What to do in Ibusuki- Visiting Flower Park Kagoshima, Ibusuki, Japan （フラワーパーク鹿児島 イルミネーション、指宿）
So this year, we visited Flower Park Kagoshima to see the wonderful illuminations and we were not disappointed!

Flower Park Kagoshima
Flower Park Kagoshima is in Ibusuki. A beautiful place to visit. You can go there by public bus, train or car. It is a 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from Kagoshima City. The entrance will cost 640 Yen for adults and you can buy annual pass spending 1080 Yen. You can hire mini taxi inside but you need to have Japanese driving license for that. Flowers community changes seasonally and also the park has different events, so it is better to plan your trip keeping an eye on their website: fp-k.org. You can take your food and have it inside the park. Beautiful place with scenic view of Mt. Kaimondake and Kagoshima Bay. It worth a visit. Have a nice time there

When you visit ibusuki City, I recommend you to come to see this beautiful scenery.

When you drive in Kagoshima, it is fun to make a brief stop at this place Ikedako Paradice.
You can see beautiful scenery and take good photographs of the lake and the mountain.
You can also buy souvenirs and have meals.

The place you SHOULD visit in Kagoshima
If you want to enjoy driving the south of Kagoshima, you cannot miss this wonderful place, lake Ikeda.
The lake is the biggest in Kyushu Island.
The beautiful contrast of flowers, Lake Ikeda and Mt. Kaimondake is just breath-taking!
In the half of the 20th century, some people have witnessed a monster Issie in the lake.

The montain Kaimon is very beautiful.
The volcano erupted in 8th century and has been dormant since then.
The mountain has the nick-name of Satsuma Fuji, which literally means Mt. Fuji in Kagoshima.
You can go up to the 2nd station of the mountain by the car.
There are free parking lots for climber.
You can climb up to the top for 2.5 hours.
You can walk down from the top to its foot in 1.5 hours.

You see many small yellow flowers in the movie.
Those flowers are called Nanohana
Those flowers are in full-broom from December to February
The flower is known as first flower which start blossom in the year.
There is a marathon held in Ibusuki City in January.
This marathon is called Nanohana marathon.
The marathon is the first marathon held in the year..

EARLY SPRING in KAGOSHIMA
It is winter in Japan now.
But you can enjoy early spring in Kagoshima, southern part of Kyushu Island, Japan.
Even in February, there are many beautiful and cute flowers sold at shops.
CLIMATE of KAGOSHIMA
Kagoshima Prefecture is very long from north to south.
You can enjoy wide variety of natural beauty in each region.
For exapmle, Isa City is located on the north of Kagoshima. The average temperature during winter season is as cold as that of Yamagata Prefecture.
On the contrary, you can see Nanohana flowers even in coldest January at Ibusuki City.
In addition, top of mountains at Yakushima (Yaku Island) belongs to cold temperature zone.
Kagoshima is the only prefecture which has 3 different temperature zone (tropical, sub-tropical and cold) in Japan.
This temperature difference produces attractive natural beauty of Kagoshima.

Banshobana Park - Most beautiful place in Japan - (19 April 2015)
This is the Banshobana Park in Kagoshima, Japan.
Many people enjoy fishing and swimming in tide pool at the park in summer.

During Edo period, Mr. Tadataka Ito praised this area as the most beautiful place in Japan. He is known as the first person who walked all parts of Japan and made the precise Japanese map. I had to memorize his name when I took Japanese history class in high school.

All Japanese children know the story of Mr. Taro Urashima.
In the story, He saved the turtle which was buried by local children at seashore. In return, the turtle takes Taro to the palace of dragon king.
The Banshobana Park is said to be the entrance to the palace of the dragon king under ocean.

There are lots of legend stories of Urashima Taro in Kagoshima.
For example, there is an oldest well in Ibusuki City.
It is said that the well was at the garden of the palace and princess was using the well everyday.

