Fortress Canyon Blue Mountains April 2016
We did South Bowen Canyon on Sunday then on Monday we had planned on going to Bell Creek Canyon, but changed our minds and went to Fortress Instead. Its a great little canyon and although it doesnt get rated highly in the guidebooks for its amazing canyon, this place has a bit of everything - cool canyon walls, an abseil, water swims in constriction, huge waterfall at the end, awesome views on the walk out. Great little spot. This one was just Leisa and myself.
Blue Mountains Walks: Fern Bower-Amphitheatre track Leura NSW Australia - not to be missed
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
This is another Blue Mountains round walk. Beginning at the Leura Cascades and descending via Fern Bower into the valley, the track follows around a cliff ledge to the Bridal Veil fall before ascending to the Cascades again.
A wonderful 2 hour walk! It is one of the few that takes you to a Point where you can see Leura Falls, though McKillop's Lookout was in a dangerous condition when I was last there.

Blue Mountains Walks: The Colosseum, Medlow Bath NSW Australia
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
This is another of the old Medlow Bath tracks built 100+ years ago. In places the track could be said to be a little dangerous, but negotiable with care.
The goal is to reach the Colosseum itself, a large overhang with a drippy waterfall in front of it, but the steps and ladders on the way down are the fun part.

This is a genuine 19th Century walk without modern improvements. While not the most spectacular scenery, it is still very pleasant. The day I made this video there was no-one else around which is a feature of all the Mt Victoria walks.

The Blue Mountains in Australia
The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region in New South Wales, Australia. It borders on Sydney's metropolitan area, its foothills starting about 50 kilometres (31 mi) west of the state capital. The public's understanding of the extent of the Blue Mountains is varied, as it forms only part of an extensive mountainous area associated with the Great Dividing Range. Officially the Blue Mountains is bounded by the Nepean and Hawkesbury Rivers in the east, the Coxs River and Lake Burragorang to the west and south, and the Wolgan and Colo Rivers to the north. Geologically, it is situated in the central parts of the Sydney Basin.
The Blue Mountains are a dissected plateau carved in sandstone bedrock. They are now a series of ridge lines separated by gorges up to 760 metres (2,490 ft) deep. The highest point in the Blue Mountains, as it is now defined, is an unnamed point with an elevation of 1,189 m (3,901 ft) seven kilometres north-east of Lithgow. However, the highest point in the broader region once considered to be the Blue Mountains is Mount Bindo, elevation 1,362 m (4,469 ft). A large part of the Blue Mountains is incorporated into the Greater Blue Mountains Area World Heritage Site, consisting of seven national park areas and a conservation reserve.
The Blue Mountains area includes the local government areas of the City of Blue Mountains, the City of Hawkesbury, the City of Lithgow and Oberon Shire
