COCORAVELO | An All The Places Original
Who grows your coffee?
All The Places is a travel film series exploring our relationship with food, culture, sport and the environment. Each bikepacking trip maps out a new travel route through a region of global significance – whether it produces coffee, whiskey, music, tea, apparel, world class athletes, palm oil, or centenarians.
Colombia is world class in two things, coffee and cycling. In episode one, CocoraVelo, we look at these two important and very well-acquainted industries and as they converge in a symbiosis unlike anywhere else in the world.
This is the Napa Valley of coffee.

Medellín Colombia Plaza Botero Cerro Nutibara Pueblito Paisa
In the middle of the Pink City as Medellin is known, in Colombia, you can find gigantic sculptures that welcome you and invite you to contemplate them from an innovative and ingenious art.
This is what Plaza Botero is known for: an open-air museum, which shows its perfection in 23 bronze sculptures, surrounded by palm trees that make perfect match with the blue of the sky and the multicolored clothes of tourists from all over the world. They visit this place to find something new between both the building and the traffic of the city.

The author is Fernando Botero, Colombian artist, painter and sculptor, recognized for using a lot of voluptuousness in his artistic works that awaken curiosity and attention, which leads you to admire a monumental beauty. The 23 sculptures in the square were donated by the artist Botero and each of them represents specific themes. They appear then: Maternity, Woman with fruit, Woman with mirror, Walking man, Woman sitting, Reclining woman, Man on horseback, Roman soldier, Dressed man, Hand, Head, Thought, Adam, Eve, Horse, Dog, Cat, Sphinx, Rape of Europe, horse with bridles, woman dressed among others. The tradition is that you take a picture with each one of the sculptures. Personally, I have 23 in my photo album.
This square, easily becomes a park that invites you to enjoy art in all its manifestations, since in front is the Museum of Antioquia, the most important of the city, where other works of the author are appreciated.
To take one and many pictures with these giant sculptures, it is necessary to get to Medellin on Calle 52. Once installed in this beautiful city, you can take the Turibus, which for a good price takes you to tour many emblematic places and interesting of Medellin. You will delight yourself with gastronomy, parties, dances, art and you will enjoy a good company, because there will always be a Colombian person willing to help you in everything. Live the experience, live it from Latin America!

Cloud forest in Colombia Part 1 - Páramo - English CC - TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel
Twitter @juangangel
A cloud forest, also called a fog forest, is a generally tropical or subtropical, evergreen, montane, moist forest characterized by a persistent, frequent or seasonal low-level cloud cover, usually at the canopy level. Cloud forests often exhibit an abundance of mosses covering the ground and vegetation, in which case they are also referred to as mossy forests. Mossy forests usually develop on the saddles of mountains, where moisture introduced by settling clouds is more effectively retained
Dependent on local climate, which is affected by the distance to the sea, the exposition and the latitude (from 23°N to 25°S), the altitude varies from 500 m to 4000 m above sea level. Typically, there is a relatively small band of altitude in which the atmospheric environment is suitable for cloud forest development. This is characterized by persistent fog at the vegetation level, resulting in the reduction of direct sunlight and thus of evapotranspiration. Within cloud forests, much of the moisture available to plants arrives in the form of fog drip, where fog condenses on tree leaves and then drips onto the ground below.
Annual rainfall can range from 500 to 10,000 mm/year and mean temperature between 8 to 20 °C.
While cloud forest today is the most widely used term, in some regions, these ecosystems or special types of cloud forests are called mossy forest, elfin forest, montane thicket, and dwarf cloud forest.
The definition of cloud forest can be ambiguous, with many countries not using the term (preferring such terms as Afromontane forest and upper montane rain forest, montane laurel forest, or more localised terms such as the Bolivian yungas, and the laurisilva of the Atlantic Islands), and occasionally subtropical and even temperate forests in which similar meteorological conditions occur are considered to be cloud forests.
Only 1% of the global woodland consists of cloud forests.[7]
Important areas of cloud forest are in Central and South America, East and Central Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Papua-New Guinea, and in the Caribbean
