Fishing BC Presents: Vancouver Fishing Charters with Pacific Angler
From urban culture to the wilds of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver has it all ‘Like stepping back in time’
The beauty of B.C. is that few places are far from the ocean and salmon. Vancouver is no different, and visitors to the province’s largest city have the chance to experience the best of urban culture and wild sport fishing in a one-stop destination.
Jason Tonelli developed his love for fishing with his family — his grandfather taught him to fish for trout on B.C.’s interior lakes — and his business is a family experience as well. He operates Pacific Angler with others in his family, including his sister. His team of guides also becomes part of the family, making the experience of going to work more vacation than chore.
His boats and guides prowl the straights and islands off the southern coast, connecting anglers to the millions of migrating salmon that pass by en route to the rivers of their birth.
“Within five to 25 minutes of leaving the City of Vancouver, it’s like stepping back in time. What a great place to carry out the passion of fishing,” he says.

BC Trip Pt.#4 - Pacific Ocean Fishing & Whale Watching - Aug 5th 2015
Probably the highlight of my trip, with little doubt, was our near 20hr day spent out on the Pacific Ocean near Prince Rupert. Up at 2:30am and we were on the water by 5:30am. We all had a great time with excellent weather catching some good sized Halibut, Cod, Rock Fish and Chinook Salmon among others as well. As evening approached we got a grand send off with over 15 Orca's coming and hanging around the boat. Thank you BC for an excellent time!
