GIANT TUNA TAIL & Filipino Food Tour in Davao Philippines, DURIAN CAPITAL
For my last day in the Philippines, I went on a Filipino food tour to explore some of the best restaurants they have in Davao city. And I'm not a huge fan of durian, the king of all fruits, but because Davao is the durian capital I had to try some.

DUTERTE CITY: A DAVAO CITY FOODTRIP
Davao City is one of the gems of Mindanao where plenty of unexplored adventures and places to visit awaits. Known as the Duterte city, it’s been dubbed as the safest city in the Philippines because of President Rodrigo Duterte’s tight management of the place when he was still a mayor of Davao. To this day, Davao has been known to have the most disciplined people with warm smiles, accommodating and hospital culture that also adds up to its rustic and laid back culture.
We spent a few days in Davao exploring the local food scene and immersed ourselves in the local lifestyle. Our trip takes us to the downtown area of Davao where we walked around and tried some local streetfoods. We visited Dencia’s, a known local restaurant that serves the best Goto/Lugaw in town, we also looked at how the Davao food scene is like, and enjoyed Durian as our dessert.
(Some pricing I mentioned on our meals are wrongly converted to US dollars, my apologies for the wrong math. My brain isn't working! :D )

FILIPINO SEAFOOD: We Love The Philippines!! PALAWAN FISH + DAVAO DURIAN in Manila! PINOY STREET FOOD
Dampa Seaside in Pasay, Manila!! SEAFOOD in The Philippines 2019!!
Welcome back to Manila! We are teaming up with FoodieMommaPH (her channel: to bring you an entire street food series in Manila, Philippines! We couldn’t resist a SEAFOOD feast, a specialty of the Philippines, so we will be showing where you can get some of the FRESHEST and most DELICIOUS seafood in Metro Manila!
We head to Dampa Seaside (fish market), which sits right along Manila bay, to check out the fresh catches of the day. The market has everything from squids, to crabs, to exotic fish that had been caught from all around the country, like Palawan! Khee recommended certain types of fish and shellfish for the perfect Filipino seafood meal. We picked up crab (500 PHP / $9.69 USD for medium size), a beautiful red lapu lapu (type of Grouper fish) from Palawan (800 PHP / 15.50 USD), spires (molluscs) (45 PHP / 0.87 USD for a small plate), and squid (80 PHP / 1.55 USD for small plate). Overall, the market was small and quite clean. There weren’t many flies or bad smells like you can usually expect at these fish markets. A huge PLUS!
Surrounding the wholesale area are restaurants who take your fresh seafood and cook it for you, either Filipino style or sometimes Chinese/Cantonese style. We chose to visit Papa Dann’s Grill Seafood restaurant because they allowed us to watch the cooking process. However, several locals had recommended to us to visit Aling Tonya’s Seafood Palutuan for better local flavours or Royal Kitchen for excellent Hong Kong style seafood. Information for all restaurants will be below.
Papa Dann’s restaurant has all dishes on their menu with pictures to make ordering easy. They charged 1170 PHP ($22.68 USD) for the cooking fee and several bottles of water.
The Filipino seafood dishes we ordered were:
Chili garlic crab
Sweet & sour lapu lapu with vegetables
Squid adobo
Spires in coconut cream
Lapu lapu sinigang
Next up, we head toward the entrance of the seafood market to find an exotic fruits stall. Khee had told us that she had NEVER tried durian before, and that she was saving it for when she could try Davao Durian. This stall had it so it was MANDATORY that we try it all together. FoodieMommaPH is officially a durian lover! We also tried an array of exotic fruits from all around the Philippines, such as sweet mangosteens, star apples, Java plums and even the bizarre cotton fruit (santol). There is no better way to end an incredible seafood meal than with exciting fruits with different flavours and textures.
Want to visit too? Check out the info below!

What's new Davao City | Tipid Biyahe
Today we will go to
the 1st class highly urbanized City
in the island of Mindanao - Davao City
So kun na intriga ka kun unsa ka asenso ang Davao
then uban namo diri sa Tipid Biyahe oh yeah
The city of Davao is geo graphically located in
the province of Davao del Sur, the city serves
as the main busines hub of Mindanao.
Going to davao is not difficult because from luzon,
visayaz and mindanao naay airplane nga always available.
For first timers I suggest you walk and enjoy the city
naa silay mga park nga lami e tambay, nindot nga cathedral,
nindot kaau nga mga government buildings, the best.
pero kun kapoyon naka then cge pag sakay nalang
ug Jeep or Taxi.
The City has so many shopping centers and commercial areas
so shopping is not a problem, you have SM, Gaisano, and even Ayala.
And talking about food I want to try their local restaurants,
Oh yeah!!
One thing that I like in the city kay ang ilang mga balaod, dili ka dapat
pataka ug labang, kun may sakyanan ka dili ka dapat pakusog ,no smokin ug
bawal ang fire crackers. -- kun gahi ka ug ulo dali raka kit-an kay
kina daghanan camera sa ilang mga dalan.
It is the most child friendly City in the Philippines and
with their 911 and different government programs
The City was awarded with the Best Disaster Risk Reduction and Managment
in 2017.
That is why bisita jud sa balay ni Duterte oh yeah!
Kun nahuman naka ug laag palit daun ug pasalubong so barato ra ang
durian candies ug anga ilang mga baligya.
There you have it this is Jkizmo and this is Tipid biyahe!

CHEAPEST FILIPINO STREET FOOD! Eating at ROXAS NIGHT MARKET in Davao Philippines
I arrived in Davao, and the first place I had to go check out was the Roxas night market for some night time eats! The Roxas night market has a lot of repetitive foods at many of the tents, but the food was great and super cheap. The people there are so friendly and awesome too!
