The best way to see St. George's, Grenada capital is on foot. And there is no better place to start than the Market Square. Examine all the different herbs and spices grown on the island.
The Sendall Tunnel is connecting the Market square with the rest of the city.
Above the market in Church Street stands the Roman Catholic Cathedral, dating back to 1884. On the opposite side is Parliament Building together with the Supreme Court. Lower down on your left is the Anglican Church (1825) and on the other side of Church Street, on Grand Etang Road is the Presbyterian Church.

Der Staat Grenada (State of Grenada), ist eine Insel der Kleinen Antillen.
Grenada gehört zu den „Inseln im Winde.
Der Wahlspruch von Grenada: „Immer auf Gott vertrauend streben, bauen und schreiten wir als ein Volk voran.
Die Franzosen gründeten die Hauptstadt von Grenada, St. George's, 1650 als Fort Royal.
Auf den Hügeln, die die Stadt umgeben, gibt es zwei Forts: Fort George und Fort Frederick.
Fort George wurde im Jahre 1705 von den Franzosen erbaut.
Die Festung ist für Besucher geöffnet.
Grenada ist auch als Gewürzinsel bekannt.
Die wichtigsten Exportgüter sind Bananen, Zucker, Kakaobohnen, Kakao, Muskatnuss, Muskatblüte, Nelken, Vanille, Zimt und Ingwer.

This is a view from the top of the foremast of the Sorlandet which was docked in Grenada in February 2012. The video is pretty self explanatory. We were docked in St-Georges next to carenage.

Grenada, es una pequeña nación conformada por tres islas: Carriacou, Pequeña Martinica y Grenada, la más grande de ellas. Su capital es St George´s, una bonita población situada en un puerto natural (foto 1). De lejos destaca un anillo de iglesias en la ciudad y de fortalezas sobre las montañas que la dominan, aunque ni unas ni otras están en muy buen estado de conservación (foto 2). Las casas georgianas de piedra, y las más modernas de hormigón se apiñan con sus tejados rojos unas y con tejados de zinc otras (foto 3). La ciudad está dividida en dos partes : Carenage con su puerto interior para pequeñas embarcaciones, y la Explanade, que es la zona donde atracan los cruceros, y que dispone de una pequeña zona peatonal bien limpia y cuidada (foto 4). Por esta zona se encuentran los mercados (foto 5), la estación de autobuses, y todos los vendedores ambulantes del mundo. Ambas partes de la ciudad, se unen atravesando el túnel Sendall, que construido en el siglo XIX, ha quedado definitivamente obsoleto para el paso de vehículos y personas (foto 6)...
