Puerto Rico Flamenco Beach in Culebra Culebrita Part 2 #ineedvacations
Caribbean Part 2 of search for the best beach in Puerto Rico. Ferry from Fajardo to Culebra. Visit to Flamenco beach and Culebrita Island.
Welcome to a second part of my video from Puerto Rico where I continue search for a perfect 10 out of 10 beach
Jan has been in this island before and he already know some good spots to visit
The first place we are going to is Zoni Beach. From the first view this beach is looking good but our sad faces telling you that we are not happy. The sea weed amount do not even allow us to go inside the water, beside that I would not like to swim with sea weed around me.
We are quickly making another plan and hoping that next beach will not have that problem.
Im coming back in the video to this beach but first I’m going with Jan to the ferry port to buy his tonight return ticket.
Remember guys from the port? I’ve meet them again at another beach and with my power of persuasion they agreed to stay overnight in Culebra. This means I found company who can share the cost of the water taxi to Culebra.
The cost of the ferry including the car is 22 dollars. The problem is that you can’t buy ticket online and you have to be there in the line. The ferry ride is very rough but that depends on the waves. Today the sea is calm but still some people are not felling well. If you have motion sickness I suggest you to sit outside because fresh air might help you deal with the problem.
Being on the top deck make the journey refreshing and gives you great views for small islands.
My goal is to get to the Culebrita island and it is not easy find somebody with a boat to get me there. I did ask many local people but it is not easy.

One tip I have for you all is to purchase your departing and return ferry when you purchase the departing ferry. It will save you time when you are leaving Culebra and you don't have to worry about them running out of tickets. But make sure to keep track of your ticket because it will have the departing and return info on the same ticket.
I hope you all enjoy Culebra as much as we did!

CULEBRA ISLAND Beaches and Snorkeling
CULABRA ISLAND!!!
What an amazing location to for finding some of the best beaches that Puerto Rico has to offer. Our goal for Culebra was to visit the best beaches, snorkeling spots and places to get good food. Our journey took us to Honeymoon Beach, Tamarindo, Tamarindo Grande, Carlos Rosario, and the famous Flamenco Beach. We rented a Jeep for $80 a day which gave us the best flexibility to make our way around the island. We also had the opportunity to go listen to the whales with a local guide. This is a really amazing island, and well worth a visit to get there.

Day 3/6 Culebra, Flamenco Beach Puerto Rico
Day3/6 (Sept 22,2109)
We started our trip to Cieba around 630am. Our map said that it will be a hour 4 trip along the coast and inland.
It started out as a bright and sunny day.
When we got to Ponce, which is a bigger town with tons of familiar stores, our map took us to the back road. We thought it was because of a marathon set for that day.
We saw couple of horses untied and just hanging out lol.
We saw abandoned spaces. We had to turn back around because the roads were getting too bumpy with alot of potholes and our Kia rental car(which I enjoyed) wouldn't be able to handle.
Before we headed up the mountains, we stopped over at a local Walgreen's to buy some snacks and lip balm lol
We then drove up the mountains and it was breathtaking! from the houses on the cliff, chickens on the road to super steep driveway that leads up to houses! We were blown away!
the trees looked lush and untouched. The breeze were cool!
The street was tight and I could only imagine living there! It was a amazing, memorable and a beautiful side of Puerto Rico!
After that, roads became flat again. And this time, rain decided to join the trip! it was raining hard. Something I was used to back in the Philippines.
It took us to a grand valley which I hoped we stopped at and took photos and videos then to small towns by the coast.
After 4 beautiful hours trecking, we finally made it to the Port of Cieba.
To park our car for 2 days, I believe we paid around 24$? I booked our ferry 2 days before.
You can only book 2 days in advance( porferry.com) I also bought luggage tickets for 1$ each. I think the ticket one way to Culebra was 4$.
A shuttle will take you from the parking lot which was .01mile from the waiting station.
From my research, I was skeptical and cautious about how they port operates but to our surprise, it went smooth and super organized. Employees were friendly and easy to talk to. They we so willing to assist!
We then went to the ferry and decided to sit on the deck under a shade. I have motion sickness and fresh air with dramamine are my BFFS.
After 45mins, we landed in Culebra!
There was alot of people offering taxi ride to Flamenco Beach for 3$ plus 2$ entrance fee t the beach and all of these are LEGIT! You can get your own taxi, just ask for taxis number or even rent a Jeep Wrangler for 90$/day or a golf cart for 50$/ day plus insurance(which we did)
My brother and I decided to walk around to a restaurant only to find out that most busines were already closed due to a storm alert for the next day.
Fortunately, a receptionist from a hotel told us that a food truck is open a block away.
I am so grateful for that food truck because that served our lunch and our dinner!
We also made it to Milka's grocery store and bought OJ, water and paper towels.
From there, I called a taxi service. The driver was awesome. He drove to his house first and pretty much gave us a private tour in his neighborhood.
From the grocery store to our villa, he charged us 15$.
I booked our villa on Airbnb. It was literally by the beach. It was secluded from the public side which made it feel more exclusive.
We then went to see Flamenco Beach and it did not disappoint. sand was so soft that it felt like soft foam that shapes to your foot as you walk on it. Water was clear. I am colorblind so I couldnt remember the shade of it.
I was told by the people and owners of the other villas that Sept is low season. So most owners are fixing and upgrading their villas.
late June to Nov is low season due to hurricane and Sept it peak of it.
They also said the Flamenco is like a pool with calm waters when its not hurricane season.
We rented a golf cart hoping to drive to the lighthouse but it was raining hard that night and there wasn't alot of streets lights there.
We got a call from AirBnB in Puerto Rico asking us to have a plan to leave the island due to wether alert.
after couple of hours of discussions and refund confirmation, I book a hotel and ferry back to Cieba for the next day.
That night, we just watched tv(there were 4-6 channels in our tv), checked our photos and videos and called it a night!
