Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, often referred to as Flushing Meadows Park, s a public park in the northern part of Queens, New York City. It was created as the site of the 1939 New York World's Fair.
Its attractions include the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the current venue for the US Open tennis tournament; Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets baseball team; the New York Hall of Science; the Queens Museum of Art; the Queens Theatre in the Park; the Queens Zoo; the Unisphere; and the New York State Pavilion. It formerly contained Shea Stadium, demolished in 2009.
The Grandstand is a tennis court at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, used as a show court for the US Open. The court made its debut on August 29, 2016, the first day of the 2016 US Open. With a seating capacity of 8,125.
This is a circular stadium, with spaceship-like qualities, a canopy overhang and geometric shapes jutting from it on the outside.
While we continue walking, just next to the Grandstand tennis court, we start seeing the biggest tennis stadium of the world!
But before have a closer view of the stadium, we will walk south towards Avenue of the states, heading The Queens Museum.
The Queens Museum, formerly the Queens Museum of Art, is an art museum and educational center, located in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in the borough of Queens in New York City.
The museum was founded in 1972, and has among its permanent exhibitions, the Panorama of the City of New York, a room-sized scale model of the five boroughs originally built for the 1964 New York World's Fair.
The museum embarked on a $69 million expansion project in 2009, which was originally slated to be completed in October 2013.
While we left the Queens museum, we are moving left towards the Unisphere, a spherical stainless steel representation of the Earth.
The sphere, which measures 140 feet (43 m) high and 120 feet (37 m) in diameter. It was commissioned as part of the 1964 Fair. The Unisphere is one of the borough's most iconic and enduring symbols.
The Unisphere has been used as a setting or backdrop for several films and episodes, including the movie Men in Black.
Now we are moving right, to our final destination: The biggest tennis stadium of the world!
This is “Freedom of the Human Spirit”, a massive bronze statue depicting a male and a female nude with wild swans soaring skyward.
The Arthur Ashe stadium have seen Roger Federer win five times the US Open and in 2019, two Colombians made history winning for the first time this important Grand Slam!
Congratulations Robert Farah and Juan Sebastián Cabal! You set the path for many other young kids!

BOSTON COLLEGE, EXPLORING the STADIUM of the EAGLES (AMERICAN FOOTBALL), USA ????️????
SUBSCRIBE: - The Boston College Eagles football team represents Boston College in the sport of American football. The Eagles compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
Here, we are going to visit Alumni Stadium which is the football stadium located on the lower campus of Boston College. The stadium is the home of the Boston College Eagles and its present seating capacity is 44,500. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com.
Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The key role it played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding. One stop, former meeting house Faneuil Hall, is a popular marketplace.
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.

Thank you very much Mike. As Mike said, today really does represent another milestone for us in this 11 year quest to host the Olympic games with the report of the Evaluation, with the release of the Evaluation Commission's Report. And to be honest with you, we could not be more pleased with the report. In clearly every single category, the Evaluation Commission praised New york City, and so I really am absolutely thrilled, and I think it's a real compliment to the incredible NYC2012 team.

The most important thing we have to do is get a positive vote this afternoon. That really is our only negative in here, and if we clear that hurdle, then it's a focus on the 115 members of the International Olympic Committee in continuing to sell our message to those 115 people, and we are doing that in lots of different ways.

STORYLINE:
New York bid leader Dan Doctoroff, founder of NYC2012, said in a press conference at their Manhattan headquarters Monday that he was absolutely delighted with the report that New York City received from the IOC Evaluation Commission in Lausanne.
New York won generally positive assessments, including one for its potential legacy, but the report cited the continuing uncertainty over its proposed 2 (b)billion US dollar stadium on Manhattan's West Side. A vote on the project, crucial to the city's chances, was postponed for a second time Friday and was scheduled for later Monday in Albany, N.Y.
The IOC report said no guarantees were provided to ensure that the stadium and an international broadcasting centre would be built.
Exactly a month before the vote, front-runner Paris received the best overall review Monday in an IOC evaluation of the five cities bidding for the 2012 Olympics.
The International Olympic Committee issued a 123-page report evaluating the bids of Paris, London, New York, Madrid and Moscow - the most competitive and glamorous field in Olympic bid history.
London, Madrid and New York all got positive ratings while long-shot Moscow came in for criticism.
The report did not rank the cities, but offered an insight into the strength and weaknesses of each bid. It focused on technical issues such as venues, financing, transportation, accommodations, security and public and government support.
The findings will serve as a guide for the 117 eligible IOC voting members who will cast secret ballots in Singapore on July 6. The vote, however, also will take into account geopolitical and other issues not covered by the report.
The report was based on visits to the five cities in February and March by the IOC evaluation commission, headed by Morocco's Nawal El Moutawakel.
