Live and Study in a Buddhist Temple! - Fo Guang Shan Mabuhay Temple, Philippines
HALA batch 8 ~ Humanistic Academy of Life and Arts
It has been 1 month since I started living the Monastic life in Mabuhay Temple, Manila. Everyday I eat silent meals, I do walking/sitting/cleaning meditation and the classes on my schedule are very diverse; Mandarin, Tai Chi, Buddhas Teachings, Chinese Medicine, Chinese singing, Tea ceremony and the list continues!
Here is a short video that gives you a small impression of my stay at a Buddhism Temple.

Musical gives overview of Buddha's teachings
Siddhartha: The Musical tells the story of Prince Siddhartha, who turns his back from the trappings of the world to seek enlightenment. He eventually becomes Buddha, the awakened one. His teachings are still kept alive today by millions of people all over the world.
The restaging is based on the book The Biography of Sakyamuni Buddha by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order. Most of the songs used in the musical are also based on the writings of the Venerable Master.
All proceeds of the musical will benefit Guang Ming College based in Manila for the training of scholars from financially-challenged families all over the country in the fields of Performing Arts and Buddhist Studies.
Siddhartha: The Musical is on July 17, 2015 at 2 pm and 8 pm. For ticket inquiries, please call Fo Guang Shan Mabuhay Temple at 559-9540.
