Bataan: Limay to Layac
This segments starts from Limay Public Market passing via N301: Roman Superhighway up to World War II Last Stand Memorial in Layac, Dinalupihan, Bataan. Be advised that there is a strict 80KPH speed limit along Roman Superhighway & the authorities are serious in their apprehensions of those breaking that limit.
The highway is a bypass the different towns in Bataan. Passed the following towns:
• Limay: is a 1st class municipality in the province of Bataan having 12 barangays. Limay's attractions, events and historical landmarks include: 1935 Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church, 263 hectares military reservation (the DND Arsenal - Government Arsenal), Tikip and Biga Waterfalls, Bataan Limay Refinery Project, 140-megawatt power plant & Mariveles Mountain Complex to name a few.
• Orion: is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Bataan with 23 barangays.
o The Saint Michael parish church is a 19th-century church located at Brgy. San Vicente.
o Orion celebrates the feast of Saint Michael (Apo Ige) every 8th day of May (feast now also called Bakawan Festival).
• Pilar: is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Bataan with 19 barangays. One of the oldest towns of Bataan, Pilar was previously part of Pampanga. Spaniards in the galleon landed in a sitio of Balanga and were greeted by the natives. The place was named in the honor of the image of the Our Lady of the Pillar, hence the town was called Pilar. Landmarks and festivals of Pilar include: Mount Samat National Shrine, The Flaming Sword, Dunsulan Falls & Araw ng Kagitingan.
• City of Balanga: the capital of Bataan, was formerly a village of Abucay before it was established as a mission of the Dominican Order in the Provincial Charter of April 21, 1714, and later declared a vicariate on April 18, 1739, under the patronage of Saint Joseph. The word Balanga originates from the Kapampangan word balañga (clay pot, or banga in Tagalog), which the town used to produce, and which were among the best that can be found in the country.
• Abucay:
The first printing press in the Archipelago was found in this town. Tomas Pinpin, the first Filipino printer, learned the art from Fray Francisco Blanca de San Jose and Juan de Vera, a Chinese printer at the University of Santo Tomas.
One of the oldest in the Philippines, the first Abucay Church - Saint Dominic de Guzman Parish Church
was established in 1587 and was administered by the Dominicans in 1588. The present church was built sometime in the early 1600s, the exact year is still unknown. The Church was badly damaged by the earthquake of September 16, 1852, and again by a fire in 1870. Father Jose Diego Pelaez rebuilt the church.
• Samal: is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bataan with 14 barangays. The 1596 Parish Church of Saint Catherine of Siena belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Balanga.
• Orani: The 1714 Orani Church, commonly known as the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Church of Orani (Our Lady of the Rosary of Orani, Nuestra Señora del Rosario Parish Church, Church of Orani or Virgen Milagrosa Del Rosario del Pueblo de Orani Shrine) is a Neoclassical (heritage) Diocesan Marian Shrine and Pilgrimage church (recognized by the 1959 Vatican's Papal Bull, located in Poblacion).
Death March Marker (Silahis), Bataan Death March. Kaparangan was used as a temporary prisoners’ camp by the Japanese soldiers starting on April 11, 1942, the second day of the infamous “Death March”. To commemorate the pitiful event, the National Historical Institute constructed a bronze memorial at the corner of Barangay Silahis and the Bataan National Road in 1987.
• Hermosa: is a 1st class municipality in the province of Bataan with 23 barangays. Hermosa's cultural treasure is its 1717 heritage - Saint Peter of Verona Parish Church. The church features a baroque-style façade with stained-glasses windows. The major retablo of Hermosa is made more attractive by the variations of saints placed in it amid its dome. The church brings remembrance of the colonial past.
• Dinalupihan: is a 1st class municipality in the province of Bataan with 46 barangays. Interesting points & landmarks are Battle of Bataan, Layac Junction marker, World War II First Line of Defense Memorial (Battle of Bataan - Battle of Layac Junction, January 6, 1942), 38th Infantry Division (United States) marker, Layac Junction & Roosevelt Protected Landscape, also known as Roosevelt Park, is the location shooting of Enchanted Garden, to name a few.

BATAAN LOOP RIDE DAY 1 | SISIMAN LIGHT HOUSE | AGWAWAN BEACH
WHAT-IS-UP...!
This is our Bataan Loop Ride Day 1
We are start from Bulacan to Agwawan Beach. A clockwise loop of Bataan. Our initial plan is to leave Norzgaray around 12nn but one of the 3 man crew Rider Rideran Vlogs decided to have a quick ride in Marilaque so we wait for him. Unfortunately something came up and advice me and LAMBAT to move-on and we will see him at Bataan
We decided to take the San Fernando-Bataan rd. because riding in SCTEX was boring (expensive toll fee too).
Our First Stop was in Sto. Domingo Church in Abucay Bataan. A historical chuch in the late 15th century. We also have lunch in the near by Restaurant
JUANITO'S KICHENETTE
FOOD: ★★★
PLACE:★★★★
PARKING:★★★★
PRICE:★★★★
Next Stop was the St. Joseph Cathedral located in the heart of the Bataan's Capital Balanga. Balanga is famous for having strict restriction for cigarette smoking and l littering.
We Also visit the Flaming Sword of Bataan. I was build to symbolize the courage and gallantry in the face of external trials. Try to search the Bataan Death March to know more.
We reach our final destination just in time for sunset but sadly our drones wont cooperate, we still manage to get some free shots
We didn't reserve any hotels or place to stay to add more excitement to the ride. After search all over the place , we secure a place called 5k Resort. Since we don't have a choice we take the place. Care taker told us a whopping Php3000 for 1 night stay but we were able to got discounts. Many things happens that night which I will try to tell on the next vlog.

PILAR ESPADA AND PILAR CHURCH HERE IN BATAAN!!!
Philippines - Ritual Of Flagellation
T/I: 10:00:30 FE 10:15:58
Catholic Filipinos began a bloody, 3-day ritual on Thursday (4/4) to recall and honour the suffering of Christ on the cross. In several provinces people gathered in the streets and beat themselves with sharp objects. Many had blood streaming from face and body wounds inflicted with broken glass, razor blades and other home-made weapons. The flagellants carry out this self abuse annually on Maundy Thursday - the Thursday before Easter - which Catholics celebrate in memory of the Last Supper. In the Philippines, the abusive rituals are also considered a way for devotees to atone for their sins. As well as self-flagellation devotees walked the streets barefoot, wearing crowns of thorns.
