BEAUTIFUL WATERFALLS IN SABIE | Mpumalanga, South Africa Tourism
Starting in Sabie, the 50 km Sabie Waterfall Route follows the Main Road out of Sabie – R532 – both north and south west of town, connecting one waterfall with the next, the countryside a rich canvas of forested ravines, rivers, passes and valleys.Nowhere else in the country is it possible to combine such views, and picnic spots, with so many waterfalls.
Bridal Veil Falls - The delicate spray of this fall does remind one of the gossamer veil of a bride, despite its impressive drop. You’ll find Bridal Veil Falls just 6 km outside of Sabie, making it one of the most accessible falls. There is a bit of a steep climb to reach the falls, but the view is worth it.
Lone Creek Falls - If there is one waterfall you make time for, then Lone Creek Falls is it. Not only because it has one of the shortest walks from the parking area – only 200 metres shrouded in trees – but also because its long, narrow drop makes it one of the most interesting and beautiful falls close to Sabie. A particularly pretty viewpoint lies at the base of the falls.
Horseshoe Falls - Exactly as its name suggests, these falls drop in the shape of a horseshoe – cascading on either side of a solid rock.
Mac Mac Falls - Mac Mac are the first falls you’ll reach if you leave by the R532 north of Sabie. It’s a short walk from the parking area before you reach a ‘platform’ that overlooks the falls.
Maria Shires Falls - Less-well known than the bigger falls, Maria Shires is pretty and private – perfect for a picnic. Like Forest Falls, not far from here, the setting is forested and tranquil.
Forest Falls - A lovely forest walk to the falls, although not clearly marked, and not everyone manages to find it. Those who do rave about the views and the gentleness of the walk.
Lisbon Falls - Lisbon and Berlin Falls are closer to Graskop and God’s Window, on the Panorama Route. When in full flow, these falls are nothing short of spectacular.
Berlin Falls - Almost as beautiful as the Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls are a must, even if the road leading up to the view point needs upgrading. If you’re on your way to Kruger, these are one of the easiest waterfalls to add to the drive.

Waterfalls in Sabie after many days of rain in South Africa's Mpumalanga lowveld
The Sabie Waterfalls Route in Mpumalanga is amongst South Africa's best-kept secrets: visitors are often so captivated by the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, with its magnificent cliffs and stunning views, not to mention dazzling flora and fauna, that this superb cluster of waterfalls is often overlooked.
There are more waterfalls here than anywhere else in southern Africa, and you'll be astonished by their beauty and diversity. Forget the Big Five and that magnificent canyon for a while, set aside a day or two, and take yourself on a waterfalls tour.
Start in Sabie and head north on the R532 towards the clearly signposted Horseshoe, Lone Creek and Bridal Veil Falls.
As the name suggests, the Horseshoe Falls creates an almost perfect horseshoe as it cascades down the mountainside. It's an easy walk through a campsite to get a superb view.
A short drive away is the evocatively named Lone Creek Falls, which tumble down almost 70m into lush ferns and forest.
You'll understand why the Bridal Veil Falls, again just a brief drive away, are so-named when you see the delicate tracery of water and spray that wafts like a veil from the high cliffs.
For more Sabie waterfalls, go further north on the R532 and head for the gorgeous Mac Mac Falls, named for the Scottish miners who sought their fortune here during the 1870s gold rush.
Next stop is South Africa's highest waterfall – The Lisbon Falls, named by Portuguese miners who panned for gold here. These falls crash down 90m into the gorge below.
Finally, it's off to the Berlin Falls, shaped like a huge white candle, which flows through a natural sluice before dropping 80m into a deep pool below. Then enjoy your packed lunch in the green shade of a lovely picnic spot.
The lowveld town Sabie boasts a number of spactacular waterfalls in South Africa and the waterfalls are breathtaking at the moment due high rainfall during the last few days. Cyclone dineo definitely had a hand in delivering some of the rain.

