Eggs and flour festival in Spain ????????
Spanish Carnival Holds Annual Flour Fight
The fight of flour, as the first of the three rituals of the Galician carnival Entroido, kicked off a long carnival season on Sunday in the town of Xinzo de Limia in Ourense, Spain.
Around 400 kilograms of flour was thrown over the course of the day and as an improvement of this year's event, no plastic bag was used in the fight against the excessive consumption of this environmentally harmful product.
Despite the apparent chaos, locals said that there are unwritten rules; do not throw flour into people's eyes, onto cars or at storefronts.
According to cultural councilor Carlos Campos, there were only 15 people who participated in this activity in 1980, but it has become a world-famous celebration over the years. He added that what's unique about the flour fight is that it requires people to participate rather than to just observe from the sidelines so that everyone enjoys the great festive atmosphere.
