I-69 Section 5 won't be complete by goal date
Andy Dietrick of INDOT told us last week the hope was for the project to be complete by August 31st, but with all of the recent rainy weather, work can't be done, and that goal won't be met. And, despite that lack of work, lane restrictions remain.

Will Highways Become Tollways?
It's costing more to repair our roads, and there's less tax money to do it. So, President Obama is offering one solution: turning highways into tollways. CBS 2's Derrick Blakley has this Original Report.

University of Iowa Aerial Highlights September 2018
The University of Iowa created a new approval form and streamlined workflow for the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), or drones. Please see details here:
The university is remains generally a drone no-fly zone. Anyone seeking to fly drones on campus or use university-owned drones off campus must first submit a request for an exception to the no-fly zone and receive approval using the new form. The newly streamlined workflow has shortened the time necessary to process requests and give approval within 14 days.
The UI drone policy adheres to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and stipulates that anyone wishing to land, launch or fly a drone on or over UI property or for university purposes—including students, faculty, staff, visitors, contractors, videographers, and photographers—must submit a request to fly.
Flying drones on campus as a hobby or for recreation is not permitted, according to the policy. Approval for flying a drone will only be given after consideration of the request in accordance with the university’s mission and the intended operator’s compliance with FAA certifications, licenses, permits, and clearances, among other criteria.
The request form and additional information including the UI drone policy, frequently asked questions, related policies, and more are available at the Risk Management website ( ).
Driving from Kalamazoo, MI to Chicago, IL via I94 and I90
I went to bed early last night, and slept in this morning. I needed the extra rest. Feel better. Going to keep on tripping.
The first leg of today's jaunt takes us from Kalamazoo, Michigan to Chicago, Illinois, the windy city. I'm excited!
My Sony HXR-NX100 rode shotgun on a tripod shooting at 4 fps. The tripod was held in place using bungee cords giving it I nice smooth feel, even on bumpy roads. I also used this same camera to shoot various scenes around the country, and to interview folks.
Original music by Nim Portakey and/or created by Pinnacle Studio ScoreFitter.
Indiana University-Bloomington March 2012
Indiana University March 2012. The most beautiful campus we have toured. Countless trees. Limestone buildings...except for 2 red brick buildings.
Aerial Drone views of snowy Champaign, IL
I would have had a lot more footage if i didn't crash into a tree. It tumbled down the tree to the ground from about 30ft high. I wont be flying any more until i get insurance. Luckily it still works fine. Winds were also around 23 mph today which didn't help much.
