Welcome to the Wildly Beautiful Sunshine Coast
Footprint Kayak & Hike Explorations’ owners and operators John Hermsen and Christy Krebber love to share their passion for the Sunshine Coast and its nearly endless outdoor activities. We are specialized in guided day and multi-day Sea Kayak and Hike Tours and also offer a variety of engaging Travel Deals.
We are located in Wildwood, Powell River on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, a beautiful rural region that offers outdoor pursuits of every type. Whether on land, sea or lake, we can arrange a stay you won’t soon forget. Do you have a request you didn’t see on our website? Don’t hesitate to drop us a line.
We take great care in preparing for all of our tours. We only use high end equipment and as residents and outdoor enthusiasts we know the parks where we execute our tours through and through. Prior to a tour we discuss topics such as dietary preferences and previous experiences. We also provide a Suggested Gear List. This will leave you a clear image of what you may expect from us, but also what we expect from you.

Time lapse, Mahoods Beach on the Sunshine Coast (Powell River)
I was at Mahood beach on Sunday and set up my camera for a time lapse video of all the fun stuff going on, on the beach. It was quite busy, but I guess I should have expected that. It was the first perfect beach weather this year. If you look in the background, on the water you can see a bunch of canoes... Those are some of the First Nation communities on the, Pulling Together Canoe Journey 2012. I was lucky to capture this, as I didn't even know they were out on the ocean... When they passed us on the beach they turned into Palm Beach, where I think they spent the night. Good luck to all the paddlers!
