For this Tel Aviv, Israel, food tour, we hooked up with my friend David ( to eat some of the best food in Tel Aviv, including a few true gems of Israeli and Middle Eastern food.
Our first stop was in Jaffa, the old area of Tel Aviv, just south of the main city. It’s an ancient Biblical city, and I was excited to visit. Located in Jaffa is Abu Hassan, one of the most legendary and standards of hummus in Tel Aviv.
Abu Hassan - Located in a peaceful area of Jaffa, this restaurant is always packed and busy full of people hungry for hummus, ful, and musabaha. it’s truly a legendary place and the hummus was of the sticky and smooth variety. I think my favorite thing was the musabaha, like hummus, but with whole chickpeas. They also offer a mix of hummus, ful, and musabaha all in a single bowl which is excellent.
Total price - 72 ILS ($20.95)
Sabich Tchernichovsky - An Iraqi Jewish food in Israel, sabich is a pita filled with eggplant and hard boiled eggs, and a selection of salad and condiments. David says that there’s no doubt Sabich Tchernichovsky makes the best sabich in Israel, and I was very impressed. He assembled the pita so slowly and perfectly, adding layer upon layer of eggplant, egg, and salad. It was truly one of the best vegetarian (but with egg) sandwiches I’ve ever had.
Price - 21 ILS ($5.87)
Falafel Johnny Benin - Next to Sabich Tchernichovsky, is Falafel Johnny Benin, a legendary Tel Aviv falafel hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered a half of a falafel sandwich, with salad and tahini. It was delicious, and freshly cooked.
Half falafel pita - 9 ILS ($2.51)
Carmel Market - Carmel Market is one of the most well known of all open air flea markets in Tel Aviv. You’ll find everything there, including a nice food section.
HaBasta Restaurant - Located on a side street of Carmel Market, is HaBasta, a gourmet market fresh restaurant. They served us some very fresh and interesting dishes. The crab was delicious, and the fried veal brain was amazing, but I especially loved the cherry salad.
Total price - 400 ILS ($111.72)
Pronto Restaurant - Owned by the renowned Chef David Frankel, Pronto is a refined Israeli Italian and Mediterranean restaurant. The food was extremely high quality, and the flavors were very subtle and delicious. We were planning to pay for our meal, but David knows the chef very well, and Chef David wouldn’t allow us to pay. Delicious high end gourmet food.
Jasmino - This was probably my favorite food on this entire Israeli food tour of Tel Aviv, Jasmino, specializing in grilled meat pita. The owner, another extremely kind man, ordered me the sweetbreads pita, grilled thymus and bottom part of lamb throat glands, with salad and tahini. It was extraordinary. My kind of a place.
Price - 28 ILS ($7.82)
And that completed our Tel Aviv food tour!

Tel Aviv is a bustling, young city with a food scene heavily influenced by the countries that surround it, as well as a focus of vegetarian/vegan food. In this episode, we partnered with Delicious Israel to learn about the origin of the food, the fresh ingredients used and the best places to find them. Inbal, the founder of Delicious Israel, showed us all around the Carmel Market, and located some AWESOME street food & hidden gems inside. Thank you Inbal and Delicious Israel! We started our day with Sabich for breakfast, a very popular street food you can eat almost any time of the day (so healthy!), and then a Turkish dessert, Malebi with Arabic coffee. Then, we enter the Carmel Market to sample some local spices and enjoy two types of hummus. Next, Inbal takes us to a local kitchen to eat Yemini food, a bread that is fried with egg and with hummus and zhug (SPICY!). We then try Syrian cookies, and stopped by a stall making fresh pitas. We end the day with a fresh, street-side falafel. All food featured in this video was paid for in full by us.

Israel is a middle eastern country on the Mediterranean Sea, it is regarded by Jews, Christians and Muslims as the biblical Holy Land, it has gorgeous beaches, and it is an intense party country.
I am starting my tour in the city of Jaffa, which is the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv, for some mouth watering dessert.
Then I travel to Givatayim for a Jewish- Iraqi and Israeli treat.
Then I head to Ramat-Gan for some delicious meat.
Followed by a trip to Tel-Aviv for one of Israel's most iconic street foods.
Then a drive to Ramla for a delightful Levantine and Egyptian food.
Next a trip to HaSira Interchange in Herzliya for a sweet treat which is just out of this world.
After checking out this amazing delicacy I will take a short walk to the Glilot junction where I will eat an outstanding filling pastry.
I will then hop over to the city of Or Yehuda for a fresh dish that contains a very rich tomato source.
From there to the city of Petach-Tikva where I will eat a very enjoyable dish that is pounded and fried
And lastly I will end my tour in Israel's capital Jerusalem where I will try out some rather unusual ice cream.
If you love to eat delicious meals in beautiful cities which are very close to each other, then you should add Israel to the list of countries that you are definitely going to visit.
Whether inside a bubbling city or in quiet remote gas station which is far from all the noise you will be sure to find some pretty amazing dishes, and some pretty amazing people.

