Visit to Sentosa island Singapore
Sentosa is an island resort off Singapore’s southern coast, connected to the city by road, cable car, pedestrian boardwalk and monorail. By Sentosa Station, Tiger Sky Tower has panoramic views that can stretch as far as Indonesia. On the south coast, Palawan Beach is lined with food stalls and bars, and has a suspension bridge to a small offshore island. Palm-lined, crescent-shaped Tanjong Beach is more tranquil.
Where did these disgusting seaweed came from ? PALAWAN SENTOSA : seaweed season Beach
Palawan Beach Sentosa and it is Seaweed Seasoning on the palawan beach
Wow don't gross over it , it's actually really fun !
The kids are harvesting the floating seaweeds from the beach and there's a proud little girl showing me how she could swim backwards in the sea.
I am so surprised she could do it. Good job.
We even made a seaweed booby trap and make sure someone would step into it. LOL ! That's a fun state in Sentosa indeed.
Ah the bridge to the southern actually leads you the the most southern spot of Singapore island. Check them out and I love the great view on the horizon from Palawan Beach.

letsgo!
Hey guys! Ready for another round? I am conducting the LET'S:GO expedition on the 6th April 2013. This is the 3rd CS overnight cycling expedition and my 5th time leading a CS cycling expedition. Last time, we went to The Bridge at Clarke Quay. This time, we will be going to Pahlawan Beach @ Sentosa Island.
We will be renting mountain bikes from a bike rental shop near Burger King along East Coast Road (expect to pay around $10-$18) and we will traverse towards the South-east to Marina Barrage, cutting through Gardens By The Bay, around the Marina basin area before heading to a Satay Club supper at the popular local food place Lau Pa Sat. Then straight to Sentosa Island.
Meetup point is at Burger King along East Coast Road at 8:30pm. Please have your dinner before we depart.
UPON ARRIVAL PLS RENT YOUR OWN BICYCLE FIRST. REQUEST FOR OVERNIGHT BICYCLE. IT IS A FLAT RATE. NOT BY PER HOUR.
If you are late and the rental shop closes before you get your bike, too bad! I am not planning to reserve any bike for anyone.
The total distance we will cover this time is 35km and it will take us around 8-10 hours depending on our pace and break time. My target is to reach back in time for a nice breakfast and the first bus home. There are various scenic spots along the way. The major landmarks are:
- Playground @ Bigsplash
- Tanjong Rhu Riverside
- Cosy Bay Bridge
- Singapore Indoor Stadium
- Gardens by the Bay (East)
- Marina Barrage
- Gardens by the Bay (South)
- Singapore Arts and Sciences Museum
- Marina Bay Sands Hotel
- Lau Pa Sat (Supper break)
- Old Tanjong Pagar Railway Station
- St James Power Station
- Sentosa Boardwalk
- Universal Studios Singapore
- Resorts World Sentosa
- Siloso Beach
- Helix Bridge
- Marina Floating Platform
- Singapore Flyer
- F1 Pit Building/Track
- Nicoll Highway
- Kallang Leisure Park (Last rest stop)
Disclaimer: The distance we are covering is longer than usual, 35km. All the way to Sentosa. There is also several slopes we must conquer as well as some flight of stairs you have to carry your bike. Needless to say, participants have to be at least a small level of fitness. It's a long ride. So please hydrate yourself.
What to bring:
- Wear neon coloured/light coloured and comfortable outfit
- Trackshoes or slippers/flip flops is ok
- $$ for bike rental (or bring your own bike)
- $$ for food
- Water Bottle for hydration
- Camera
How to get here:
Go to Bedok Bus Interchange (next to Bedok MRT Station) and take bus 401. The bus is a special bus that runs only during the weekends. Alight the bus after 13 or 14 stops. You will see a burger king outlet with a drive-through.

SINGAPORE NEW YEAR 2020 COUNTDOWN @ MBS | ESPLANADE | MARINA BARRAGE
6 free places to catch the fireworks this NYE without squeezing with the crowd in Singapore
1. THE ESPLANADE ROOF TERRACE
Make your way up to the roof of The Esplanade in the evenings, where you’d be greeted by a tranquil site that is peppered with soft warm light, green foliage and landscaped gardens.
Best of all, this sweet spot gives a magnificent birds-eye view of the city skyline and Marina Bay.
While waiting for the perfect explosion of colours in the sky, you can also chill and dine at the many bars around the area.
The Esplanade Roof Terrace
8 Raffles Avenue, 039802
2. MARINA BARRAGE
Another great spot you can explore is the Marina Barrage.
This sprawling roof top garden is an appropriate distance away from the madding crowd, but is still near enough for you to catch the visual spectacle from the Countdown party.
One thing to note however: Although spacious, your view might be slightly obstructed by the Marina Bay Sands building. Small price to pay, right?
Marina Barrage
8 Marina Gardens Drive, 018951
3. MERLION PARK
Although the Helix Bridge is the best spot to be, given that it’s positioned just beside the floating platform, it’s also going to be crazily packed.
Try the Jubilee Bridge and Merlion Park for an equally picturesque view and say hi to the iconic 8.6-metre tall Merlion which spouts water from its mouth into the bay below.
The spot won’t be very comfortable — you might find yourself standing for hours as you wait — but the amazing pyrotechnics display will be worth the effort.
Merlion Park
1 Fullerton, 049213
4. BAY EAST GARDEN
This somewhat-secret spot situated opposite the Supertree Grove, the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome is a popular location for couples, cyclists and runners.
Offering sweeping views of the Marina Bay skyline, the beautifully landscaped space is a tranquil respite.
There are acres of space along the two-kilometre-long promenade, so you don’t have to fear jostling with the crowd.

If you prefer heading down south instead, you can try to get a view of the fireworks from the Siloso Beach party on Sentosa.
While waiting for the stroke of midnight, have a nice meal at VivoCity (the mall closes at 10 pm) on the mainland and take a stroll along the 300m waterfront boardwalk that has a panoramic view of the sea and Sentosa.
If you’re looking to unwind with a few drinks, there’re also plenty of bars around.

6. FABER PEAK
Located in the Telok Blangah area in the central region of Singapore, the peak of Mount Faber, Faber Peak, is a great choice if you want to avoid the crowd and take your fireworks experience to new heights.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try hiking up on foot. Otherwise, it’s a quick five-minute car ride to the top from its base.
Standing at 106 metres above sea level, you can count on this hilltop destination to grant you a good view of the picturesque fireworks show. What’s more, it’s going to be a refreshing experience to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Before that, give their restaurants — Dusk Restaurant & Bar and Arbora— a go. Surrounded by lush greenery with a selection of Western and European cuisine and great sunset views, it’ll be a romantic end to the year.
