Family Vacation 2018 Whistler, Canada - Odesza A Moment Apart
Went on a family vacation to Whistler, Canada British Columbia. The main reason for get together is to get all the family together for a snowboarding/skiing trip to Whistler Blackcomb. Vacation isn't a vacation if there is not a hike involved. While the other half of the group went boarding on the 2nd day. The other half went out hiking. We picked the Train Wreck Trail because there is a lot to see and it was only a 4 mile hike but we spent half the day out there exploring and hanging out in the snow. Once we got back from the trails we went next door to Forged Axe Throwing to learn how to throw axes. We saw this place on one of Sam Kolders vlog when he visited British Columbia.

Even though it's now 2020, and winter is well underway, large parts of Whistler are still filling in with snow, and many of the runs are still not open to ride. Heavy snowfall the night before made today look like it would be a great day, but high winds shutting down several of the lifts and large crowds from the NY festivities made it a nightmare to get up the mountain.
Name of the game was to make the most of each run, so we ventured a little off the beaten track to an area that we have ridden down many times, but not yet this year due to previously mentioned snow conditions. So with a lot of excitement and a little trepidation we ride to the Peak 2 Peak Gondola on Blackcomb which has an unmarked gladed run beneath it from the construction of laying the cable in.
This run is extremely fun but also technical, don't ride this alone as it's not patrolled and no-one will come and get you out. Have fun and stay safe out there, and happy 2020. May you have bottomless turns and never ending snow this year.
Axe throwing growing in popularity across Canada
A co-owner of a new axe-throwing lounge in Halifax says anybody can participate in the traditional Canadian lumberjack sport. Darren Hudson says he gets a thrill from seeing first-timers hit the target. (Feb. 15, 2016)
