All the 15 floats paraded during the Inuyama Festival are fitted with mechanical gimmicks. It's one of the biggest float festivals in Japan. During the day, the floats display mechanical gimmicks under blooming cherry trees of the castle town. After dark the foalts are lit up with flickering light of candle lanterns. Both are must-sees. You will have a special Edo period dinner Haruhime Gozen at the Horibe residence (a former samurai residence registered as a National Tangible Cultural Asset). The festival lasts for two days: Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3, 2016. Sign-up fee: 5,500JPY per person (including a guided tour around the town by Inuyama Omotenashi Corps and the special dinner).
