South Fork Horseshoe Creek mountain bike trail Driggs, Idaho
Great little out n back or use it to connect to other trails in the area. A little over 4 and a half miles one way. Has some grueling uphills but the descent more than makes up for it! Located in the Big Holes west of Driggs. Close to a 1400' descent over 4 miles. Sounds like I had the mic in a bad spot, you can hear it banging on the bike most of the time. Sorry, I'm still learning.

Legacy of American Eugenics: Buck v. Bell in the Supreme Court
This presentation, The Legacy of American Eugenics: Buck v. Bell in the Supreme Court, was given by Dr. Paul A. Lombardo on Thursday, February 9th, 2012, in Kahn Auditorium in the A. Alfred Taubman Biomedical Research Science Building at The University of Michigan. Dr. Lombardo discussed details of the Buck case, and how it became one of the symbolic high points for the eugenic movement in the United States as the keynote address for the opening reception of the Holocaust Memorial Museum Exhibit Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race, hosted by the Taubman Health Sciences Library at the University of Michigan from February 3, 2012 through April 3, 2012.
The Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race exhibit includes a segment on Buck v. Bell, the 1927 United States Supreme Court case that endorsed state laws mandating the eugenic sterilization of feebleminded and socially inadequate people in state institutions. That case and the laws that it validated preceded the 1934 Nazi law for sterilizing the 'hereditarily diseased under which more than 400,000 operations occurred in Nazi Germany.

GEORGE WILL: THE FUTURE OF CONSERVATISM
This program is part of our Ethics and Accountability series, underwritten by the Travers Family Foundation.
George Will has been a columnist for The Washington Post since 1974 and is one of the most influential political pundits today. He is vocally dissatisfied with the directions that both the American Right and Left have dragged the nation. His new book, The Conservative Sensibility, asks Americans to revisit their history books and remind themselves of the values America was founded upon—values which he sees both sides of the aisle straying dangerously far from.
The book covers everything from the natural rights of man and the history of American democracy to the modern capitulation of congressional checks on the power of the executive. He believes the solution to many of the high-profile political issues of today can be found by going back to the founders’ intentions for the nation, and by grounding modern solutions more solidly in a historical context.
People of all political affiliations have found themselves in agreement with much of what he has to say. Join us for a conversation with one of the most respected journalists and political commentators in the nation.

SUMMARY
=======
Aleister Crowley (; born Edward Alexander Crowley; 12 October 1875 – 1 December 1947) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist, and mountaineer. He founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century. A prolific writer, he published widely over the course of his life.
Born to a wealthy family in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Crowley rejected his parent's fundamentalist Christian Plymouth Brethren faith to pursue an interest in Western esotericism. He was educated at the University of Cambridge, where he focused his attentions on mountaineering and poetry, resulting in several publications. Some biographers allege that here he was recruited into a British intelligence agency, further suggesting that he remained a spy throughout his life. In 1898 he joined the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, where he was trained in ceremonial magic by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers and Allan Bennett. Moving to Boleskine House by Loch Ness in Scotland, he went mountaineering in Mexico with Oscar Eckenstein, before studying Hindu and Buddhist practices in India. He married Rose Edith Kelly and in 1904 they honeymooned in Cairo, Egypt, where Crowley claimed to have been contacted by a supernatural entity named Aiwass, who provided him with The Book of the Law, a sacred text that served as the basis for Thelema. Announcing the start of the Æon of Horus, The Book declared that its followers should Do what thou wilt and seek to align themselves with their True Will through the practice of magick.
After an unsuccessful attempt to climb Kanchenjunga and a visit to India and China, Crowley returned to Britain, where he attracted attention as a prolific author of poetry, novels, and occult literature. In 1907, he and George Cecil Jones co-founded an esoteric order, the A∴A∴, through which they propagated Thelema. After spending time in Algeria, in 1912 he was initiated into another esoteric order, the German-based Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), rising to become the leader of its British branch, which he reformulated in accordance with his Thelemite beliefs. Through the O.T.O., Thelemite groups were established in Britain, Australia, and North America. Crowley spent the First World War in the United States, where he took up painting and campaigned for the German war effort against Britain, later revealing that he had infiltrated the pro-German movement to assist the British intelligence services. In 1920 he established the Abbey of Thelema, a religious commune in Cefalù, Sicily where he lived with various followers. His libertine lifestyle led to denunciations in the British press, and the Italian government evicted him in 1923. He divided the following two decades between France, Germany, and England, and continued to promote Thelema until his death.
Crowley gained widespread notoriety during his lifetime, being a recreational drug experimenter, bisexual and an individualist social critic. He was denounced in the popular press as the wickedest man in the world and a Satanist. Crowley has remained a highly influential figure over Western esotericism and the counterculture, and continues to be considered a prophet in Thelema. He is the subject of various biographies and academic studies.
University Challenge S45E10 Reading vs Imperial
You know, I realize JP has never been a science guy, but he seemed to find Imperial's team to be enigmatic. Get that nerd stereotype, yet he held some reserved kind of respect on them. Yes, this week we have an interesting team from Reading University playing against team of physicist (yay!) from Imperial College, London. Seriously, this has been the most stereotypically nerdy of the recent series, even if you count that Latvian guy from first episode. This makes me happy, indeed. Original air date 14.9.2015

A Story of Success in Reversing Urban Health Disparities
March 1, 2017
Gerard Clancy
Where you live in a particular U.S. city determines your predicted life expectancy. Neighborhood is destiny, in a way. For example, in New Orleans, there is a twenty-five-year difference in life expectancy from one parish to another only three miles away. This pattern of great gaps in health status, even over short distances, repeats itself in New York, Chicago, the Bay Area, and many other American cities, with harsh consequences.
In 2005, Tulsa, Oklahoma was one of the first cities to recognize such dramatic neighborhood variations in life expectancy, with a fourteen-year difference in life expectancy between north Tulsa and midtown—and to take action. In this presentation, Dr. Gerard Clancy describes specific initiatives and lessons learned on the ten-year journey, from 2005 to 2015, to reverse these health disparities and improve the health of the people in north Tulsa. The successes of the past decade have inspired a new ten-year initiative in Tulsa focused on mental health system improvements.
Co-presented with the Brodie Medical Education Award Committee, the Academy of Distinguished Educators, and the Department of Medicine
