vlog oldwhitehairs, The Melbourne Cup Race at Flemington racecourse Victoria Australia 2017. The Race that stops the Nation!!The Melbourne Cup is Australia's biggest horse race and is held every year on the first Tuesday of November. This years race was worth in excess of 6 million dollars, attracting horses from all over the world. This years race was one by a 3 year old gelding named Rekindling, an overseas horse. from Ireland giving Ireland it's third win, and the horses owner his sixth victory.
Trains and buses at Flemington Racecourse - Melbourne Transport
In this video we see some trains and buses at Flemington Racecourse. Usually Flemington Racecourse station is used only for special events at Flemington Racecourse including the horse races and music festivals and other events. During the construction of the Regional Rail Link it was used as an interchange point where Sunbury line passengers change for buses to Sunshine and Albion via Ballarat Road where a temporary bus lane was set up.
On this paticular day we mostly see buses from Dysons including Scania L113CRL's, Scania L94UB's, Mercedes Benz O405NH's. We also see some Reservoir Bus Company (also part of the Dysons empire) Volvo B10BLE's with Custom Coaches 550 bodies and a couple of other buses from Cranbourne Transit, Sita Buslines and Tullamarine Bus Lines.
At the station plaform we see Comeng and Siemens trains running services to and from the city. We also see one of the semaphore signals in use, one of the last on the metropolitain rail network before being phased out as part of resignalling of the line in June 2014.
