Indianapolis is in the Nine-County Region of Indiana, right at the center of the state. It is the state capital and largest city of Indiana, United States, and is in Marion County. The population within city limits is approximately 830,000 people, making it the 12th largest city in the US. The metropolitan area has about 2 million (23rd in the US). Indianapolis is also known as the Racing Capital of the World due to the proximity of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indy 500 and Allstate 400 at the Brickyard (formerly known as the Brickyard 400).
The name Indianapolis is simply Indiana joined with polis, the Greek word for city. The founders of Indianapolis expected it to be the Great Inland Port, but they neglected to consider the fact that the White River is impossible to navigate most of the year; other than during the spring, it is a melange of sandbars and temporary islands. However, this port-desire left the city with a beautiful, if useless, canal district.
The tallest building in Indianapolis is the Salesforce Tower, standing at 830 feet. The second is the One America Tower standings at 533 feet, and the third is the One Indiana Tower standing at a height of 504 feet. The fourth and fifth are the Market Tower (421 feet) and 300 North Meridian (408 feet). The sixth and seventh tallest are the M&I Plaza (401 feet), and the seventh tallest is the JW Marriott Indianapolis (376 feet): the JW Marriott Indianapolis is the tallest hotel in the state and the largest JW Marriott in the world.
Clean-cut Indy is the state capital and a perfectly pleasant place to ogle race cars and take a spin around the renowned speedway. The art museum and White River State Park have their merits, as do the Mass Ave and Broad Ripple hoods for eating and drinking. And fans of author Kurt Vonnegut are in for a treat. A swell walking and biking trail connects it all.
Indianapolis is called the Crossroads of America. The city is warm in the summer, with average highs in the mid-80s in June, July, and August. Indianapolis has a typical mid-western winter. January is the coldest month, with an average high of 34 degrees.

Top 5 Prettiest Towns in United States
Top 5 Prettiest Towns in United States
#5. Fort Benton, Montana
Fort Benton is a city in and the county seat of Chouteau County, Montana, United States. A portion of the city was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 1961. Established in 1846, a full generation before the U.S. Civil War, Fort Benton is one of the oldest settlements in the American West. Founded as a fur-trading post in 1847, the town flourished well into the 1860s, when the Gold Rush cash was flowing back eastward. The railroad would eventually put the brakes on the town’s growth, however, but not before Fort Benton earned a reputation as the sort of place where disagreements were regularly settled with sidearms.
#4. Breckenridge, Colorado
In a state known for its charming alpine ski towns, Breckenridge stands out both for its stunning vistas, charming streets, family-friendly vibe and – most importantly, for many visitors – unsurpassed proximity to a wide variety of world-class ski options. With giant peaks, more than 150 trails, North America’s highest chairlift, and a wide variety of options for everyone from the shakiest of beginners to the most jaded back-country daredevils, Breck really does have something for everyone.
#3. Gatlinburg, Tennessee
With its charming, quaint old buildings in the centre of town, its dramatic mountain backdrop and the only ski resort in Tennessee, Gatlinburg has become a popular tourist destination for regional fun-seekers. Located on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg benefits from its location as a tourist draw and reinforces it with attractions such as an aerial tramway, an aquarium, white-water rafting, hiking, and even a haunted house. But let’s not kid ourselves: as pretty and irresistible the town is, the real draw in this part of Tennessee is the nature.
#2. Camden, Maine
Camden is a famous summer colony in the Mid-Coast region of Maine. Similar to Bar Harbor, Nantucket and North Haven, Camden is well known for its summer community of wealthy Northeasterners, mostly from Boston, New York and Philadelphia. “It’s like a movie set. In fact, it has often been a movie set.” Camden retains a certain salty grit and allows more of its working-class roots to show — though, like many New England seaside villages, the residents are more likely to be affluent these days.
#1. Newport, Rhode Island
Known for being the city of some of the “Summer White Houses”. Like a town stuck in time but with the occasional hole in the space-time continuum to allow for modern touches, Newport, with its stunning harbor and bevy of old homes, is the quintessential New England town. Newport’s fame began as a 19th century summertime visitors’ magnet of a town, and it still reliably draws in clusters of visitors, both for the daytime shopping, eating, and sightseeing options.

