Fort Frederik Beach, St. Croix Virgin Islands
Located in the town of Frederiksted is the pretty, white shoreline of Fort Frederik Beach. Take a stroll at the water's edge, swim in the calm sapphire water or spread your blanket and just relax. If you are visiting by cruise ship this beach is super convenient, it's just a short walk from the dock. Enjoy your beach break!
Fredriksted, St. Croix, USVI
Frederiksted is a small town on the west end of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It is home to Fort Frederik, constructed to protect the town from pirate raids and attacks from rival imperialist nations. It was named after Frederick V of Denmark, who purchased the Danish West Indies in 1754.
The emancipation of slaves was proclaimed on July 3, 1848, at Fort Frederik on the waterfront.
Frederiksted maintains its original seven street by seven street city design and is host to several historic structures. Among them are the protestant Church, St. Patrick's Catholic Church built in the 1840s and its new renovatedprimary school, the Customs House, the 19th Century Apothecary,

Dancers Entertaining Cruise Passengers at Frederiksted, St. Croix USVI - U.S. Virgin Islands
While on a Southern Caribbean cruise on the Adventure of the Seas with Royal Caribbean, one of our port of calls was St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. I stopped to take a quick video of the dancers in their beautiful costumes moving to the beat and the sounds of the steel drum music.
From StCroixTourism.com:
Frederiksted, located on the west end of St. Croix, has a long and storied history. The town was established in 1751 and it is the second largest town on St. Croix. It was originally protected by Fort Frederik, which dates back to 1700. Today, the fort houses a museum. Frederiksted is often referred to by locals as Freedom City because it and the fort is the site where then Governor General Peter Van Scholten read the proclamation abolishing slavery in 1848. The Frederiksted of today has a newly renovated and colorful waterfront that draws cruise ships and visitors from all around the world. When a ship is in port, the town literally comes alive with arts and crafts vendors, local food and drink vendors, live music, dancing Mocko Jumbies and many happy tourists enjoying their visit to the island.

Got lost IntoTheBlue//Frederiksted, St.Croix//Don’t miss it in US Virgin Islands
After spending some beautiful time enjoying fascinating historical oblique of the wonderful town of Christiansted as well as warming welcome of local people, we arrived to Frederiksted, the second largest town in St.Croix, USVI.
Frederiksted is located on the west cost of the island. It was established in 1751 and was originally protected by Fort Frederik, which dates back to 1700.
Locals always refer to Frederiksted as a “freedom city” as ...
The town was destroyed by fire in 1878 as a result of a labor revolt. It was later restored during the Victorian era. Now it looks pretty charming and a way laidback town with some of historical sites, parks and small shops along the narrow streets.
Frankly speaking, what attracts people in St.Croix is a terrific diving! St.Croix is known by diving enthusiasts as a fantastic and underrated place to dive! The island is almost completely surrounded by a barrier reef. It offers amazing beauty and variety below sea level as well as above. Nowhere else in the Caribbean can you dive a wreck, wall, pier and reef all in one day! So, frankly speaking, we got lost into the Blue, diving every day for couple months, and resurfaced only to eat dinner, to get our tanks refilled and go to celebrate some special occasions on the island. Generally, the town is very quiet and sleepy but what they can do very well is to celebrate!
In this Episode you will see us:

Fredericksted, St Croix 4K
Frederiksted is both the town and one of the two administrative districts of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Frederiksted has fewer than 1,000 people in the town proper, but nearly 10,000 in the greater western side of the island. Christiansted (mid-island on the north) is about 30 years older but commerce was limited by its natural, shallow protective reef. Frederiksted was built in the leeward side of the island (shadow of the wind) for calm seas and a naturally deep port. It is home to Fort Frederik, constructed to protect the town from pirate raids and attacks from rival imperialist nations and named after Frederick V of Denmark, who purchased the Danish West Indies in 1754.
Just another meeting in St Croix and just happened to have Penelope with me (Mavic Pro), a few minutes to spare and stopped by Fredericksted to drone the cruise ship and area.
