Pokaz slajdów z miejsca, w którym mieszkam. Narvik to miasteczko położone 240 km za Kołem Podbiegunowym nad Morzem Norweskim na wybrzeżu Ofotfjord'u. Właśnie nad tym fiordem mieszkam i możecie go podziwiać na fotkach. :)

Kabinenbahn Narvik - Narvikfjellet (Norwegen)

Narvik ist eine Stadt im norwegischen Nordland, unweit der Grenze zu Schweden. Bekannt ist die Stadt am Ofotfjord aus historischer Sicht vor allem für die Schlacht von Narvik im zweiten Weltkrieg. Weitaus weniger bekannt dürfte die Tatsache sein, dass die Hafenstadt auch ein Skigebiet mit Meerblick besitzt. Eine Gruppenumlaufbahn, eine Sesselbahn und eine Reihe an Skiliften erschliessen die Hänge des Narvikfjellet bis in eine Höhe von rund 1000 Meter.

Die Gruppenumlaufbahn, die als Zubringer als auch als Beschäftigungsanlage dient, ist auch in den Sommermonaten in Betrieb. Sie besitzt ihre Talstation östlich des Stadtzentrums von Narvik in 124 Metern Höhe. Die Anlage von Doppelmayr weist vier Gruppen mit je drei sechsplätzigen Kabinen auf und endet in 650 Metern Höhe, wo sich ein Bergrestaurant befindet. 1995 gebaut ersetzte die Bahn eine kuppelbare Kabinenbahn vom Schweizer Konstrukteur Gerhard Müller, von der auch heute noch Überreste in Form von Fundamenten zu finden sind.

Die Hauptattraktion im Sommer stellt die Mitternachtssonne dar, die man in Narvik von Anfang Juni bis Mitte Juli erleben kann. Aufgrund der Lage nördlich des Polarkreises geht die Sonne in dieser Zeit nicht unter. Aus diesem Grund besitzt die Bahn auch einen etwas ungewöhnlichen Fahrplan – geöffnet ist sie von 13 Uhr nachmittags bis ein Uhr nachts.