Debengeni Waterfalls during rainy season_ 08 Apr 2018
It is said The Debengeni Waterfall was named by the Pedi Tribe, directly translated Place of the Big Pot this bears reference to the big pool of water at the pedestal of the waterfall. The Debengeni Waterfall can be found at the base of the Magoebaskloof Mountains, where the Ramadipa River descends approximately 80 metres into a big pool, the result of thousands of years of water erosion.
The plunge basin of the waterfall is a popular swimming spot for locals, passing by hikers and tourists alike. The water is cool and refreshing during the summer months of December through to March. Debengeni Falls' idyllic setting in the bush serves host to an expansive range of birdlife. For the bird lover, scores of rare species can be spotted in the tranquil surroundings of the waterfall. The Narina Tragon, Christopher Robin and Grey Wagtail are among the many species that one can spot. One of nature's attractions in the vicinity is the Woodbush Forest, the principal indigenous forest in Limpopo. These landscapes are home to more than 40 species of indigenous trees in the region. For the energetic there are numerous challenging hiking trails within the area. The Debengeni Downhill Ride for mountain-bikers is an exhilarating 15 to 18 kilometre route with views of tropical rainforest and tea plantations.
The Debengeni Falls are easily accessible from the Woodbush Forest Station just off the R71. Be prepared to travel on a dirt road for about 3km. Once at the Waterfall, visitors should note that the rocks are slippery and are cautioned as there are no lifeguards posted at the site.

Ang Huling Gubat sa Maynila | Arroceros Forest Park Dokumentaryo
Ang Arroceros Forest Park ang sinasabing huling gubat sa Maynila. The Arroceros Forest Park is a riverside park in Manila, Philippines, located on Antonio Villegas Street (former Calle Arroceros) in the central district of Ermita. Developed in 1993, the 2.2-hectare (5.4-acre) urban forest on the south bank of the Pasig River, at the foot of Quezon Bridge, consists of secondary growth forest with 61 different tree varieties and 8,000 ornamental plants providing a habitat for 10 different bird species. Despite its small size, it is considered an important feature of the city. It lies in a historic area of Manila and has been called Manila's last lung, being the city's only nature park. The park is administered by the City Government of Manila in partnership with private environmental group, Winner Foundation.
The area occupied by the Arroceros Forest Park used to be part of Parián, the Chinese trading settlement during the early Spanish colonial period. In the 19th century, it was the site of the Fabrica de Arroceros, a tobacco factory owned and operated by the Compañía General de Tabacos de Filipinas. During the American period, it was used as a military garrison which housed the Signal Corps at the Cuartel de Infantería and the Surgeon General's office at the Estado Mayor. When the Philippines gained independence after World War II, the barracks were converted into the headquarters of the Department of Education.
The park was established in 1993 after the government's education department offices were transferred to its present location in Pasig. Through a memorandum of agreement signed between the City of Manila and Winner Foundation supported by then First Lady Amelita Ramos, the city agreed to lease the site for development as a nature park by the private environmental group. With an initial 150 century-old trees that survived the war, the park now hosts over 3,000 trees through reforestation efforts spearheaded by the Manila Seedling Bank.
The park became the subject of controversy in 2003, when the local government of the City of Manila ordered its closure to give way to the construction of a school administration building and teachers' dormitory on a portion of the park despite protests from conservation groups. The groups claimed that of the 8,000 trees in the park in 2000, only 2,000 remained when the buildings were completed. The park was reopened in 2007.
The Arroceros Forest Park, designed by landscape architect Wilfrido Dizon and the Bulacan Garden Corporation, is home to over 3,500 trees of diverse variety, such as acacia mangium, acacia auriculiformis, African tulip tree, agoho, anahaw, banyan, bunga de china, dapdap, eucalyptus, ficus benjamina, fire tree, Indian tree, kamagong, mahogany, MacArthur palm, molave, narra, neem, rain tree, rattan, rubber tree, talisay, teak, tiesa and yucca. It is also inhabited by different fruit trees, including aratilis, avocado, banana, caimito, coconut, guava, macopa, mango, santol, as well as ornamental plants like calachuchi, gardenia, golden shower, palomaria and ylang-ylang. The park has tiled pathways and concrete roads giving access to areas around the park. It also contains a fish pond and bridge, as well as a riverside walk. The park is a habitat of different bird species, such as the long-tailed shrike, pied fantail, zebra dove, Pacific swallow, yellow-vented bulbul and brown shrike.
It also houses the Manila Education Center, the central offices for the Division of City Schools located at its southern edge.

Fanie Botha Hiking Trail - What to Expect
Hiking teaches you more about yourself than hours in front of tv ever could.
On the 26th of December 2018 to the 30th of December, Marco Martins, Dudley Thomson and Claudio Coelho covered the 75km of the Fanie Botha Hiking Trail, in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
This video is an account of the trail itself, their experiences and what you can expect from travelling the same hiking trail.
South Africa is beautiful, and The Fanie Botha Trail is proof of that. Indigenous forest, clear river streams, panoramic views, pine forest, cosy cabins in the woods and places where humans scarcely go...expect to see all of this and more on your trip. The audio is clean, free of music, to showcase just how loud nature can be.
