Patna Museum is the state museum of the Indian state of Bihar. Started on 3 April 1917 during the British Raj to house the historical artefacts found in the vicinity of Patna, it is in the style of Mughal and Rajput architecture and is known locally as the Jadu Ghar.

Bihar Museum (Hindi: बिहार संग्रहालय) is a museum located in Patna.[3] It was partially opened in August, 2015.[4] 'The children's museum', the main entrance area, and an orientation theatre were the only parts opened to the public in August 2015.[5][6] Later, in October 2017 remaining galleries were also opened. More than 100 artefacts were transferred here from Patna Museum.[7]
It was planned as a history museum for the state of Bihar,[8] and began construction in Bailey Road, Patna in October 2013 with an estimated budget of ₹498 crore (US$72 million).[9]

Mr. Tokio Hasegawa, founder and director of Mithila Museum and Chairman of NPO society to promote India-Japan Cultural Relations founded the Mithila Museum in 1982. He has also been involved in organizing the Namaste India which showcases Indian dance, music, food, tourism, handicrafts every year in Tokyo for the past 25 years. Between 1993 and 2004, the event was jointly organised by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Japan-India Business Co-operation Committee with support from Mr Hasegawa. From 2005 onwards, Mr Hasegawa has acted as the head organiser of the event. The festival is said to be the largest of its kind outside of India, attracting upwards of 200,000 people annually. has also organised local tours for incoming ICCR cultural troupes in various locations throughout Japan. Mr Hasegawa also helped the Embassy in organizing the Artist in Residence programme along with Telangana Art Trust in August 2015 and the Exhibition of Buddhist sculptures from Kolkata National Museum at the Tokyo National Museum in March-May 2015. He organised the participation of 33 cultural people –performers and artisans from Japan in the Surajkund Mela in 2016. (Text Courtesy:

The fair and every festival in Patna are celebrated with great pomp and show. Sonepur fair has become a part of life here. Its height is about 96 feet and this building is famous for its special shape.
Patna has hot summers and winters and the best time to visit here is between October to March. The city is famous for its Mithila painting, which is basically a folk art created by women using charcoal, spices and many vegetables as a colour.Patna Museum is located on the Buddha Marg of Patna, which some people also call the magic house. Let us know that this museum is a very popular museum of Patna, which has more than 50,000 rare art objects.
You will be surprised to know that Patna has far fewer or almost no fetus deaths than many modern areas of the country. This is a very good thing about Patna.

Tourists visit Janapada Loka, a folk museum in Bangalore
Janapada Loka is a folk museum that has an exclusive display of the village folk arts of Karnataka. It is under the aegis of the Karnataka Janapada Parishat. Loka Mahal, a wing in the museum has a display of 5,000 folk artifacts. It is situated in Ramanagara district in the Indian state of Karnataka, on the Bangalore-Mysore highway, 53 kilometres (33 mi) to the south of Bangalore.
H. L. Nage Gowda, an Indian civil servant and folklorist thought of creating a museum to exhibit the varied folk art and culture of Karnataka. Accordingly Karnataka Janapada Parishat (Janapada Academy) was first established on 21 March 1979. Gowda and his friends continued collecting antiques for this institution for the next three decades. The current museum land in Bangalore-Mysore highway was bought on 12 March 1994.
Janapada Loka is divided into separate wings — Folk arts museum, Loka Mahal, Chitra Kuteera, Doddamane, Shilamala, Arghyamala etc. The museum has a collection of 5,000 folk artefacts.

This is a video of shop of sword ( तलवार ) where you can buy indian traditional weapons .the man is selling swords , knives, khanda, khalsa kirpans with mayan ( sheath ) and telling the prices of swords and other arms & armour. nihang sword, khanda, Scabbard, dagger, lathi, folding gupti, katar, axe, shield, finger punch,Punjabi sword ( desi talwar) & Damascus steel Knives . The weapons manufacturers factory are in Punjab, ( Sirohi) rajasthan . They bring the weapons from these factories.
These ancient weapons shows Punjabi art and craft . You do not need license for these weapons as they are not sharp. It is legal to keep blunt weapons in india. keeping sharp swords is illegal.
The swords were famously used in wars by Mughal , Maratha , Sikh & Rajput Kings of india. like Maharana Pratap, Amar Singh Rathore, Rana Sanga, Shivaji Maharaj , maharana Ranjeet Singh . Now these jewelled weapons with decorations are on sale for wall hanging. These swords have grand cover with Gems and stone embedded on them and having silver painting on swords.
