the short distance.

Only a few KM's from Chaweng it is easily accessible by a Song Teow or Songthaew (Large Tuk Tuk). During the day you can pay around 50 to 100 baht but at night is is a bit dearer. It is up to you to negotiate a price but if you are with a few people then it is cheaper or if you can speak a little bit of Thai, then that helps to bring the price down.

On Friday nights they close the street off and turn it into a night market. This is when the place comes alive, as stalls are set up all along the street, so you have more variety of food and nic nacs to buy.

Fisherman’s Village Bophut, Koh Samui

This old part of Bophut Beach obviously takes its name from the fact that it was once home to a thriving fishing community. More recently, the fishermen have moved on and the main pier has collapsed, but the old wooden shop houses remain, with a warren of narrow alleys running between many of them, giving the village a charming old look and feel. Every Friday, the area becomes the site of the Fisherman’s Village Walking Street market, offering a great night out for the guests of Anantara Bophut Koh Samui to enjoy the amazing variety of wares and lively atmosphere.

Koh Samui Travel Video - It´s Friday evening and we are at the Fisherman´s Village Friday Night Market (Thai Street Food Market and non-food market) held every Friday at Bophut Beach located on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand. We invite you to join us on a no comments walking tour viewing the huge variety of Thai and international foods available to buy and eat from this very well worth a visit Thai Street Food Night Market, this is Thai Food at it´s best, at least from our (Maxi and Maro) touristy point of view.

The Fishermans Village Night Market (Bophut Night Market) is held every Friday from around 18:00 to 22:00 at Bophut Beach. If you are living at Bophut Beach you should be able to walk there or just take one of the local Tuk Tuks or a taxi. If you are unsure of the location just follow the other tourists walking along the road in one direction or ask one of the local Thai´s who will quickly point you in the right direction.
If you are living in Chaweng Beach or Lamai Beach, the area where Tthe Lamai Sunday Night Market is held on Sundays, we suggest that you take a taxi or also a local TukTuk (Pickup) to Bophut Beach (ask to be driven to Fisherman´s Village). Just tell the driver/s that you are going to the Fishermans Village Friday Night Market. For tourists the taxi should cost 300 Baht from Chaweng Beach and Max 500 Baht from Lamai Beach and the TukTuk price is around 100 Baht from Chaweng and you should be able to negotiate a similar price if you are coming from Lamai Beach. Don´t get to the Fishermans Village Night Market too late, as by the time we had finished filming around 21:30 and were ready to eat many of the delicious Thai Street Foods were already sold out or the vendors were packing up for the evening. Thai food and Thai Street Food lovers this is a night market not to be missed, be sure to visit this weekend market at least once when you are on holiday in Koh Samui, it is without any doubt one of Koh Samuis Top Attractions!