[TRIPofJHL] Trip to Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture
Ibusuki is locating south of Kagoshima City.
This little city is famous for a sand bath and some other attractions.
- Bus is the most useful transportation for travelers in Ibusuki.
- JR Nishioyama Station is the southmost train station in use. Many come to see even if it's a little train station with no office. It is said the view with mountain Kaimondake is nice during a good weather.
- Healthy Land Spa is probably the most popular place in Ibusuki. Lots of tourists visit for two main attractions, Tamatebako Onsen and Sand Bath Sayuri. Sand bath is available in several places of Ibusuki. But, Tamatebako gives the awesome hot spring experience surrounded by Mountain Dakeyama and the sea. A sand bath is a rare attraction sleeping covered by hot black sand and available in several places of Ibusuki.
- Ports of Ibusuki allow to travel places like Minamiosumi via ferries.
- Kaimondake is an amazing cone-shaped mountain which is one of the most frequently seen places while traveling. 3 hours up, 3 hours down. Kaimondake is fun to climb up. But, not that easy. In Ibusuki, there are many places to capture the beautiful scenery with Kaimondake. The view from the top can be hidden depending on the weather.
- There are great seafoods in Ibusuki just like many other Japanese cities.
- Chiringashima is a small island that is connected by a sea road during the low tide. Only several hours a day to access.
It is an amazing experience to visit the island by foot.
- Flower Park Kagoshima is a great flower garden in an extensive area.
- Ibusuki Tamatebako a.k.a. Ibutama is a very popular train with fancy decorations. People love to take photos from the beginning to the end.

일본 규슈(큐슈)지방 가고시마현 이부스키시(市) 여행.
이부스키는 가고시마의 남쪽에 위치한 도시이며, 모래찜질과 기타 즐길거리로 수많은 관광객을 끌어모은다.
- 이부스키를 방문하는 대부분의 관광객들은 버스로 이곳저곳을 여행한다.
- JR니시오야마역은 운행중인 최남단의 기차역으로, 많은 살마들이 역무원조차 없는 이 작은 기차역을 보러온다. 날씨가 좋을 때에는 뒤로 보이는 가이몬다케의 풍경이 멋지다고 한다.
- 헬씨랜드스파는 이부스키에서 가장 인기있는 장소일 듯 싶다. 많은 관광객들이 이곳을 방문하여 타마테바코 온천과 모래찜질을 즐긴다. 모래찜질을 할 수 있는 곳은 이부스키 내에 여러 곳 존재하지만, 타마테바코는 다케야마와 이부스키 앞바다가 펼쳐져 있는 개성있는 풍광을 자랑하는 곳이다.
- 이부스키항에서는 미나미오스미를 포함한 여러 지역으로 여행할 수 있는 페리를 운항한다.
- 가이몬다케는 여행 중에 빈번하게 목격할 수 있는 원뿔모양의 산이다. 올라가는데 3시간, 내려오는 데에 3시간 정도 걸리며 등반이 쉬운 편은 아니다. 이부스키 곳곳에는 가이몬다케와 주변 풍경을 담을 수 있는 명소가 여러 곳 존재한다. 정상에서의 경치는 날씨에 따라 시야가 확보되지 않을 수도 있다.
- 다른 수많은 일본의 도시들처럼 이부스키에서도 훌륭한 해산물 요리를 맛볼 수 있다.
- 지린가시마는 간조 때에 육로를 통해 접근할 수 있는 작은 섬이며 하루 중 단 몇시간만이 통행 가능하다. 바닷길이 열릴 때에는 걸어서 섬에 도달하는 흥미로운 경험을 할 수 있다.
- 플라워파크가고시마는 넓은 부지에 차려진 식물정원이다.
- 이부스키 타마테바코 또는 이부타마로 알려진 인기 관광열차를 탈 수도 있다. 내부는 아기자기하게 꾸며져 있어 열차 도착시부터 내릴 때까지 승객들은 쉴새없이 사진을 찍는다.

The park is located at the north of Kagoshima CIty. There are monuments to the arrival of St. Xavier in 1549 and the birth of famous Japanese song I am a Child of Sea. You can enjoy great view of Mt. Sakurajima from the park. It is convenient to come to the park by Kagoshima City View Bus.
