2:12 Villa Rundle Garden Triq Ninu Cremona, Victoria, Island of Gozo, Malta
Right next to the Duke Shopping Centre these delightful gardens are beautifully maintained and a lovely way to while away an hour or so. Some lovely statues and some impressive plants and trees, some of which, were planted over 100 years ago. A lot of thought has gone into the use of space and colour in this garden and the centrepiece bridge is lovely.
6:08 The Citadel Victoria, Island of Gozo, Malta
Once in Gozo, one should surely go to the Citadel. With only a few families living within the Citadel walls, and the magnificent baroque Cathedral of Gozo, the Gozitan Law Courts and the Bishop's Palace at the piazza, this place will take you back in time and helps you imagine of how live was back in the days.
There's a visitors' Centre, the Cathedral Museum, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, the Gozo Nature Museum, the Old Prison, the Old Gunpowder Magazine, the Grain Silos, the Battery and the World War II Shelter. So if you're into history, there's a lot to see.
Just walk in the Citadel's narrow streets, and appreciate the calmness it is surrounded by.
9:20 Ta' Pinu National Shrine
40 George Borg Olivier St, Gharb, Island of Gozo, Malta

Għallis Tower
How to get there:
Nearest attraction:
Placeholder
Brief History:
This Tower is one of thirteen watch towers built by Grand Master de Redin between 1658 and 1659.
Not built to resist attack but to provide early warning of attack. This replaced the tradition of farmers manning 60 lookout posts
Ghallis Tower is about 12m high and has a 9m square base. The walls consist of an inner and outer skin of masonry with a solid gravel infill.
These watchtowers were manned by the Dejma, a local military corps, with four men in each tower. On sighting the enemy they waved a red flag by day or lit a bonfire by night to communicate a warning signal from one watch tower to the next and on to Valletta.
The tower was restored in 1996 and is open to visitors by appointment from their caretakers Din l-Art Ħelwa.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, VALLETTA, MALTA
The National Museum of Fine Arts is located at the lower end of South street (Valletta) within an area including other fine historical palaces dating from the times of the Order of St John of Jerusalem.
Set in a complimenting historic building, the museum presents a multifaceted overview of art and artistic expression in Malta from the late medieval period to the contemporary. Highlights from the collection on display include paintings by leading local and internationally acclaimed artists, precious Maltese silverware, statuary in marble bronze and wood, fine furniture items and splendid maiolica pieces.
The building was originally one of the earliest to be built in Valletta and served as residence to successive knights of the Order of St John. It was later largely rebuilt during the 1760s by Fra Ramon de Sousa y Silva, a wealthy Portuguese knight of the Order of St John.
During the early nineteenth century the palace was home to Louis-Charles of Orleans, Comte de Beaujolais during his brief stay on the island followed shortly by his demise. By the 1820's the palace became known as Admiralty House and seat of the Commander-in Chief of the British Mediterranean Fleet. It also hosted high-ranking personalities both as residents and guests including Queen Elizabeth, Winston Churchill, and others.
The palace was officially inaugurated as the National Museum of Fine Arts in 1974 and has since then been Malta's most important museum for the arts.
A conspicuous number of works origionally belonged to the Order of the Knights of St John and come from the Magistral Palace, and various auberges in which the knights took up residence.

Ħaġar Qim | The Mystery of Malta's Origins & Its Hidden Geometry & Astronomy | Megalithomania
Explore ancient Malta and Gozo in March 2020 with Megalithomania. Register here: An exploration of one of Malta's most important megalithic temples. Ħaġar Qim was built in the Ġgantija phase (3600-3200 BC) but new research could push the dates back much further. V. Gordon Childe, Professor of Prehistoric European Archeology and director of the Institute of Archaeology in the University of London from 1946-1957 visited Ħaġar Qim. He wrote, I have been visiting the prehistoric ruins all round the Mediterranean, from Mesopotamia to Egypt, Greece and Switzerland, but I have nowhere seen a place as old as this one. It has a summer solstice alignment, was a goddess worshipping site and is the sister site to Mnajdra, that is aligned to the Equinox.
