Noosa Offshore Kayak Fishing Tournament 2018
Each year Noosa comp grows bigger. This year there were 60+ entrants! It always seems to be a scorching day with lots of ground to cover but it hasn't disappointed yet with the comp again producing some nice fish even under slow fishing conditions. I think in the end it was around 14 fish caught between 12 competitors. With some nice Spanish Mackerel, Longtail Tuna, Spotted mackerel and Cobia amount the better fish caught. Look forward to Adder Rock in March, The biggest comp of the year!

Noosa Offshore kayak fishing tournament 2017
Noosa comp time! The Palmy Blitz comp got moved due to bad weather so Noosa was the first kayak fishing tournament of the year and it didn't disappoint. For the past 3 years it has had the most consistent good weather and plenty of fish zipping around. This year was more of the same with Velvet blue water at 26ºish and a day clearing up for blue skies for the most part of the day.
I had plenty of hits but just could not hold on to the fish, no Spanish or Spotties made it to the boat but I was gifted a great Dolphin Fish for my trouble which had me smiling back on the beach.
There was some great catches with 2 Spanish Mackerel going over the 130cm mark and reports of a tussle with a Black Marlin. Big thanks to the AKS crew for putting on such a great event and congratulations to the winners and all the fellow competitors.
This video reaches new levels of me crapping on to the camera so feel free to let me know if your enjoying the talking or any constructive critics in the comments below... If anyone actually reads this stuff :)

The Lows and Highs of Jetski Fishing - Noosa Jet Ski Fishing
After several days out fishing over the last 2 months and not finding any decent fish, I finally had a great day out chasing the pelagics off Noosa, Queensland. After crossing the Noosa River bar, I headed north and managed to find some reasonable size mackerel.
Highs and lows...although I lost a few nice fish, I finally landed a nice Spotted Mackerel using live bait. Highlights of the day are in the video.
Hope you enjoy! Please like and subscribe to see more!
For the interested viewers, I ride a Yamaha FXHO 2019 model expertly fitted out by Shoreline Yamaha from Brisbane. It has several mods for jetski fishing including an additional 25 litre long range fuel tank (giving a total of 95 litres capacity and a range of some 180 klms or more) , GME 25W VHF radio, navigation lights, dual batteries, and a tow tap. I always carry the regulation safety gear including wearing a Personal Location Beacon (PLB) and of course the mobile phone!
All the jet ski fishers I know do their best to drive carefully and respectfully around other boat fisherman and all water users.
FISHING THE NOOSA RIVER- HOOKED UP TV -WINTER SERIES
In this episode of the Hooked Up Tv - Winter Series we travel Noosa in South east Queensland to meet up with long time Hooked Up contributor Greg Carter to fish the Noosa River to target Australian bass, yellowfin bream and golden trevally. The Noosa River is one of Australia's best light line sport fisheries.
Stealth Summer Series Kayak Fishing Competition - Noosa Australia 2015
The Stealth Summer Series is a 2 stage kayak fishing competition, the first leg is run in Noosa on the sunshine coast of Queensland, Australia. Its is one of the few offshore kayak fishing competitions in OZ and is one of the highlights of the year for me.
This year I was lucky enough to find the fish, with a couple of slow takers while trying to figure out the somewhat finicky mood of the fish, but once I had my tactics down it was a walk in the park.
When back on the beach it was great to see the fleet of 40+ Skis all lined up with plenty of fish caught. My 5 Spotties and 1 Spanish were enough to put me into first place taking the day :)
Big Thanks to the Stealth guys for putting on such a great event and for signing me up for 2015. Also to Penn Australia, Uglystik Rods and Pulsator Lures for the support in 2015.
All the fish were sheared out and enjoyed by fellow competitors and the Lifeguards.

King Fish, Snapper, Jew and Tusk Fish with Fish The Deep Charters Gold Coast
Some of the highlights from our day out with Fish The Deep fishing charters on the Gold Coast... Jai, Krystle The Brisbane River Girl and myself managed to land a mixed bag of mid sized reef species fishing in 70-100m of water out from the seaway... We start off the vid with Jai doing bait duty followed by me putting the bait to good use with a massive hit that i unfortunately dropped shortly after... The first fish landed we left unedited to show how long it took to actually get the fish up! A far cry from the kind of fishing we are used to... All in all a fantastic experience that I definitely want to enjoy again! Many thanks to the boys from Fish The Deep... Very professional and always ready to jump in when needed... Snag'd Ep. 17. Noosa Reef Fishing - Sunshine and Jew Shoal.
Every now and then you slap on a bit of bait to have a good time.
We took the Tinny out early Sunday Morning with the 300 other boats and found a nice patch of action using the Lowerance Elite Ti2. We used a 2 hook snell rig using 6.0 Demon Hooks.
