Fortress of Doboj
Doboj Fortress or Gradina is located in the city of Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina.[1] The fort is currently abandoned.
One of the most important defenses in the medieval bannate/duchy of Usora, this large stone structure was built in the early 13th century on the site of an earlier, clay and wood-based structure from the 10th or 11th century. In the first period of its existence, from the 13th to the late 14th or early 15th century (1415), the fortress was built in the Romanesque architecture style. This magnificent object has been burned and ransacked at least 18 times (per official/written record) in its history.
After the reconstruction of 1415, the Doboj fortress became more of a Gothic structure and had its keep reinforced with thick walls (up to 3 feet or 1 meter thick at the Eastern wall) as well as addition of a bastion/plateau with six cannon on top of it. The captain's tower was the dominating feature with a very tall and square keep dominating the fortress. Three big towers (North-West, Eastern, and Southern Gate) strategically protected the flanks of the fortress, hence rendering any idea of an attack a suicidal attempt. The Southern tower's walls became round in order to deflect cannonballs (circa 1370-1380s) and local captains at the time used Dubrovnik-made cannons, bombards, and balistas as fortress' main defense weaponry (Dubrovnik was known as Republic of Ragusa at the time)

Well we are alive and vinkl ili Živa glav i vinkl
Dokumentarni film “ Živa glava i vinkl“
Režija:Branko Lazić
Trajanje:22 minuta. HD 16:9
Proizvodnja:RTRS 2014.
Sinopsis:

The internet is sadly becoming more and more toxic/negative, and when it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the level of extreme racist, ethnic, nationalistic and other purely cruel comments has been really upsetting.
So, if you would like to engage (and we really hope you will/do) then please take the time to use our email address :)

Doboj residents clean up town after flooding, fearing disease as temperatures rise
Residents of the Bosnian city of Doboj were hastily working to clean up the streets on Tuesday, fearing disease would spread as temperatures began rising amid the worst flooding in the Balkans since record-keeping begun.
People brought their broken, soggy furniture out onto the muddy streets, creating piles of rubbish.
Residents wore face masks to protect themselves from the stench and dust coming from the drying mud.
Last week, Doboj was among the first of countless towns, cities and villages that were inundated by the country's numerous rivers fed by several days of unrelenting rain.
Water surged into Doboj last Friday and begun rising with such speed that people only had time to grab a few possessions and rush to higher floors of apartment buildings and house roofs to escape.
It was scary, horrible... I've experienced another flood as a little girl in 1965, but nothing like this, Doboj resident Dubravka Cindric recalled.
Cindric went back to her first-floor apartment on Monday and was shocked by what greeted her.
Ruined kitchen appliances and furniture, mud-covered floors and peeling walls had rendered the place uninhabitable.
I hope somebody will help us. I pray to God for assistance to reach the people who really need it, she said.
Water started receding in Doboj over the weekend, but pools of flood water still cover some of the streets.
Elsewhere in Bosnia, particularly along the Sava river forming the country's natural border with Croatia in the north, whole villages remained submerged.
The flooding across the Balkans has left at least 40 people dead.
