Tonsley Rail Line to Flinders Interchange Station in Bedford Park Greater Adelaide Video Jun 2017
Woodland Park Railway Station is the logical interchange for passengers on the Seaford Line and Tonsley Line.
Currently not all Seaford Line trains stop at Woodlands Park Station whilst all Tonsley Line Trains stop at the Station.
The 30 minute frequency on the Tonsley Line will probably be increased when the line is extended to the Flinders Station at Bedford Park.
Flinders University and the attached teaching hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, has a large number of people who commuting each day.
Flinders Medical Centre has
* 580 public bed Public Hospital
* 130 bed Private Hospital.
* 3,500 Staff
The Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) Emergency Department is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
It is the obstetric trauma centre for South Australia and a designated state trauma centre.
Approximately 200 people attend the ED each day:
* 21% are less than 15 years of age
* 43% are admitted to a hospital
* 38% are admitted to FMC
Flinders University in 2016 had
* 20,198 Students
* 3,093 on-shore Overseas Students
* 1,114 Academic Staff
* 1,479 Professional Staff.
The Bedford Park is the site of their main Campus.
New buildings are being built at their Tonsley Campus (part of previous Mitsubishi Car assembly).
Flinders University also has a presence at 182 Victoria Square in the CBD.
Tonsley is also the campus for Technical and Further Education (TAFE)
Clovelly Park Railway Station on the Tonsley Line is the closest to Tonsley Campus
The proposed Flinders Station in Bedford Park is a logical place for Buses & Train Interchange. It is within walking distance of the Flinders Medical Centre and the Flinders University.

FLEX - Flinders Express
Take a ride on a driverless shuttle, FLEX - Flinders Express.
In a 'first mile — last mile' public transport trial, Flinders University has partnered with the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, RAA and several industry project supporters to provide a driverless shuttle at Flinders University’s Tonsley and Bedford Park campuses.
The Tonsley stage of the trial has now started and will see the shuttle used on public roads between the nearby Clovelly Park Train Station and Tonsley’s Main Assembly Building (MAB), then connections to bus stops on South Road and businesses within the Tonsley Innovation District.
Bookings for rides on the driverless shuttle are available from 10am until 2pm, weekdays.
Book today and participate in a research study aimed at increasing public awareness and confidence in the technology, achieving integration with current road and public transport systems, and being carbon neutral.

Flinders Solar Carpark — construction timelapse
A new car-port at Flinders University's Bedford Park campus will generate electricity from its 4,136 solar panels, while also providing bonus shade protection for student's cars.
One of SA's largest solar arrays to date, the 1.8MW system will generate the equivalent of 19.3% of the university's core campus needs.
The $4.895m array is expected to pay for itself within 7 years, and will continue to generate electricity over an expected 25 year lifetime.

Flinders University’s New Plaza and Student Hub - construction begins
Construction began on Flinders University’s new Plaza and Student Hub – one of the highest profile transformation projects Flinders has embarked on since its establishment in 1966. A 2,000-seat terraced amphitheatre for outdoor concerts and night cinema screenings, a rooftop garden and a variety of study spaces, will be at the centre of Flinders University’s exciting new Plaza Redevelopment and Student Hub.
Due for completion in Semester 1, 2016 – the major development will create a new heart for the University’s Bedford Park campus. With a focus on student interaction, engagement, services and community events, the new plaza will be a vibrant place in which to learn, connect and play.