So today is our first morning in Israel. It is our first time in the Middle East and we're super excited. And to start things off we're going to be doing a food tour around Jaffa. Where we're just going to try lots of traditional Israeli dishes. Now Sam and I aren't very familiar with Israeli food. Like we know Hummus and Shakshouka. And baklava. So we're excited to try some new dishes and see what we like and see what we don't like. So enjoy!
Jews and Muslims argue over the best hummus. He's Muslim. I think he's making a great hummus. But don't quote me. Don't quote me. How to buy hummus. So I'm going to do. I'm going to be lucky. I'm going to do the first one. Okay. So there is a few methods. We can argue on that. But basically that's what I do. Don't kill me in here. I do this. You basically do this. You just. Sorry, I'm not going to be very methodical. Mmmmm, that's good. That's how I eat it as well. It's so tasty. Happy dance at the end.
So hummus taste test. I love hummus. I'm know I'm going to like this. Do you like spicy food?
Big massive amounts of it.
How is that? Hummus in Israel?
We believe in double dipping in Israel, okay?
So much flavor. Wow! Wonderful :)
And you're allowed to double dip I just heard. Even better!
I'm going to grab a big chunk. Some chickpeas in there. No holding back.
MMMM, yeah. Isn't that good? Isn't that amazing?
It's really creamy and smooth. I'm going to double dip.
Breaking bread. So what are you going to be trying? We're trying Shakshouka next. It's a mixture of tomatoes, peppers and some egg. So let's have a taste. I'm not entirely sure how to do this.
Just dip it! Grab some. There you go. This is hot.
I'm going to burn myself.
Mmmmm, how is it? That's some tomatoe-ey goodness! That's really nice.
Okay, say couscous taste test. Lots of vegetables. It's really good and light. Also very flavorful as well.

Looks like a pastry stuffed with cheese and some sesame seeds on top. It's super hot. Owe! You can kind of see the cheese there. Mmmmm. Oh yeah, you can.
I really like the cheese. Is it salty? It is salty. I don't know if it is feta or what. Cottage cheese? Either way it's really good.
Alright, so I am trying something called malabi. It's a dessert.
It's sweet like a pudding but it's consistency is a bit like jello. really delicious. Really really sweet. It has a syrup and sugar on top. Yeah, it's really really sweet.
With shredded coconut.
Really? More dessert? This is so good. So you are having? kanafeh. It's warm. like a pudding. With sugary hairs on the outside. I don't even know how to describe it. It's just really nice.
So the food tour was amazing. We got to try so many different kinds of foods. We were actually full early on but the food was just so good that we kept eating, eating and eating. And I got introduced to some new kinds of desserts that I had never tried before they were really sweet and really delicious.
This is part of our Travel in Israel series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Israeli culture, Israeli arts, Israeli foods, Israeli cuisine, Jewish religion and Israeli people.

TEL AVIV FOOD | BEST SHAWARMA in TEL AVIV | Tel Aviv FOOD TOUR
TEL AVIV FOOD | BEST SHAWARMA in TEL AVIV | Tel Aviv MUKBANG
This was my review of King George - a 20 year old shawarma place in Tel Aviv that has some of the best (if not the best) shawarma in Tel Aviv.
I used to come here back in the day when I lived in Tel Aviv because it was so cheap. Overall it's about 30% less than other shawarma places and just as good if not better. The owners are super nice and the food is great.
If you're looking for some good food in Tel Aviv, come to the corner of King George st and Ben Tzion in Tel Aviv. Tell them I sent you and they'll be extra nice to you.

There are few cities in the world that can compare to Jerusalem in terms of ancient history and religious significance. It’s one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and it’s a city that I’ve wanted to visit my entire life. Finally, along with my friend David ( and Rafram, we explored Jerusalem to discover the food treasures the city has to offer - and let me tell you, you’ll find some incredibly delicious food in Jerusalem!
We started off the Jerusalem food tour by first walking around East Jerusalem and starting with the best plate of hummus I’ve ever had. We then toured around Old Jerusalem, and enjoyed some incredible Palestinian food kebabs cooked by an incredible man who cooked with serious love and passion. Another highlight in Jerusalem was the mutabak, a thin pastry stuffed with cheese and baked.
After eating our way through Old Jerusalem, we then headed into West Jerusalem and went to lunch at an Israeli Jewish restaurant serving a mix of amazing dishes. The food was home-cooked in style, and absolutely sensation. A few more snacks and sightseeing throughout the afternoon, and that brought us all the way to dinner where David had made reservations to eat at one of the hottest restaurants in Jerusalem, Machneyuda Restaurant. It was quite an experience, and an amazing meal and lively atmosphere to wrap up this ultimate Jerusalem food tour.
Here’s all the food and places included in this Palestinian food and Israeli food tour of Jerusalem:

Israeli Food Is The Best
The food in Israel is reason enough to visit the country. I’ve gained at least 3kg during my week sampling the best of what the country has to offer my tastebuds. This is actually not the easiest thing to do as the food in Israel is so healthy - What do you think about Israeli food?
