360 View of Monte Carlo from Fort Antoine
I've seen countless pictures of Monte Carlo from the north side of the harbor, but not as many from the south side. I was on a quest to find the amphitheater featured in the James Bond movie Goldeneye, staring Pierce Brosnan.
This shot shows the harbor where Onatopp meets the doomed Canadian Admiral Chuck Farrell. All in a plan to steal the Tiger helicopter. James Bond is seen walking through Fort Antoine's amphitheater on his way to seeing the two getting onto a yacht in the harbor.

Stage 04 - Monaco and a lap of the GP Circuit - The Retro Lab's Monte Carlo Rallye
Stage four of The Retro Lab’s Monte Carlo Rally would see us driving a lap of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit.
First run on the 14th April 1929 and organised by cigarette magnate Antony Noghès, The Monaco Grand Prix is now widely considered to be one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world.
Our progress around the Monaco Grand Prix Circuit was too slow to show you the whole thing, so here are some highlights of the circuit But We will be uploading the full video at some point so subscribe to our channel if you would like to see that.
The Principality of Monaco is located on the French Riviera; it is bordered by France on three sides with the Mediterranean Sea on the other. Monaco has an area of only 0.78 sq miles but a population of 36,371; this makes Monaco the second smallest and the most densely populated country in the world.
The Royal Family of Monaco, The House of Grimaldi, have ruled Monaco, with brief interruptions, since 1297. The official language is French, but Monégasque, Italian, and English are widely spoken.
The state's sovereignty was officially recognized by the Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861, with Monaco becoming a full United Nations voting member in 1993.
Harbour
The Lady Moura was the ninth largest privately owned yacht in the world when the boat was purchased in 1990, but is now only the 28th largest privately owned yacht in the world.
It reportedly cost around £130 million to build at the time and features 24 carat gold lettering to spell the name of the ship. The ship is owned by a Saudi Arabian businessman named Nasser Al-Rashid

Monaco-Ville.
Monaco-Ville is one of the oldest parts of Monaco; it is located on a rocky headland that extends into the Mediterranean Sea so is known locally as “Le Rocher” or “The Rock” in English.
The original settlement in Monaco-Ville is thought to have been established by the Phocaean Greeks in the 6th century BC and was originally known as Monoikos, after the temple of Hercules Monoikos and became known as Monaco in the Middle Ages.
Prince's Palace
The Prince's Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the Prince of Monaco. Prince Albert II
Built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, during its long and often dramatic history it has been bombarded and besieged by many foreign powers. Since the end of the 13th century, it has been the stronghold and home of the Grimaldi family who first captured it in 1297.
The Grimaldi family ruled the area first as feudal lords, and from the 17th century as sovereign princes, but their power was often derived from fragile agreements with their larger and stronger neighbours.
Casino
Monte Carlo Casino was built in 1856 as a way to save the ruling Grimaldi family from bankruptcy. As well as the casino the site also houses the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo and the office of Les Ballets de Monte Carlo.
The Monte Carlo Casino is owned and operated by the Société des bains de mer de Monaco, a public company in which the Monaco government and the Grimaldi family still have a majority interest.
The company also owns many of the other hotels, sports clubs, restaurants and nightclubs throughout Monaco.

Monaco Monte Carlo glimpse of charm
Monaco Monte Carlo glimpse of charm
The principality of Monaco is a tiny city-state on the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by France. Monaco is the second smallest independent state in the world and is almost entirely urban. Monaco is known for its upscale casinos, yacht-lined harbor and prestigious Grand Prix motor race, which runs through Monaco’s streets once a year. Monte-Carlo, its major district, is home to an elegant belle-époque casino complex and ornate Salle Garnier opera house. It also has many luxe hotels, boutiques, nightclubs and restaurants.
Monte Carlo is not the capital of Monaco but a government district. The country is divided into four areas: Monaco-Ville (the old city), the Condamine (port quarter), Monte-Carlo (business and recreation), and Fontvieille (recreation and light industry). With no natural resources to exploit other than its location and climate, the principality has become a resort for tourists and a tax haven for businesses. Monaco is six times the size of the Vatican and the world's most densely populated independent country.
Monaco is accessed by its land borders from France or Italy by a network of highways, most commonly used of which is the A8 which runs west from Monte Carlo to Nice and Marseille, and east towards the Italian border. Make sure to take into account frequent traffic jams when approaching and leaving Monaco.
Walking is by far the best way to get around Monaco; however, there are some areas, such as the Exotic Gardens, that require a large change in elevation and therefore make for rather strenuous hikes. There are also seven public escalators and elevators (all free) that help negotiate the steep slopes of the city. If you find yourself afoot and wanting to reach the opposite bank of Port Hercule, look for the small pedestrian-only ferry that runs each 20 minutes or so during daylight; it costs only one Euro.
The principality of Monaco offers a great balance of historical and modern attractions. There are various museums and palaces to visit as well as shopping malls and casinos. Monaco also offers relaxation spots along the harbor and even around the attractions. It is relatively easy to navigate Monte Carlo and Monaco if you take the time to learn where the various short cuts are. City maps are generally available at most news vendor stands and shops for a small fee.
