'Tågsläpp' (Train Release... ?) by FSVJ in Oxelösund April 26th 2015

On April 26th the Veteran Railway society in Oxelösund, Sörmland, in Sweden (FSVJ = Föreningen Sörmlands Veteran Järnväg) had an open house at their engine shed.
It was a great event; Cab ride in an old class Hg2 electric loco and display of FSVJ's steam locomotive E 901 among other things.
The E 901 was built in 1907 and is in running condition. It's used a couple of times a year at different events. The E class was the most common steam locomotive in Sweden.
I had a great time at the event and in another video I show my cab ride in the old charming Hg2 locomotive.

Train ride with the Swedish class E locomotive no 901

My first ride with a Swedish steam train.
On June 28th 2015 the railway society FSVJ (Föreningen Sörmlands Veteran Järnväg) in Oxelösund, Sweden celebrated its 5th anniversary and I had the opportunity to get a ride in a train pulled by their Swedish class E steam locomotive no 901.
The E (and modified to E2) class was the most common steam locomotive in Sweden and was mostly used for freight. 901 is the second loco in the series and was built in 1907 at Nydqvist & Holm AB (NOHAB) in Trollhättan.
The coaches used in the train were built 1942 and 1946. This type of coaches was used in local commuter trains.
The train ride was a great experience for me and I hope you'll enjoy the (shaky) video.
On July 1st I started working at the FSVJ engine shed. I have been working with computers all my life (64 now..) and have no experience of heavy train mechanics but I hope I'll be able to learn
some and become dirty in the process :)

Cab ride in the Swedish steam loco E 901

On April 24th 2016 the historical railway society FSVJ (Föreningen Sörmlands Veteran Järnväg) had its annual 'Tågsläpp' event. It's an open house event where the public is invited to the loco shed.
My work mate Peter and I have been helping out making the E901 loco ready for this event (He's the mechanical wizard and I'm the train nerd). Luckily we were invited to a cab ride! Here's my video of a short moment in steam train heaven! :)
