1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division equipment loaded for U.S.-IRF, Jan. 4, 2020
Equipment assigned to 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division is loaded onto aircraft bound for the U.S. Central Command area of operations from Fort Bragg, N.C. on January 4, 2020. This deployment is a precautionary action taken to respond to increased threat levels against U.S. personnel and facilities. The 'Devil' Brigade is the nucleus of the U.S. Immediate Response Force, capable of rapidly deploying anywhere in the world in response to a variety of contingency operations. (Video by Sgt 1st Class Zachary VanDyke)
Their deployment comes amid Iran taking steps to prepare their ballistic posture, while rockets from Hezbollah have been landing near the U.S. Embassy, bases, and on Iraqi civilian houses. The U.S. has readied their nuclear forces, moving more assets into global strike position for deterrence and optional use.
On Dec. 31, 2019, U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Ospreys dropped off Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) 19.2 Marines at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. Earlier that day, AH-64 Apaches were deployed to protect the embassy.
Air raids were conducted against Kata'ib Hizballah's weapons and planning facilities in Syria and Iraq, as well the IRGC, killing the commanders responsible for the Ayatollah-regime's proxy attacks on U.S. bases, public and private infrastructure over recent months, responsible for the deaths of nearly 1,000 U.S. troops over the years, hundreds of thousands of civilians from Iraq to Syria and Iran, and the brutal repression of the Iranian people under a religious-fascist vassal-regime of the Syrian-genocide-backing Russian Federation, threatening to engulf the region in total-war, at the helm a sinister alliance between total-state ideologues who've no regard for the freedom and dignity of the individual to self-organize and live free of force. This was one of many hundreds of regime-founded terror-networks, such as al-Haq, which self-proclaims responsibility for over 6,000 terror attacks around the globe from 2014, alone.
The world will take note, the United States rejects the preposterous notion that once a regime is allowed nuclear capability they should have an undisturbed reign of terror over their citizens and the world.
This comes as it was uncovered a PM in the Iraqi government, including some intelligence operatives, were exposed for being on the Iranian government's payroll, according to troves of documents and evidence leaked over recent months. This prompted Iraqi civilians to take to the streets, burning Iranian flags, in pursuit of their independence and sovereignty, understanding their government is too compromised to represent their interests. After weeks of protest, now ex-Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi resigned, only after his security services killed many civilians for the burning of Iranian flags and other forms of protest.
In the meantime, unrest has been unfolding in Iran over the government's interventions in the economy, cutting back oil output according to Russia's requests made to the OPEC oil-cartel, the supply-shortage resulting in artificially inflated prices of gas and other vital resources, goods and services. Iranian civilians know this is damaging their development, negatively impacting their quality of life. In tandem with these issues, they have grown tired of the totalitarian regime asserting control over their lives in all spheres, economic and social. In response, the Iranian government has killed thousands of dissidents over recent weeks, including children.
Earlier this month, four Katyusha rockets hit a military base near Baghdad International Airport early on Monday of December 9th, wounding at least six soldiers, Iraqi security officials said. It was one of many latest incidents in a series of rocket attacks in recent weeks, as Iran feels the pressure of dissent at home and abroad.
Iraqi security forces discovered a rocket launcher and some defused rockets nearby after searching the area following the attack, a statement from Iraqi security forces said.
According to the security officials, the area targeted by the rockets is frequented by military advisers from the U.S.-led coalition. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
On Dec. 3rd, five rockets landed inside the Ain al-Asad airbase, a sprawling complex in the western Anbar desert that hosts U.S. forces, without causing any casualties and little damage.
On at least two occasions last month in Baghdad, rockets landed in areas around the heavily fortified Green Zone, the seat of Iraq's government, causing no casualties or damages.
And near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a barrage of Katyusha rockets targeted an Iraqi air base that houses American troops in early November. No members of the U.S.-led coalition were hurt.

The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas. The C-17 carries forward the name of two previous piston-engined military cargo aircraft, the Douglas C-74 Globemaster and the Douglas C-124 Globemaster II. The C-17 commonly performs strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include tactical airlift, medical evacuation and airdrop duties. HUMVEE AIRDROP from C-17 To Drop Zone In Fort Bragg!
The C-17 commonly performs tactical and strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include medical evacuation and airdrop duties. It was designed to replace the Lockheed C-141 Starlifter, and also fulfill some of the duties of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, freeing the C-5 fleet for outsize cargo.
Boeing, which merged with McDonnell Douglas in the 1990s, continued to manufacture C-17s for export customers following the end of deliveries to the U.S. Air Force. Aside from the United States, the C-17 is in service with the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, NATO Heavy Airlift Wing, India, and Kuwait. The final C-17 was completed at the Long Beach, California plant and flown on 29 November 2015.
An airdrop is a type of airlift, developed during World War II to resupply otherwise inaccessible troops, who themselves may have been airborne forces. In some cases, it is used to refer to the airborne assault itself. Early airdrops were conducted by dropping or pushing padded bundles from aircraft. Later small crates with parachutes were pushed out of the aircraft's side cargo doors. Later cargo aircraft were designed with rear access ramps, lowerable in flight, that allowed large platforms to be rolled out the back.
