VLOG # 3 Visiting Fort San Andres In Romblon
Fort San Andres was built to guard the Romblon town, against pirates and also to reinforce the dominance of Spaniards on the common folk during those days. It overlooks the town as well as the sea, which made it perfect to notice any intruders coming towards Romblon; either by sea or through land.
One could see this fort looming over the hilltop. After the restoration, the steps have been a depiction of sea life, as well as the on-goings in the locality. Though, there are no vaults inside anymore, but the feeling that one would get once inside the fort is very similar to being in a vault. The numerous massive columns in square structures are made to withstand any attack or siege; perhaps even local revolt.
The tower that this fort has gives complete and spectacular view of entire harbour. This was meant to watch over the crucial junctions of logistics, as well as any susceptible movement around the harbour.
Since 2012, when a massive restoration project got over, the place is more accessible and beautiful than the ruins it was pre-restoration. The fort attracts a lot of archaeological experts, architects and historians, as well as students who are interested in 15th century Spaniard history and architecture. Photographers gather here very often because they can get a panoramic view of the entire town and the Romblon port. This part is exponentially in favor of the trigger happy photographers.Well, a lot of travelers and locals find it to be the perfect spot to be with their romantic companion. The ocean on one side, greenery on the other and a colorful town around; gives three options to choose and settle at one side. The wind is pretty charming and feels good, but under the afternoon sun; the entire romanticism may get badly sunburnt. Hence, couples mostly visit in the evenings; after a long day of work or excursions.
Overall, Fort San Andres in Romblon is something that can’t be missed and every visitor to this beautiful island should include this place in their list of places to visit while in Romblon.

Impression: San Andres Romblon, Philippines
Sharing to you my beautiful hometown of San Andres, in the island-province of Romblon Philippines. But the tradition of selling fresh fish at the door step of your home remains the same.Yes, life remains slow but if you gonna ask me why...my answer is, I would rather keep it that way. The tranquility outside the town is so serene, the lush landscape is so inviting to relax and the good thing about our small town is...it's blessed with outstanding natural beauty.
Capturing this HD video was no joke. I have to wake up at 0530 almost everyday just to capture the beautiful sunrise in Poblacion's public beach and in the farmville of Brgy. Jhun Carlo. Not helping at all is the motorcycle of my brother-in-law which serves as our official transporter during the two-weeks filming.
In this trip, I discovered a lot of places na hindi ko pa narating noon. Bal-ong Falls in Sitio Hacienda is one.
Also, driving towards the unknown Tablas Cross Country Road between San Andres and San Agustin via Brgy. Mari Norte was a journey of discovery.
Nais ko ng umuwi for good and enjoy the simple living sa bayan ng San Andes. I consider all of these as priceless. Our country is not perfect but bloody hell, IT'S MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES, honestly!
It is really my dream to capture our province and file the still and motion picture in into our provincial library para may reference ang future generation.
Also, If internet speed is not an issue, please watch it in HD para mas maganda ang inyong experience.
Salamat ng malaki kay Jonas who drives me along the off-the-beaten-tract, kay Manong Popong who allows me to use his motorcycle kahit naga burok-burok ron, sa bangkero na naghatid sa akin sa Sapatos Point, sa anak ni Te Lucy na nag guide sa amin sa Bal-ong Falls, and to my family who supported me all the way of my passion. This video is dedicated to all the fun-loving people of San Andres ag kabay pa nga ma maintain gihapon naton ang aton kalikasan sa mga darating na panahon.
Hope you enjoy this video and I hope one day, you will visit my province too.
Discover San Andres, Romblon. Don't just imagine, be there!

The Sight and Sound of San Andres Romblon Philippines Part II
Ito po ay pinamagatang...The Sight and Sound of San Andres Romblon Part II*.
Dito po ninyo matutunghayan ang tunay na buhay ng San Andresnon in particular and probably Pilipino in general. From the bare-footed farmers of Agpudlos grinding the dried 'palay' up to the playing kids of Sitio Mablaran taking a shower in a metered-free water. Akoy napaiyak habang pinapanood ang pinaka bagong edisyon. It took me almost half day to finish editing at lalong natagalan ng magluko ang aking NLE software. The docs human drama and landscape of our town is truly moving. Added with a beautiful backround music, slow motion and right cut, for me its truly overwhelming.
In short, San Andres is indeed a 'real Philippines'. I should say that lucky for us San Andresnon that our town remains the same, just like when our Great 'Ol Folks' discovered it.
The moving picture was captured in glorious High Definition using a consumer camera and just right after the typhoon Ondoy. Kang-Ayong. Thanks to one lovely lass from Dona Trinidad who volunteered to buy me gasoline in Brgy. Mabini. So kind indeed!

SAN ANDRES, ROMBLON
Mabuhay!
Here's just a compilation of our countless visit at San Andres or what they call it Bayan because this is the place where you can locate their wet and dry market, few known establishments, and the thing that most Manilenyos will look for -- signal. We usually stay here for hours whenever there's no scheduled adventure otherwise we're only killing time by sleeping at home or boring time as to what my little sister call it.
Anyway enjoy the compilation! This isn't the real fun yet, I still have few adventures to share on the coming days!
