A Flooded Flatform Mill
Flatford Mill, Suffolk
Situated on the River Stour, 1 mile south of the village of East Bergholt, where, in 1776, the painter John Constable was born. The mill was operated by the painter's father, and it was here that Constable painted 'Flatford Mill' and 'The Hay Wain'. The scene has little changed, and 'Willy Lott's cottage' made famous by 'The Hay Wain is today a field-study centre.
