Parihaka New Zealand
So, it was -4 in the UK and scorching in Whangarei in NZ, a country with endless trails. This was on a borrowed Ghost AM2, with only 120mm travel and terrible tyres (hybrids??) so was sketchy, and I lost the chain about 5 minutes in, but even so - amazing place, amazing fun!!!

XT600e ADV adventure - Edwards and Malings passes, NZ
9th and 10th November 2013
A bunch of us went exploring two great ADV routes, Edwards Pass and Malings Pass, next to the Hanmer end of the Molesworth station in southern Marlborough in the South Island of NZ.
This was the first ride I'd done on my, at the time, new 1997 Yamaha XT600e.
01:28 Beginning of Edwards Pass
09:54 Randomly bumping into the guy I'd just bought the bike from
14:10 Lake Tennyson
15:23 First hut
16:17 Second hut
16:56 Glamping :D
17:37 Start of Malings Pass

26:52 Lullabye
This has been sitting in my HDD for years and I've only just got around to finishing it. And that with a grain of salt too, it was a quick hack n slash to trim two days worth of footage down to this. I would normally agonize over the remainder for weeks to try to get it smaller but I'd rather just get this finished and uploaded pronto :)
Queenstown to Arrowtown Cycling via Arthur's Point
New Zealand December 2019.
What turned into potentially the best cycling trip I have completed since moving to Queenstown started off as a small and not so well planned route from Queenstown to Arrowtown which ended up much more ambitious than expected.
The first section saw me cycling from my home up in Fernhill, down to town and out to Arthur's Point along Gorge Road and crossing the Edith Cavell Bridge over the shotover canyon.
From Arthur's Point I cycled down to the Lower shotover single track which started with climbing a steep hill.
I followed the ridge that runs parallel to the shotover river for a short while, taking in the magnificent sites, including a filming from The Hobbit across the river which was used as the forest at the slopes of the Misty Mountains.
As I began to descend down into the river valley below the trail became more narrow and steep on the hills edge, which made for a thrilling ride.
At the bottom I explored some bizarre looking sand and gravel cliffs before meeting up with my friend Jirka.
Together we headed towards the Queenstown Trail Countryside ride, along the way passing through fields of wild Lupins next to the Shotover River. Lupins were originally introduced to New Zealand as sheep and cattle feed but eventually were intentionally spread throughout the south island of New Zealand for their beauty. Although considered as an invasive species, originating in the America's, the Lupins draw in thousands of tourists every year to admire their beauty. Another plant considered a pest to the area is the bright yellow Scotch Broom but all these invasive colours made for an interesting ride.
Once we reached the Countryside trail we cut through the open rural area of Speargrass Flat to the stunning Millbrook Gold Resort, set on an old Wheat Farm from the 1860's with some of the old rustic buildings still in tact.
Our final section of the journey took us to Arrowtown where we stopped at the Fork and Tap for beer and Pizza before the bus journey home!

Queenstown Wine Tour
#QueenstownWineTours #RivaezAdventureVlog #NewZealand
Hello everyone!
Short vid today but it doesn't mean it isn't any more fun than the others. We were super excited about this day as we had never done a wine tour before. It was great to be driven around, given wine and fed a full meal.
It was another beautiful (hot) summer day and it was perfect for spending it out in the green valley. The wind felt great and luckily it wasn't as strong as when we were up in the hills by our AirBnB.
After this, we went into full relax mode as we were almost done and starting to feel homesick.
Keep an eye out for our final video in the Cardrona Valley and watch us say goodbye...