5 Great Things At The SOMALI KARMEL MALL in Minneapolis, Minnesota!
Want to explore an authentic ethnic mall in Minneapolis? Then head on over to the Somali Karmel Mall in Pillsbury Avenue!
Introduction:
Hey everybody and welcome to another episode of Triple P with me and my amazing friend Hibaq who I got the chance to meet after 3 long years! In this episode we'll be showing you the 5 things not to miss at the ethnic Somali Karmel Mall in Minneapolis, Minnesota!
Number 1: Amazing Chai
Now one of the first things that Hibaq recommended for me to try was the official Somali chai. It was the best idea ever! Not only was the tea hot and milky, but also extremely flavourful. I was so impressed by it, that we asked the owner if we could see how it was made! He added in milk, water, cream, black tea and most importantly, cardamom, cinnamon and a mix of spices that made all the difference in the world!
Number 2: Beautiful Henna
This decorative designing on a persons body stems from Ancient India but has spread to many cultures around the world including Somalia. It is created from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant and is mainly put on women for occasions such as engagements, weddings, and cultural festivals.
Number 3: Delicious Foods and Snacks
If you are looking to try the authentic Somali cuisine, there is no better place to come than to the Karmel Mall. You get everything including sambusas, which are stuffed triangular fried pastry dishes, anjero - sourdough pancakes drizzled with butter and sugar, flavourful rice dishes with various meats, pickled mangos, sweet halwa, a glutinous sweet dish very similar to Turkish delight and many other varieties of snacks. It is your food paradise!
Number 4: Colourful Ethnic Clothing
Somali clothing is quite varied and you can find all types of styles including long flowing colourful dresses, to simple black robes, to also jazzed up attires for special occasions. Since majority of the Somali population is Muslim, the clothing tends to be modest and you’ll find many varieties of especially the jilbab. We also found a lot of jewellery stores with gold bangles and earrings, as it is common to wear these during ceremonies.
Number 5: Artistic Murals
When you walk out of the Mall and towards the car park, there is a huge wall covered with beautiful Somali art. It is particularly fitting as it depicts aspects of Somali culture, traditions and life back in the motherland.

Large Indiana Hunting and Tillable Farm For Sale | Parke County | 445 Acres
The northwest part of the county is known for its ability to produce giant whitetail deer and this tract has all the ingredients any serious hunter looking for the ideal property could want. The large unbroken sections of rolling hardwood timber create vast amounts of seclusion and sanctuary areas for bucks to reach those older age classes. The timber consists of a high percentages of large, mast bearing oaks and other ideal hardwood species, along with plenty of top-end specimens to provide some valuable timber for return-on-investment. There are even areas within the property that have been replanted to trees creating stands of younger age class timber and valuable transitional cover and edge. The winding, secluded agricultural fields are cash rented for additional income production and are in the traditional Midwest corn and soybean rotation, which also provides ideal evening feeding destinations for the plentiful resident whitetails. The fields are widely dispersed throughout the property making multiple evening tree stand locations and light hunting pressure a tremendous asset. A well-built and secure metal building centrally located along the county road makes a great camp location and hunt headquarters. It has plenty of room for storage of equipment, along with a restroom and room for dining and sleeping during extended stays. A maintained trail system will allow access from the camp building to the farthest reaches of the property, making reaching stand locations and doing maintenance work very practical. The property also boasts a tremendous turkey population making spring season a very enjoyable experience with the sheer number of gobblers available to hunt throughout the farm. Morel mushrooms are also plentiful during that same time-frame and add a bonus to the turkey hunting. Small game such as squirrel, rabbit and coyotes will extend the hunting season opportunities once those deer tags are filled. The timber features an unusually high population of Ginseng, offering a recreational fall pass time with financial rewards! A year-round flowing creek winds along much of the western edge of the property offering a great water source for the wildlife. One of Parke County’s world famous covered bridges is located crossing this creek right along the property’s southwestern corner. Lastly, the local area offers convenient dining and shopping for supplies in nearby Rockville. Nearby public access areas of Turkey Run State Park and Raccoon Lake State Recreational Area offer picturesque canoeing, hiking, fishing, swimming and pleasure boating opportunities.
