味噌スープとトムヤンクンスープの二種類から味を選べます。
Chanpon, is a noodle dish that is a regional cuisine of Nagasaki, Japan. Due to the inspiration from Chinese cuisine, it is also a form of Japanese Chinese cuisine. Champon is made by frying pork, seafood and vegetables with lard; a soup made with chicken and pig bones is added. Ramen noodles made especially for champon are added and then boiled. Unlike other ramen dishes, only one pan is needed as the noodles are boiled in the soup. Depending on the season and the situation, the ingredients differ. Hence the taste and style may depend on the location and time of year.

Commanding a stunning view of Nagasaki Harbour from its position on top of the hill of Minami-Yamate, this romantic area retains the atmosphere of a foreign settlement.
Glover Garden is an open air museum. It exhibits mansions of former Western residents of Nagasaki such as British merchants Frederick Ringer and William Alt and the former residence of Thomas Glover, a Scottish merchant. It is placed on the hill where Western merchants settled down after the end of Japan's era of seclusion (sakoku) in the second half of the 19th century.

Glover Garden is a five minute walk from Ouratenshudo-shita tram station on the line number 5 with a cost of 120 yen.The entrance is adjacent the Oura Catholic Church.

Checking out the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, Penguin Aqarium and the Peace Park | VLOG 02
Yo fellas, this vlog showcases me and my friend's Nagasaki backpack trip. Our main aim was to check out the famous Nagasaki lantern festival, which boasts of over 15,000 colorful and beautiful lanterns. It was started by the Chinese community of Nagasaki (Nagasaki is quite multi-cultural with lots of Thais and Chinese folks there), to celebrate the Lunar New Year. We went to Shinichi Chinatown of Nagasaki, which is like the main place for the festival, and were greeted by a plethora of intricately crafted lanterns of various types and sizes. There are also events like Emperors dance, dragon dance, Chinese acrobats etc. which happen during specific days of the festival.
Next, we headed to the Nagasaki Penguin (entry was 500 yen I think), which was my first time seeing penguins. And boy there were loads of cute ones there! There are around 8 species of different penguins, though i could just make out the emperor penguins and the ones which were less colorful. You can actually even pet and feed them if you go on a weekend (for 500-yen i think)!
We also made time to roam around the Peace Park, which hosts a 10-meter-tall statue symbolizing the need for peace and a stark reminder of the atomic bomb that devastated the area.
Our guesthouse and the host were very nice. The sleeping arrangements were quite comfortable, the place had Wi-Fi and a free to use laptop and even provided breakfast all for just 2300 yen a night, and of course the hosts were friendly and well-travelled too. Also the location was good, so we had access to good restaurants too, we normally had Chinese cuisine called Champon which is a regional delicacy of Nagasaki and is basically a noodle-soup with various veggies and meats (Ringer hut has massive servings for comparatively cheap prices).

- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

Nagasaki (長崎市, Nagasaki-shi, Japanese: [naɡaꜜsaki]) (listen ) is the capital and the largest city of Nagasaki Prefecture on the island of Kyushu in Japan. The city's name, 長崎, means long cape in Japanese. Nagasaki became a centre of colonial Portuguese and Dutch influence in the 16th through 19th centuries, and the Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region have been recognized and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Part of Nagasaki was home to a major Imperial Japanese Navy base during the First Sino-Japanese War and Russo-Japanese War.
