Luoyang is a magical fertile land that has gone through the washing of time with a long history, magnificent mountains and rivers, and a splendid civilization both in ancient and modern days.

Luoyang, Jerusalem, Mecca and Athens are named the Four Holy Cities of the world. The mountains and rivers in Heluo region bred the earliest eastern civilization. Throughout the 5,000 years, 13 Dynasties including Xia, Shang, Zhou, Eastern Han and other dynasties had founded their capitals in Luoyang. The 105 emperrors have made their own strategies here to govern the country. One-third of the five thousand years of civilization in China is centered in Luoyang.
The city has witnessed the flourishing of Confucianism, the prosperity of Buddhism, the accomplishment of metaphysics and the begining of Neo-Confucianism.
It fully deserves the title of the source of the Chinese civilization. Time has made the city of Luoyang a Living museum with the glory of the Chinese civilization shining through the history.

Xi'an Painting Workshop - Trip to China part 23 - Travel video HD
One fantastic and very special type of souvenir from Xi'an is a local folk painting. The local folk painters have borrowed the line drawing techniques of traditional Chinese brush painting and drawn inspiration from cultural and historical figures, animals, flowers and birds. Many of the paintings come from Huxian County (20 kilometers from Xi'an) where farmers have made a career of producing them.

Enjoy a full day excursion the Great Wall at Jinshanling Section (145km northeast to Beijing city center)-the least touristed section with the best view along the whole Wall with lunch included at a local

Day 3 Beijing/Xian
In the morning, visit Temple of Heaven, Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City and Summer Palace with lunch included at a local restaurant. In the evening, transfer to the train station for an overnight train
in soft sleeper to Xi'an. Stay overnight on the train. (B,L)
Day 4 Xi'an
Arrive in Xi'an early in the morning. Transfer to Quest Xi'an hotel or similar for breakfast. Afterwards, leave for a city tour in Xi'an including visits to Bell tower (o Drum Tower), ancient city wall, Grand

Day 5 Xi'an
Enjoy a full day excursion to Terra Cotta Warriors Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda with lunch included. Evening is free at leisure. (B,L)
Day 6 Xi'an/Luoyang
Leave the hotel for the transfer to the train station for an express train (about 1hour and half) to Luoyang. Arrive in Luoyang. In the afternoon, visit Longmen Grottoes. Stay overnight at Luoyang Grand Hotel

Day 7 Luoyang
Visit Shaolin Temple with lunch included. (B,L)
Day 8 Luoyang/Shanghai
Take a morning flight to Shanghai. Arrive in Shanghai. Transfer to the hotel for an afternoon tour to Yu Garden, the Bund and Shanghai Museum. Stay overnight at Longmen Hotel or similar.(B,L)
Day 9 Suzhou
Enjoy a full day excursion to Suzhou including visits to Lingering Garden, Ancient Panmen Gate and Silk factory. Return to Shanghai in the evening for leisure. (B,L)
Day 10 Departure

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China in part to protect the Chinese Empire or its prototypical states against intrusions by various nomadic groups or military incursions by various warlike peoples or forces. Several walls were being built as early as the 7th century BC; later joined together and made bigger, stronger, and unified are now collectively referred to as the Great Wall. Especially famous is the wall built between 220--206 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Little of that wall remains. Since then, the Great Wall has on and off been rebuilt, maintained, and enhanced; the majority of the existing wall was reconstructed during the Ming Dynasty.

Longmen Grottoes Luoyang China - Fengxian cave temple - Grutas de Longmen. (Fengxiansi Cave )
Situado en la planta al sur de West Hill de Longmen, Fengxiansi Cave, o llamado Templo Fengxian, fue originalmente llamado Nicho Gran Losana Buda. Su gran escala, el vigor espectacular, sus estatuas delicadas y mano de obra altamente cualificada hacen que sea el mayor nicho en el acantilado de las grutas de Longmen . También es la obra más representativa de las tallas de Longmen en la dinastía Tang .
Losana, el Buda venerado por los creyentes de la Escuela Huayan del budismo, también se nombra Vairocana, lo que significa que la luz brillante. El diseño general del nicho incluye 9 estatuas: un Buda, dos discípulos, dos bodhisattvas, dos reyes y dos guerreros celestiales. The ancient city of Luoyang was the capital of thirteen dynasties, starting from the Xia dynasty all the way to the Northern Song dynasty in the 10th century. It was once the centre of the Chinese universe and home to over 1,300 Buddhist temples. The city has a rich history with cultural relics throughout the area and nearly 400,000 artefacts kept in museums.
5,000 cultural relics unearthed in ancient Chinese city
About 5,000 historical items were found last year in the city of Luoyang in central China's Henan province. Most of the items were found in about 1,000 ancient tombs there. About 500 of the items have been promptly repaired and restored.