As aircraft grew larger, the U.S. Air Force and Army developed low-level extraction, allowing tanks and other large supplies to be delivered, such as the M551 Sheridan or M2 Bradley. Propaganda leaflets are also a common item to airdrop.
The airdropping of weapons evolved to the concept of having the payload itself as one massive bomb. The 15,000 pound (6,800 kg) BLU-82, nicknamed the Daisy Cutter for its ability to turn a dense forest into a helicopter landing zone in a single blast, was used in Vietnam and recently in Afghanistan. The 22,600 pound (10,250 kg) GBU-43/B, nicknamed the Mother Of All Bombs, was deployed to the Persian Gulf for The Iraq War. These palletized airdropped weapons are used by cargo aircraft like the C-130 or C-17 in the traditional role of a bomber aircraft.
In peacekeeping operations or humanitarian aid situations, food and medical supplies are often airdropped from United Nations and other aircraft. The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) visual information does not imply or constitute DoD endorsement.

Fishing Vessel hits large Sailing Vessel in Good Visibility 20/8/2010
Here is the press release from this incident.
At a hearing 30/05/2011 at Southampton Magistrates the Officer of the Watch of a fishing vessel pleaded guilty to one safety charge brought under Section 58 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. He was fined £1,700 plus costs of £6,435.
On the 20th August 2010 the Andrea had finished fishing and was returning to port in the Netherlands. The skipper and rest of the crew were below leaving Jan Baarssen alone on the bridge in sole charge of the vessel. The Andrea is a 36.5 metre beam trawler registered in the UK but is based in the Netherlands
The Alexander von Humboldt was returning to Germany after a training voyage with a crew of fifty nine (59) consisting of thirty three (33) trainees and twenty six (26) full time crew. She is a large three masted sail training vessel registered in Germany.
The visibility on the day was good (10 Km +), wind was southerly force 5-6 with weather being grey and overcast.
During the afternoon of the 20th August 2011 the Alexander von Humboldt detected the Andrea on a steady bearing on its port side. The Andrea was not fishing and was the give way vessel. The Alexander von Humboldt started sounding its whistle. The Andrea failed to give way. The Alexander von Humboldt also tried to contact the Andrea by VHF radio but had no response. The Andrea claims to have gone hard to starboard and when within 15-20 metres of the Alex von Humboldt, the Andrea was seen to go full astern. The Andrea struck the port quarter of the Alexander von Humboldt. It was a fairly low speed collision.
Apart from some scratched paintwork, the Andrea was undamaged.
The Alexander von Humboldt was lucky to suffer only some dented shell plating with associated damage to internal wooden bulkheads and deck planking together with bent or buckled handrails. It was very fortunate that no harm came to the crew of the Alexander von Humboldt and that its rigging and watertight integrity remained intact.
Mr Jan Baarssen, 51, of Urk, Netherlands pleaded guilty for conduct endangering ships or persons. He was finerd£1,700 plus costs of £6,435
In passing sentence the Magistrates stated that it was fortunate that they were no injuries especially among the sail training crew.
Mr David Fuller O.B.E., Principal Fishing Vessel Surveyor for the Eastern Region of the MCA stated:This is yet another incident occurring on the return of a fishing vessel to harbour. Fishermen are reminded of the requirement to keep a good lookout at all times. Also that that the trip is not over until the vessel is safely tied up in port.
We would like to thank the German and Netherlands Police for their assistance in this matter
Groundwater: Limitations on Sharing the Resource
This panel included Kathleen Jackson, Director of the Water Development Board, Sarah Schlessinger of the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts, John Durand representing Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, and public policy strategist John Hockenyos of TXP, Inc. Moderator Marc Rodriguez, government relations consultant, guided the panelists through a discussion of issues considered by the earlier panels and their implications for water policy. Using a case study of the City of San Antonio, the participants discussed the economic importance of water, and the nearly impossible balancing act that local Groundwater Conservation Districts must perform to responsibly serve both landowners and the environment. SUMMARY
=======
The American Indian Wars (or Indian Wars) is the collective name for the various armed conflicts fought by European governments and colonists, and later the United States government and American settlers, against various American Indian tribes. These conflicts occurred within the United States and Canada from the time of the earliest colonial settlements in the 17th century until the 1920s. The various Indian Wars resulted from a wide variety of sources, including cultural clashes, land disputes, and criminal acts committed on both sides. European powers and the colonies also enlisted Indian tribes to help them conduct warfare against one another's colonial settlements.
After the American Revolution, many conflicts were local to specific states or regions and frequently involved disputes over land use; some entailed cycles of violent reprisal. The British Royal Proclamation of 1763 included in the Constitution of Canada prohibited white settlers from taking the lands of indigenous peoples in Canada without signing a treaty with them. It continues to be the law in Canada today, and 11 Numbered Treaties covering most of the First Nations lands limited the number of such conflicts.
As white settlers spread westward after 1780, the size, duration, and intensity of armed conflicts increased between settlers and Indians. The climax came in the War of 1812, which resulted in the defeat of major Indian coalitions in the Midwest and the South, and conflict with settlers became much less common. Conflicts were resolved by treaty, often through sale or exchange of territory between the federal government and specific tribes. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 authorized the US government to enforce the Indian removal east of the Mississippi River to the other side of the sparsely populated American frontier. The policy of removal was eventually refined to relocate Indian tribes to specially designated and federally protected reservations.
